My husband and I have come here for five years. Food is good and the staff is great. Excluding the owner. Tonight we come and we are charged three dollars for a splash of pineapple juice in our cocktail. Then we are told that if we want an extra thing of $.25 ranch it is also an up charge. This place is good at nickel and dime all of their customers. It is time for us to look for another local restaurant to go to. The owner is only out to make extra money off his customers. Finally gave this place a try after being hesitant to go in based on the exterior of the building. I was pleasantly surprised and found the inside to be pretty decent. It's your standard bar and grill setup with booths, tables, high tops , and bar seating. There's also a game room with pool tables and some video games. The food was pretty good for the area. The boneless buffalo wings were good as was the grilled chicken sandwich. There are a lot of options on the menu, so we will definitely be back. A few gripes: some of the servers seemed new or unfamiliar with the menu and the menus we got didn't have any descriptions. That would help out a great deal for people with food allergies or just want to know what comes on their burger when there are like 8 different kinds on the list. Also, we wanted to order a side of onion rings, but apparently cannot be ordered as a stand-alone side. Lost opportunity of additional revenue because the computer can't ring up an order of onion rings? Strange. read more

First time here, wanted to love it since our normal go-to restaurants are closed on Monday in Azle. Ordered chicken fried chicken and received gravy soup with chicken on top. The waitress didn't bother to tell me one of the sides I ordered wasn't available until food was coming out. When asked what else I wanted, I asked to see the menu. Instead of just bringing it to me, she got huffy and instead rambled about macaroni and cheese or mashed potatoes. I work in the customer service industry and would never treat my customers this way. We finished, paid our bill and went to leave. Hostess didn't even bother to tell us goodbye or even acknowledge us. I wish I could say we would go back, but we will not. read more

This was my second visit. The first time was at lunch and I sat at the bar. The bartender wasn't rude, but seemed more interested in talking to the guests and servers at the end of the bar than to check on me. She took my order and left me there. Someone else even ran my food to me. Speaking of food. I got the chicken fried steak. It wasn't the worst I've ever had, but I've had cafeteria chicken fried steak that was better quality. It had so much sinew that I had to reach into my mouth and pull out the inedible, unchewable bits several times. I left that day very dissatisfied all around. Today, I decided to give it another try. This time for dinner. I was going to try the green chile burger. I walked in and sat down at one of the small round tables in front of the bar. And there I sat for a good 5 minutes. I kept turning around and looking at the bartender. She was completely indifferent to my existence. She looked straight at me a couple of times and yet made no effort to acknowledge me. 5 minutes of not being greeted is unacceptable and is a good indication of the service you'd get if you were to stay. I chose not to stay. I got up and left and took my business elsewhere. In a previous life I managed restaurants. My servers were trained to watch the door and their tables like a hawk. Guests were to be greeted within 30 seconds of entering. No exceptions. Even if it's just to tell them that someone will be with them shortly. Same with tables. Greeted within 30 seconds of being sat. If you see another server's table get sat and they are not around, YOU greet the table and tell them their server will be with them shortly, then go tell the server they've been sat. It's not hard. It does take commitment to customer service, however; and t seems that On The Patio has a problem with that concept. At least on the first two visits. I intend to give them a third chance. If I get poor quality customer service or food again, they will lose a customer for life. But given their lack of commitment to customer service thus far, they may not even care... Conversely, if I get stellar customer service and/or I love the food the next time, I will not hesitate to leave a much more positive review. Commensurate with the experience, of course. Ive been coming here since they opened several years ago. The burgers are absolutely delicious; brioche bun and a flavorful and generously sized patty. The chicken friend steak and fried catfish are quite good also, as well as the fried sides. My father likes the BLT; my husband gets the wings (good but overpriced for the quantity) and there is a large variety of cocktails and a few craft type beers. Limited wine menu. Especially nice in winter - go sit next to a large stone fireplace. read more

Really like this place the bartenders are attentive we usually sit at the bar. We did sit in the restaurant one time and the seats need to be replaced the stuffing is coming out of them. But other than that the atmosphere is nice. There is a nice selection of food and most of it is really good. I recommend the flat bread pizza it's pretty good and the hamburgers. Not sure if they have bands or music but it would be nice out on the patio once in a while. read more

We ate here for an anniversary lunch a year or two pre-Pandemic, and I have to say that the bathroom is unrecognizable from then -- it's sparkling clean! Since then we have ordered from here several times through DoorDash, and the food has been reliably tasty and bounteous. Today our cheery, helpful server, Makenzie, helped us navigate through the *spiral-bound* giant menu (the last two pages list all the beers and alcohol/cocktails they offer) to the Lunch Combos. Himself had the Fried Catfish and French Fries, and I had the Philly Cheesesteak and Fries. His catfish was an enormous slab, and he just devoured it. My sandwich was excellent: the beef was just a tad thicker than shaved, the vegetables were just right and not too plentiful, and the Provolone was perfectly proportioned and delicious. The Hoagie roll was perfect! The tea is brewed and good. The food here is excellent and reasonably priced. We'll be back soon! read more

My wife and I dine here fairly often. Service is usually good. Food is good. Atmosphere is OK. One of our 3 favorite places to dine in Azle.

The only thing I eat here is the Philly cheesesteak with mushrooms and sidewinder fries. You will not be disappointed.

Staff was really nice and helpful however the food was not anything to boast about, I ordered hot wings which was still cold in the middle. The place seems to be more of a bar than a restaurant. This is why I gave this place a one star...The worst part was while we were still at our booth a roach crawled across the seat and there was a few flies buzzing around. read more

Catfish was very good and some of the best fries. My wife and I had two plates for $22 and that included one side and two large catfish.

My fiancé and I were out at the little park down the way and we were starting to get hungry. He looked up some where to eat that is not fast food and that was a smaller hole in the wall place. The service was absolutely fantastic. The food was incredible! We sat on the patio and there was a nice cool breeze not super crowded ( around 2:15 pm ) I had the shrimp tacos and he had a urban cowboy burger. Both were super fresh and tasted absolutely delicious. We will 100% be back and we have already been recommending it to friends and family. This place has good burgers but they all taste the same lol. I had the mushroom Swiss and it was very big and good. My brother had the Cajun burger and it looked exactly the same except had onions instead of mushrooms, he didn't know what made it Cajun lol. None the less they are good burgers. I subbed the regular fries for their upgraded fries which are like curly wedge fries and super yummy. They have lots of other options on the menu but we just came for burgers and fries. read more
