I have been a customer since the company went by the name Hamilton Air Mart back in the 1960's/70's... All the service visits have been good. However, the pricing for Parts is astronomical! I just paid $380 for a start up kit that should have cost no more than $50 (L40S Compressor Saver), and a UV Light was priced to me at $896, which I have continuously refused at every maintenance visit. A very small foam strip (L1lS Algae Prevention Pan Treatment) about 10 inches long soaked in something is sold for $99, and I have never bought it again after paying for the first one. The filters are sold for $182 for 4 filters, which is quite expensive. The company needs to find a different way to recover their costs other than astronomically inflating the price of products or parts that they push you to buy!! Since my outside unit is only 4 1/2 years old (and cost over $8,000), I am not convinced that this Compressor Saver was not covered by warranty. I pay monthly for service. OTE called me to schedule my fall service and we scheduled it for a Wednesday. I received a call while I was out doing errands and was told they would be at my house in 45 minutes. I rushed home and no one ever showed. Finally got a call in the evening saying that the tech got tied up on a call and we rescheduled for the 1st appt. (between 9am-10am) on Saturday. Waited til almost 3pm and no one showed and left for the grocery store. At 3pm got a text saying the tech was on his way. I went back home. At 5pm no one had arrived so called OTE. The person answering the call did not seem to care at all about the situation and even tried to blame me that I trusted the text they sent to me, then said their texting system had a glitch, then when I asked about my first appt of day, and was told that others had repairs so they took precedence. When I asked why they did not call me to let me know or keep me updated she said "that is not her responsibility"! Not sure what is happening to this place but service is surely suffering. Josh is very good at what he does. We had an emergency break down last month in 100+ degree weather, at night. A tech came out and fixed the air but couldn't verify our warranty. We were charged $373 for the parts for the repairs. Josh came today for our regular cleaning and maintenance. The first thing he did was to tell me that he looked up our system and saw it was under warranty (the serial number was one digit off) and he refunded us the cost of the previous service. Not to nock the other technicians that have come by, bbut this guy was by far the best we have ever had. He loved our dogs and was very open and honest about the service he was performing and recommendations for future care.
