They said they'd (finally) deliver it the day after I came in looking for it 27 days later. They did not. Oh, and they're closed weekends so that adds another three days having to wait (assuming it shows up Monday! They may know how to clean clothes (even repair them - although since I haven't seen my garment, I can't actually attest to that!!), but their customer service is absolutely dismal! There are a handful of other places to go in the neighborhood. GO TO ONE OF THEM. THAT'S WHAT I'M GOING TO DO!

But the quality of the work they did was more than acceptable, the staff was very agreeable. they got the job done quickly and the prices were the most reasonable in NYC I've encountered. I've already used them twice but I'd refrain from asking for more than simple alterations. Perhaps I'm underestimating their skills but I'm risk averse.

It's easier and often of less cost in the short run to take short cuts at the expense of customer loyalty and sense of receiving the best of treatment from a person and business you may rarely see in this age of pickup and delivery. If you're reading this all the way through, good on you and better for you. I can confidently state Champion Cleaners is a service you can count on to pickup and deliver as if you know Josh and his business as a brick and mortar. Understand what that means in this day and age. Understand you will be a loyal customer of Champion Cleaners without question. How often can one state that these days...? Let me give you my most recent example. I have a white Guayabera all linen long sleeve shirt with the vertical pleats on the front, the kind you can wear to church, to weddings, to fine dining, and on important dates. Now then let that shirt be unknowingly stained in multiple places on each sleeve by a dark and tarry mushroom supplement you take. You think, "this shirt is ruined on the first wear." Not so quick with Josh and Champion Cleaners. I texted Josh and told him of the challenge to clean this shirt. He replied, "we'll do our best." Their best at Champion Cleaners was well up to the job and I texted Josh that perhaps he heard the applause coming from my direction in the still of the early morning in the City. Josh and Champion Cleaners can save you money and save your garments. Five stars!

I brought the dress in to have the top taken in because it was too long for my torso. Instead of adjusting it properly, they unevenly cut into the dress, leaving it totally unbalanced and disproportionate. One shoulder now has ruffles, the other doesn't. One side of the chest has a 2.5-inch seam, the other is barely 1 inch. It looks like two different dresses sewn together. And when I expressed how upset I was, with only three days before the wedding I needed it for, the seamstress actually yelled at me and blamed my body for her mistake. They charged me $100 for work that destroyed my dress. Save yourself the stress, money, and frustration. Go literally anywhere else.

Natasha altered it well, and it fit before I left the store - however, upon getting to my wedding and hanging up my dress, we realized the inner most layer of fabric still had about 10 safety pins in it and the hem was never finished. I was constantly stepping on the innermost layer. Also, she had told me she would add to the bustle on the dress to be more secure, which was not done. The bustle broke off the dress, and the back of the dress ended up having to be safety pinned in order for me to dance during the evening. If not for having very crafty friends and family, the poor job Natasha did would have really affected the evening. If given Natasha as a seamstress, ensure everything you've asked for is 100% completed before leaving.

The stain was gone enough where I could wear it in public without worry. If you do have particular spots on an item you want worked on, it's best you let them know so they can note them all. I seem to get the same older gentleman here helping me and he's always been nice. -- PRICING -- Prices are relatively high, but you're in Midtown Manhattan. Leather and wool items will cost a penny, but regular suit jackets and pants are reasonable. -- CLEANING TIME -- They give you an estimated time when you drop your clothes off and they've been on time every time I've been here. If you want to check, give them a call in advance. Once, I forgot about a blazer for a few months, but luckily they will keep your things up to six months. -- SUMMARY -- All it takes is one stain on an expensive piece of clothing until you truly understand the value of a good dry cleaner.
