We stopped in to grab a cup of coffee and a pastry. What an adorable place! We were greeted by a very friendly Lady who made us feel at home. The inside is pretty with linen table cloths and artwork done by local artists of Rye Beach and the Boardwalk. We ordered a cinnamon coffee cake, a cup of coffee, and an iced tea. The cinnamon coffee cake was hot and fresh out of the oven. Just delicious! Coffee was freshly brewed and the iced tea was perfect. We will be back for lunch soon! read more

One of my favorite breakfast places in Westchester. My fiancé and I usually go here and then head for a walk at the beach. Their pancakes are some of the best around. They taste delicious and are so fluffy and airy. They also have the best omelets and home fries. The cafe is run by a husband and wife. They are the sweetest and kindest people. Always remember us when we go and makes up feel special. Definitely try this place for your next Sunday breakfast. read more

This is, without question, the best restaurant in all of Westchester. The menus for breakfast or lunch are truly amazing. I truly believe that the people who own and run this incredible place should be given a medal for running this masterpiece. worst spot! only saw waiter twice - once to order food and then again when he dropped it off. i ordered the yogurt with granola on the side and fruit and he brought it with granola on it and said "oh the chef must have misunderstood" but didn't swap it out or make it right. never checked on us. would not recommend. sad. has potential and sweet environment but not good enough to have crappy service. better off going to the market next door. read more

If I could give it a zero, I would. The menus are filthy. Not a good look to start. The pancakes are thick, doughy, with a terrible aftertaste that lasted all afternoon. My dining companions, who ordered well-done scrambled eggs and toast, received a plate of gooey yellow stuff and soggy, cold toast. The server was rude, spoke in a loud voice, and seemed annoyed to have to take our orders. At meal's end, I took note that it was cash only and paid by Zelle, using the phone number listed on their website. It didn't go through. The manager gave me a completely different number, and then said use the QR code, which I finally did, holding up my party, who were anxious to get out of there after experiencing the filthy restroom. When I saw that the payment went through, the establishment had a different name: "We're On The Way." Come on, man--put your Zelle number on the check--make it easier to pay, at least! And clean up your act. It's probably safer to eat at Playland. read more

So disappointing! I had read good reviews and was looking forward to trying this place. the service was pretty abysmal - for a place the specializes on breakfast, they did not seem ready for a Sunday crowd (and it wasn't even full). The bathroom was really dirty - the floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in months. We ordered the special eggs in purgatory - almost inedible. the tomato sauce was nothing special and the bread underneath was completely soggy. I had asked for my eggs to be cooked medium and they were super runny. Coffee was weak. We left and had to go home and eat breakfast again because we could only eat a few bites. I have heard the baked good are good, so maybe we just should have had scrambled eggs and a muffin. I won't be going back. read more

My family and I stopped here on our way back to Maryland coming from Cape Cod. It was highly rated on yelp, so we decided to give it a go. We called about 30 minutes prior to inquire if they has space for a party of 9. When we arrived, our table was set up! We were greeted and escorted to our seats. The service was very friendly! The woman who explained the menu and specials to us seemed to be one of the owners. She made great recommendations. I decided on the crab and goat cheese omelet which was delicious! I am a huge fan of goat cheese, so I appreciated this addition. Others had pancakes and French toast which were said to be fresh and delicious. I enjoyed my experience here and would recommend checking them out when you are on your way ;). read more

Have been here twice and thought it was alright both times. Definitely pricey for what you get. I got the parmesan and chive omelette with home fries and toast, all of which was good. My husband ordered the buffalo omelette, which sounds interesting, except it was just eggs with cholula hot sauce poured over it, womp womp. Also, the portion sizes are waaay small; serving the meal on square plates that were far too big made the amount of food look almost comical. We also ordered a short stack of banana walnut pancakes, which they are known for. The pancakes themselves were good, on the small side (of course), and priced at what a full stack should be. And the syrup we were given was weirdly not sweet? I don't even know how it's possible to have unsweet maple syrup, but here we are and that unfortunately kind of ruined it. On the previous occasion, my husband ordered a corned beef sandwich he thought was great, however my meal wasn't as memorable as I can't recall it. The food itself is not the issue, it's the portion sizes, especially for the price, and having a cantankerous waiter didn't help either. I was debating between 2 or 3 stars, but then the image of my husband eating my toast to try and feel full popped in my head and that's just unacceptable. Sorry, but it's not like they are serving truffles and caviar. Throwing in an extra egg and some potatoes would be cheap enough and keep customers coming back. read more

What a quaint little cafe whether you are headed north or south or anywhere in between. The food was delicious, as everything is locally grown. I had a delicious egg white goat cheese frittata and for dessert my friend and I shared a blueberry crumb cake which had blueberries inside and it was still warm. I wish I was local so I could go more often. I went here while I was in New Cannan for work and we were looking for a solid, hardy breakfast --- something that isn't easy to find when traveling for work with a small timeline. I ordered a dish that was on the specials list and I will say, it has changed my entire way of eating eggs. They made poached eggs but instead of using just water to boil and poach, they did it in tomato sauce. It added flavor, spice and was a delicious sauce to accompany my breakfast. Since then, it inspired me to do the same and even take it a step further, salsa/hot sauce. This cafe was delightful. 7/30/21: NOTE: Cash only as well, but they have an ATM inside. INSIDE: Can accommodate a decent amount of people. Old school look and feel, but clean. STAFF: Cordial, and give you space to relax and eat. Came a couple of times to ask if we needed refills of coffee. FOOD: SHORT STACK PANCAKES: $9.00 The short stack was 2 3/4" thick pancakes for $9.00. Expensive for the amount of food. Definitely something to order if you aren't really hungry and are looking to just have a light meal to start the day. Not sure why it's even called a stack...Isn't a stack 3? "THREE" EGG OMELET: $14.00 The omelet, which is stated on the menu to be a three egg omelet, is the smallest three egg omelet I've ever ordered. And at $14.00 it is really a bit ridiculous. The amount of home fries was small as well. Even the size of the slides of rye toast are small. Tasted fine but nothing memorable. SIDE OF SAUSAGE: $5.00 In addition, I ordered a side of sausage for $5.00. Three jones pork sausage sized sausages. At $1.66 each, and tasting similar to jones pork sausages, no value or quantity here to justify $5.00. For $34.00 total (without tip) for a "three" egg omelet, toast, 3 sausage links, four or five forks fulls of home fries, 2 short stack pancakes and coffee: it's a "Rye" type of place to have breakfast. Unfortunately will not return for a $40.00 breakfast for two with tip, where I was hungry after I left. read more

So I ordered one with raw onions, relish, light, sauerkraut, and bacon. After about 12 minutes, it came out. It was very impressive looking. Nice toasted roll hotdog split in half just the right proportions of each of the ingredients on the top all the ingredients complimented each other, but didn't take away from the taste of the hotdog itself. I could tell all the toppings on the hot dog . Were of very good quality. The only criticism I would have is that the portion of the steak in the sandwich was not as much as I had expected. Even though the price of everything has gone up for $18, I would've expected a l more meat in the sandwich. But I would go back there again and try one of the cheeseburgers and most likely get the hotdog again along with french fries The service from the young lady was very good

It's a true locals spot that those in the neighborhood patronize as while there I saw a bunch of them getting their day drinking on during early afternoon. It's an old school working mans bar with a bit of a worn look but in a good way.
