Not reliable! Called beforehand to get an eta for alterations and was told it would take two days, came in the same day and was told it would take three days. Came in after three days to pick up my items and they weren't done, for some reason they CHOSE to leave mine and another customers' clothes unaltered but finished everyone else's. Staff told me I could just take my clothes unaltered if I wasn't willing to wait which is such a dismissive and idgaf attitude, very off-putting. Was told to come in after another two days. We'll see if its finished by then... If you say the items will be ready a certain day, uphold that. You can't expect people to just keep coming in and keep stretching deadlines - we are all very busy!! Not professional at all. Will not be back. read more

Absolutely awful. They ruin clothing. Alterations too. They will go through your dry cleaning for the sole purpose of being creepy. Gramercy cleaners will also try to hoard your clothing, purposefully delaying the delivery. It is almost comical how this business is run. Lots of better cleaners in the area! I'm a 29 year old male PhD who travels quite a bit for conferences and work. We all know we can't afford a second suit, so it's imperative that your dry cleaner works the first time. Tldr: cheap, quick, good service, and easy. I try to save money and time when it comes to dry cleaning, so it's nice that this place is cheaper then most places in NYC. In addition, there was a quick turn around. I do have a very nice dark blue suit (Z Zegna - $1000+) that I try to take care of every year. The suit was cleaned without issues and returned in a timely manner (same day or a 1-3 depending on traffic). Recently moved into the area and needed to find a good dry cleaners for laundry pick up / delivery and came across Gramercy Cleaners. They are under new management and have are now an eco friendly / green cleaners which was great to hear! I ended up stopping by because I needed to hem two dress pants for a work trip and they were able to hand it back within 24 hours right before I got on my flight! The store has a changing room so I was able to tell the tailor, Tim exactly where I wanted my pants cut. He was very friendly and the process was very quick. I paid $20 per pants to get them hemmed and I would highly recommend them if you need a tailor for alterations! read more

I always come to Gramercy Cleaners for all my dry cleaning needs on the clothes that matter to me the most. My white blazer had some stains on it and I was worried they would not come out but their team was able to take care of it for me and it looks brand new! They have great prices, work quickly, and will evaluate and work on the item with love and care and transparency. Great service and cleaning for high-end men's clothing. I own a white dress shirt and blue blazer from Theory and I wore it in the rain once. These things were very smelly and the cleaners got this fixed asap. I also got my blazer hemmed in the photos, and the Korean lady who did it was super nice! I work in the neighborhood so I do my dry clean and alteration with them, and it seems that they are under new management and just got a eco friendly or kind of organic dry clean method (got this info from Jimmy the front desk man which is very attentive staff). This place is well organized and well established business if you compare to other dry cleaners in this area, and I think they are the only one in gramercy that still done the work in the premises. I never use their pick-up and drop-off service but I'm sure that must be great too. And the tailor is definitely 5 stars. Absolutely recommended. read more

I gave them my jacket a month ago to put in a new lining-the job was botched, the lining longer than the jacket and the seams sloppy. It's hard to find a good dry cleaner, especially one that can cure horrific stains. I brought a light grey, full length silk jumpsuit to Gramercy Cleaners after a friend spilled (poured really) a glass of pims down my entire backside. The stainage was awful and ran the full length of the garment. In two days, the jumpsuit came back stain-free and pressed -- all for a mere $12.50. I have been bringing my cleaning to Gramercy Dry Cleaners for over a year. Generally speaking they have been helpful and the dry cleaning has been fine. At the end of May I had a silk shirt dry (Equipment $150+ ) cleaned and recently took it out of the bag to wear it. It was ruined. I took it back to the cleaners where they argued with me, repeatedly told me it was my fault, told me I must have gotten the stain on the shirt, and my fault for not inspecting my dry cleaning after picking it up. Mistakes happen. After how much I spent at the dry cleaners I expected them to acknowledge the situation and offset the cost of replacement. I have set up a merchant dispute with my credit card company and will also be contacting the better business bureau. read more

Very reliable dry cleaning company. When I call, they typically have the delivery guy at my door in minutes. The fluff and fold is good as well. They take good instructions and follow them for the most part. They also offer free winter storage. Perhaps most cleaners offer this, I don't know?... I had about 18 items to be stored (which are dry cleaned, packaged and put away for however long you need those heavy coats and such to be gone!) my bill came to $150 for all those items to be stored and cleaned. They have gotten most every stain out, if not every stain. They also have an alterations guy but it's expensive. I had a silk Cami hemmed for a dress and it was $20 basically to just have the length off. read more

In my quest for the perfect dry cleaners I tried this place.The price seemed reasonable. The first few loads of wash and fold were fine. I felt comfortable with dropping off some of my boyfriends work clothes that were wash and hang /dry clean only.The first few loads of dry clean/wash and hang were ok. I picked up some of his work shirts last week and found one had a huge iron burn mark right on the front.You can't miss the giant burn mark. They didn't even mention to me they ruined the shirt when I picked up. I came back later with the shirt and showed them while complaining. Not even a sorry for ruining the shirt. I said there is no excuse for ruining a expensive shirt. He said it's not that expensive with a smug look on his face. I'm sorry rude man behind the counter a shirt that retails for a $100.00 bucks plus is expensive to a lot of people. Apparently, this guy is rolling in the dough.I didn't know dry cleaning was such a profitable profession. Your not suppose to ruin peoples clothing your job is to clean the clothes. Same week -I bought new towels and dropped them off for cleaning and one towel came back covered with bleach marks all over. The guy behind the counter was like are you sure you didn't buy them like this? Seriously? These towels were brand new never used. This place won't accept responsibility for the items they ruin in their care. Very Nice, they always remember me, and my siblings. They give my dog treats when I bring him in, which is great considering most dry cleaners wont let me bring him inside at all. They are always ready on time. If you point out spots they make sure to get them out. Tailoring service is good, not great. I use them to shorten pants but wouldn't go to them with important or difficult jobs. Great as a dry cleaner. read more
