    Chicken Biryani
    Reagan B.

This was my first experience with Indian food and it was delightful. I knew it was gonna be good as soon as I stepped into the restaurant and the smell of rich spices filled the air. I got enough for two meals (will be eating for lunch tomorrow lol) so that I could try some of dishes I'd heard were delicious. I started with the veggie samosas. They were crispy and packed full with potatoes and peas. The flavor was rich and contrast of the crunchy exterior to soft middle was fun! My first dish I ordered was the veggie Biryani.... Well I got a little surprise and it turned out to be chicken. Which thankfully isn't a problem because I eat meat. But if you don't - might wanna check first. It was interesting flavor and paired perfectly with this garlicky, cilantro yogurt sauce. The start of the show was no doubt the butter chicken masala with the garlic naan. Omg omg omg I was in heaven! The chicken was tender and the curry sauce was so luscious and paired perfectly with the garlic butter naan. I wanna eat this everyday of my life now. I also tried the cheese naan dipped in it and it was a lovely pairing as well. Over all I great experience and will be back!

I had never had Indian food before I visited this restaurant. I can say that I'm a fan of chicken biryani and chicken Tikka masala! I got them both mild spiced because I like to taste my food and my palate will need more refining for the spice life. Lol. The biryani rice was very flavorful and fresh. The chicken fell off the bone and there were whole chicken legs in the dish. In the Tikka masala, there were chunks of chicken that too were moist and very tender. Now, that garlic naan! When I tell you that's the best tasting bread I've ever had in my life...ohhhh weeeee! I dipped my bread in the Tikka masala and even made a Tikka masala taco with the naan. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The naan is the size of a medium pizza and at a price of $3.50, you can't beat it! Everything is cooked to order so it will take about 20+ mins or so to receive your order. This place is located on Tate street and was packed with customers eating inside, delivery services picking up orders, and call in/walk in orders. I will most definitely be coming back to try other items on the menu. For now, Tikka masala and garlic naan bread is my go-to!

First time...I'll say I'll definitely try it again. I didn't realize it was a sauce I was supposed to use It for left in the bag

This is a tiny little place on Tate St that *specializes* in takeout. The restaurant itself really doesn't have much seating, maybe three or four people could comfortably eat there, so they have mastered their take-away game. As sauce heavy as Indian food is, I wasn't expecting it to travel well, but they have specialized containers for everything and it stays fresh and delicious and doesn't spill easily. The food from here has always been really really good, my only complaint would be that I wish they had a few more menu options (especially for vegans). The Gobi Manchurian is particularly amazing.

Raaz is a nice spot along UNCG to enjoy a fast lunch. My experience went about as expected it was average. The naan garlic bread was the star of the meal. The rice is okay and the palak paneer is meh. The drink machine was only dispensing flavored water and I did not see any tea. All in all it's just okay India food. The restaurant was clean and the lady up front was friendly.

Excellent Indian food in the most unlikely of places

This place was not what I expected, but it turned out perfect. Located in the College Hills section of Greensboro on a block with a very high restaurant density lies tiny little Raaz Indian Kitchen. It is essentially a fast food type set up with very little seating. But let me hasten to add that the taste and quality are far above any kind of fast food experience you would expect. The chicken saag was excellent. The chicken may have been ever so slightly dry, but it was still delicious. I went with "extra hot", and it was fabulous. But I think I'm going to pay a high price for that tomorrow morning. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly and had an excellent consistency. Gobi Manchurian is lightly battered cauliflower sautéed with ginger and garlic sauce. It was indeed lightly battered and had a good taste. The garlic naan was very good--the garlic they put on it was fresh and very tasty after it had been baked in the oven. The order taker was kind and extremely helpful with suggestions. The food here can go toe-to-toe with any "fancy" Indian food. Raaz might lose out in the finals, but they are really good. Raaz Indian Kitchen is a perfect place to get excellent Indian food for take out.

First time at the restaurant and my first time ordering Indian food for myself. There wasn't much traffic (due to COVID) so they were willing to help me with the menu. The choices are very simple you just choose which one you would like and decide on your choice of meat. I decided to order the Lamb Saag (side of rice), garlic naan, and samosa(3 in 1 serving) The samosa was my favorite it was so flavorful, the saag was good I just wish there was more lamb. The garlic naan was okay, I just expected there to he some parsley but thats just based on something I've had previously. Overall I'm happy with my choice and there was a good amount of food so I could have multiple servings.

The definition of delicious! The hunger of smell makes you die for. Thank YOU so much Raaz Indian Kitchen for making my week easier. I love every bits of the meal. I ordered myself rice, which was so well cooked. Also I have myself Tandoori chicken. The chicken was so grilled and had mixed vegetables which was is the best seasoning. The garlic Naan bread was too garlic. But THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!

Curry Chicken, Garlic Naan, Basmati Rice and Potato and Pea Samosas

I was super excited to come back to this place because the first time I order eveything was soooo good. I was extremely disappointed. I ordered the curry and butter chicken and it was all sauce and no chicken (literally only 4 small pieces in a bowl) for the price I would expect more I have not came back to this establishment since

This is the furthest Indian spot in Greensboro from me, but it's my favorite so that's where I go. The food is always hot and fresh and tasty. Today was the first time I experienced a bite of sort of hard, rubbery chicken, but the first time in about three years, so I won't hold it against them. They also pack up every great, so I don't mind indulging in delivery a time or two.

After looking at the menus for a few places, Shukkranaa seemed worth a gamble. The menu boasts everything you'd expect (curries, biryanis, breads, plenty of vegetarian dishes), and under other circumstances, I'd be all over the chicken 65. However, I wanted to give one of their quick lunch specials a try. Available in vegetarian and non-vegetarian versions, the offerings change daily, but they include an appetizer, two curries, salad, rice, bread, and a dessert. At $13 veg/$15 non-veg, that seemed like a good deal for the money. I placed an online order for that day's vegetarian special (paneer kadhai and daal makhani), and it was ready when I arrived. Though Shukkranaa's location (a strip mall near a motel up 68) screams "nondescript," the interior seemed more inviting, and the gentleman at the register was polite. After a short drive home, I was able to enjoy a better-than-expected lunch. It came largely as advertised with a pakora as the appetizer, naan as the bread, and a piece of galub jamun as the dessert (though the "salad" was just a few assorted vegetables). The rice was fragrant, the sauces creamy, the portion size more than respectable, and to my relief, Shukkranaa does NOT hold back on flavor. I don't know if the dine-in experience would be as impressive, and there are certainly other Indian eateries to choose from in the immediate area, but for tasty, convenient takeout, count Shuukranaa as a name to remember.

I wish I could say that it was worth the wait, but my experience here suggested otherwise. Positives first: Noor is both spacious and stylish with plenty of seating in both the bar and dining areas. Sujan proved to be an attentive and courteous server. That said, the buffet was somewhat underwhelming. It was smaller than those I've found elsewhere in the area. While it offered a solid mix of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options, those offerings were the epitome of playing it safe. Only the hakka noodles (not always an Indian buffet staple) and butter chicken (better than average) really stood out. Nothing else, from the tandoori chicken to the daal to the naan, was prepared poorly, but it was fairly forgettable. Granted, buffet food needs to appeal to a wide range of diners with varying levels of spice tolerance, and so I went in not expecting any heat. Take spiciness out of the equation, however, and the flavors still felt subdued. At least the $20 seemed reasonable for what was offered. It's possible that Noor really shines if you order off the regular menu, and so I wouldn't rule out a return here. The next time I want a weekend lunch buffet, however, I think I'll stick to Taaza.

I ordered some classic dishes. The chana masala I got with a spice level below the maximum nonetheless carried a powerful kick. But I also picked a cardamom pod and a clove out of it; these things can be annoyances to the uninitiated but the resulting flavor is worthwhile. Adding a bread and salad turned out to be wise given the heat level. Their interpretation of a salad was a sectioned head of greenery, some other vegetables, and a hint of spices and lemon. My plain paratha was a worthy contrast to the exciting flavors of my main dish. Adding some samosas sprinkles with spices made for a solid two meals at a very reasonable price. I thought I'd finished, but at the bottom of the bag was hiding some complimentary chutney and yogurt and a papadum. The setting was a repurposed fast food drive through. The food was totally worthwhile and despite the bevy of options throughout the settled parts of North Carolina, I experienced no regret at having made this my road trip stop.

I foolishly tried the spice level 3 (out of 5 being the hottest) and should have chosen a 2 spice level. But the cauli was so good I fought through the pain. Worth it. I could have easily stopped there but we also ordered the garlic naan (also yessssss) as well as the Lamb Korma and Chicken Vindaloo. When we ordered, the server explained the 1-5 spice scale, gave recommendations, and even asked about allergies. After the food came out, he continued to check on us. This is definitely not one of those "abandoned in the corner and ignored" type of establishments. We started with an order of chili paneer, with spice level 2. It was perfectly crunchy and super flavorful. Level 2 has a nice kick to it if you sit for a minute between bites, but it doesn't necessarily light you up either. It is a great level if you're sharing something with someone a little more spice-hesitant. I love paneer, and this appetizer had a generous portion that could easily be a meal for 1 person. For my main, I got the Chana masala, spice level 3. This was absolutely delicious! Spicy, warm, flavorful. Chickpeas had the perfect texture -- not too hard nor too mushy. As a spicy food enjoyer, level 3 was a nice level that is hot and ~just~ starts to make my face flush, but isn't overpowering. A "conversational" level if you will. I could easily order this on a work lunch and could still eat with decorum. We also got garlic naan, which is always a hit, but done absolutely perfectly here. Pillowy, soft, fresh, and generous with the garlic.
