This was my first experience with Indian food and it was delightful. I knew it was gonna be good as soon as I stepped into the restaurant and the smell of rich spices filled the air. I got enough for two meals (will be eating for lunch tomorrow lol) so that I could try some of dishes I'd heard were delicious. I started with the veggie samosas. They were crispy and packed full with potatoes and peas. The flavor was rich and contrast of the crunchy exterior to soft middle was fun! My first dish I ordered was the veggie Biryani.... Well I got a little surprise and it turned out to be chicken. Which thankfully isn't a problem because I eat meat. But if you don't - might wanna check first. It was interesting flavor and paired perfectly with this garlicky, cilantro yogurt sauce. The start of the show was no doubt the butter chicken masala with the garlic naan. Omg omg omg I was in heaven! The chicken was tender and the curry sauce was so luscious and paired perfectly with the garlic butter naan. I wanna eat this everyday of my life now. Raaz is exactly what you expect from a college curry spot. It is good food at a great price. It certainly is not the best Indian food in the Triad, but it is clean, tasty, and offers a number of vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. There are some Mongolian dishes on the menu but overall the menu is pretty standard. Very good value for the money and good quality food. Recommended. read more

I had never had Indian food before I visited this restaurant. I can say that I'm a fan of chicken biryani and chicken Tikka masala! I got them both mild spiced because I like to taste my food and my palate will need more refining for the spice life. Lol. The biryani rice was very flavorful and fresh. The chicken fell off the bone and there were whole chicken legs in the dish. In the Tikka masala, there were chunks of chicken that too were moist and very tender. Now, that garlic naan! When I tell you that's the best tasting bread I've ever had in my life...ohhhh weeeee! I dipped my bread in the Tikka masala and even made a Tikka masala taco with the naan. I could eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The naan is the size of a medium pizza and at a price of $3.50, you can't beat it! Everything is cooked to order so it will take about 20+ mins or so to receive your order. This place is located on Tate street and was packed with customers eating inside, delivery services picking up orders, and call in/walk in orders. This is a tiny little place on Tate St that *specializes* in takeout. The restaurant itself really doesn't have much seating, maybe three or four people could comfortably eat there, so they have mastered their take-away game. As sauce heavy as Indian food is, I wasn't expecting it to travel well, but they have specialized containers for everything and it stays fresh and delicious and doesn't spill easily. The food from here has always been really really good, my only complaint would be that I wish they had a few more menu options (especially for vegans). These guys have the best desi (Indian/Pakistani) meat dishes - I wish they had more items on the menu. It is most authentic and when you order you need to specify Speak with Lara (receptionist) or Raaz (Owner) or have them bring Nasreen their chef (from Karachi Pakistan) on phone to place your orders. Biryani - specify you want karachi style, with moist and tender chicken or mutton and with potatoes added. Also, that fresh rice is used with long grain (biryani after the curry is cooked is then steamed in half cooked rice for an additional 30'minutes). Request to layer w/ tomato, lemons, and fresh green chillies). Order a min of 4 biryanis. Once you get your Biryani this way (traditional) you will never order elsewhere ... as Nasreen uses fresh meat and ingredients ... Compared to other Indian restaurants that use left over rice and same curry they use for other dishes ... here it's prepared to order, hence the wait (and no it won't be too spicy even with green chillies Their chicken curry, mutton vindaloo, butter chicken and even the PK/British dish of chicken tikka masala are just like home cooked (always, remind them on phone to make it karachi style) Been ordering from them since they opened, and the quality has not dipped..... all I want them to do is add more dishes....like keema (ground beef), kababs, more vegetarian dishes. read more

The rice is okay and the palak paneer is meh. The drink machine was only dispensing flavored water and I did not see any tea. All in all it's just okay India food. This place was not what I expected, but it turned out perfect. Located in the College Hills section of Greensboro on a block with a very high restaurant density lies tiny little Raaz Indian Kitchen. It is essentially a fast food type set up with very little seating. But let me hasten to add that the taste and quality are far above any kind of fast food experience you would expect. The chicken saag was excellent. The chicken may have been ever so slightly dry, but it was still delicious. I went with "extra hot", and it was fabulous. But I think I'm going to pay a high price for that tomorrow morning. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly and had an excellent consistency. Gobi Manchurian is lightly battered cauliflower sautéed with ginger and garlic sauce. It was indeed lightly battered and had a good taste. The garlic naan was very good--the garlic they put on it was fresh and very tasty after it had been baked in the oven. The order taker was kind and extremely helpful with suggestions. The food here can go toe-to-toe with any "fancy" Indian food. Raaz might lose out in the finals, but they are really good. The choices are very simple you just choose which one you would like and decide on your choice of meat. I decided to order the Lamb Saag (side of rice), garlic naan, and samosa(3 in 1 serving) The samosa was my favorite it was so flavorful, the saag was good I just wish there was more lamb. The garlic naan was okay, I just expected there to he some parsley but thats just based on something I've had previously. It's not fancy. I don't care. I have been here multiple times, and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious, and the gentleman who took our order made me want to be his friend. We even got to thank the chef, which sounds silly, but I secretly love him. We had lamb korma 4/5 spice bc the p doesn't like 5... I wanted more heat, but he doesn't. Has some spice even if you don't ask for it to be spicy.) - Saag w/ chicken (looooved this and can't wait to get it again, but I didn't need the chicken - veg would be my preference) -Aloo Gobi (fine; not spicy AT ALL, so great for someone who cannot handle any heat, but I enjoyed the other dishes more). - Garlic naan (hit the spot for me, a garlic lover. next time I want to try the cheesy naan) Note* we placed an order for a family of four and 2/4 people cannot handle spicy food, so we asked for NO level of heat for these dishes. A true surprise. Had the vindaloo chicken and garlic naan for dinner and found the spice balance just right. I enjoy spicy food and this threaded the needle just right. The details...I walked in and ordered dinner on a Saturday night...had not eaten there before. It is counter service and designed for to-go, but don't let that deter you, the food quality was as good as I've had at any Indian restaurant. Also, I'm a relationship sort of person and I found the staff to be very nice and helpful...I'd go back just for them! My only concern is that there were no condiments...I have been trained to have onion chutney and all sorts of hot sauces, and, they had none. Whoa! What a gem to find near UNC-G's campus. The kitchen is readily visible - your food is absolutely made fresh and right when you order. The establishment is very clean! Definitely felt safe eating here. The staff were very patient as I debated on what to get. I eventually settled on the chicken biryani - mild. So good! Flavorful with hearty chunks of chicken. Portions are good for the price. I had enough for a leftover snack for later. Parking is a pain but otherwise, I'll definitely stop in again for Indian food. read more

The first thing that stood out was the prices of the dishes, they are 25-50% less expensive compared to other Indian restaurants. Which to me is welcoming since I do enjoy ordering multiple dishes. Chicken tikka masala: flavorful, tender chicken that had been seasoned and grilled. 5/5 Chicken Vindaloo: flavorful and distinguishable from the tikka masala 5/5 Chicken biryani: packed with flavor, and again the chicken itself tasted great! 5/5 Chicken kebabs: good but it is not chicken kebab. Garlic nan: 3/5 a bit too salty for my taste. Overall the best curries in town. They actually use meat that tastes good. Most of the Indian restaurants I have been to in town have meat that is quite questionable. Typically hard as a rock. Although I did not go into the restaurant I am still very pleased with the food and service they gave. They went beyond and double wrapped the dishes I got so there was no accidents with the delivery which I really appreciated. Originally named Taaz Indian Kitchen, the name was too close to another Indian cuisine outlet in town and both businesses lost out on customers because of the confusion. Every time I visited, multiple drivers from delivery services arrived and departed carrying bags, coolers and parcels stuffed to the brim with food boxes. Ordering in the restaurant is easy too, as you order at the counter and you can see the kitchen from the front door. The entire menu has items not just from the subcontinent of India but also Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Nepal and Bangladesh.  There are eight naan options to choose from here, including cheese, garlic, butter (which is just plain with some butter brushed on) all garnished with fresh chopped parsley. The rest of the appetizer menu is extensive, and the little pockets of heavily spiced vegetables called samosas are a solid bet. The samosas come in threes and are served with two sauces: a fresh herbed cilantro and mint sauce redolent with a bit of spice that hits you on the back of the palate. There's also a thick, sweet tamarind chutney that tastes of deep, dark raisins with the tang and tartness of the tamarind rounding out the melange of flavors. The momo is not an internet hoax that began in 2018, it's a steamed Nepalese meat-filled dumpling served with a creamy tomato sauce. Katti rolls are like a sandwich or a burrito, as it's baked chicken strips wrapped in thin, crispy roti. As far as entrees go, the chicken tikka, butter chicken and biryani are all solid choices, but the Chicken 65 and Chicken 555 are both dishes that are more flavorful and worth a try. Heavily spiced and marinated chicken in sauce and served with rice, there's more than meets the eye once paired with accompanying sliced onions and lemon slices. Don't skip dessert. Kulfi, the frozen treat is a ubiquitous Indian delight. But it's the Gulab Jamun, which are sweet, soft spongy dough balls soaked in cardamom-spiced sugar syrup, which are the must-have. Think of them like fried doughnut holes soaked in simple syrup or Greek loukoumades. read more

None of the staff wear masks. No matter how early you order food to pick up, you will still wait at least 15 to get it when you arrive. Food was given away to someone else which then resulted in our food being remade only after 10+ people were served, making us wait 30+ minutes in the restaurant. Great food at a great price! We visited Raaz's kitchen on my husband's friend's recommendations. The place is clean and well maintained. I can't call it a fine dinner, but you have seats to enjoy ur food alone or with the whole family. They made the best Delhi snacks. Whether it's a samosa or Kathi roll, they made me feel like I have it in my hometown. My fav is Chowmin (noodles) and momos. Honestly, they made the best Indo-Chinese food in the triad. My husband's fav is goat curry and chicken tikka masala, and my daughter loves their mango lassi very much. The quantity of food is also good.
