Damaged wheel when changing front tire and refuse to repair or replace. Don't get any service done…read morehere.

Summer of 2024 I purchased a 2010 Kawasaki Vulcan 900 with ~4,000 miles for $2,500. What followed…read morewas a series of negligent misrepresentations, failed repair attempts, and what I believe to be deliberate omission of known mechanical faults that put my life at risk. Timeline of Events and Failures: 1. Upon purchasing the bike I rode it home the same day, and immediately experienced a loss of throttle power once the bike warmed up--a dangerous and obvious defect. 2. I returned the bike to Johnny K's Elyria. They retained it for several weeks with no communication unless I initiated it. Eventually, I was told it needed new spark plugs. I agreed to a reduced service fee (approx. $100) despite the issue occurring instantly after purchase. I was told by Johnny K's in Elyria the issue was solved and the bike was fixed. 3. When I arrived to pick up the "repaired" bike, it wouldn't start--dead battery. After jumping it, I drove home only to find the issue was not resolved at all. 4. I brought the bike back again, and was then told it needed a new throttle body, costing thousands. When I spoke with the Elyria manager, I expressed concern about being sold a defective vehicle. His response: "We priced it accordingly." This strongly suggests the dealership had knowledge of the defect prior to sale. 5. The dealership agreed to replace the throttle body--using a used component purchased on eBay. The issue remained unresolved after installation. 6. I was referred to another Johnny K's location, which then told me the bike needed a new ECU--another $900+ repair. 7. Seeking more qualified diagnostics, I took the bike to an independent motorcycle mechanic. They found: * The battery was defective and should have been caught immediately. * Replacing the battery and debaffling the exhaust improved the problem, but it persisted. * Ultimately, they replaced the entire exhaust system--and still, the bike was not fixed. * The mechanic now suspects the throttle body was never actually replaced, directly contradicting Johnny K's statement. Summary: * The motorcycle never functioned properly from day one. * The dealership failed to disclose critical issues and sold the vehicle in unroadworthy condition. * Internal communication was poor, repair attempts were ineffective or possibly fraudulent, and the manager's own admission suggests prior knowledge of the defect. * I am now over $3,000 into a bike that does not function--with mounting evidence that this situation stems from misrepresentation, negligence, and possibly fraud.

Let this serve as a major red flag to anyone considering entrusting their vehicle to ClevelandMoto…read more Based on his rhetoric and professed expertise on all things Piaggio and Moto Guzzi as relayed to me during our initial conversation, I anticipated a knowledgeable and thorough evaluation and repair of my new, under warranty Piaggio Beverly 400 from Phil Waters. At 350 miles my oil warning light came on. I did NOT purchase the scooter from ClevelandMoto but, as the closest authorized Piaggio service facility, I took it there for repair where I was assured by Waters that he'd resolve the issue. Over the next month, after multiple phone calls and an additional personal visit to his dealership at 2 weeks after drop-off, I was told that his request for parts from Piaggio was denied and that I should contact Piaggio personally to motivate their regional service managers as he could not execute the repair - allegedly a full wiring harness replacement - without their involvement. I contacted Piaggio Corporate and they responded and intervened almost immediately. They communicated with me and ClevelandMoto in a timely and professional manner via both phone and email. However, at day 28 with my scooter still in his shop, I was notified by Waters/ClevelandMoto that the repair had not and would not be executed due to man-hours required for the repair and parts availability. At that point, after 30 days of down time and with no repair, I was advised by Piaggio Corporate that dedicated national technical support along with guaranteed parts acquisition were made available to ClevelandMoto, and, as their dealer showed a continued reluctance to initiate a repair, I was directed by Piaggio to have the scooter transported at their expense to a different Piaggio dealer. On the day of pick-up I requested a work order and was told one wasn't available. I was also advised by Waters to pursue a Lemon Law action against Piaggio. The scooter was transported to Pony Powersports, Columbus, Ohio, and an electrical fault with the oil sensor was located and repaired. Total warranty time charged to Piaggio - 2 hours. Kudos to both Piaggio and Pony Powersports. They did in 2 hours what ClevelandMoto and Phil Waters couldn't or wouldn't do in 30 days.

We ended up purchasing a Vespa and I am so happy we did. The purchasing process was easy and straightforward, and since the scooter I wanted was in the store it only took a couple days to get everything done and take her home! I would recommend anyone looking for a scooter to come here, and the people here are awesome and make the experience really fun.
