I called my dad (he used to own his on HVAC company and I worked for him as a marketing clerk most of my life) to listen to the noise we had and he confirmed it was probably just the capacitor. So I put it out on home advisor to get some pros and had the first 'pro' come out to look. Simply said "it's our capacitor how much to replace it" and he refused to listen and said we needed to replace EVERYTHING (mind you my husband and I are recent college grads and don't really have that kinda money). He refused to just slap a capacitor on to prove if I was right or not and said a sales rep will be back Tuesday. It was a nightmare (no heat in our house when it dropped to 30 overnight). Had a wonderful friend recommend Classic so we called them and they came this morning. Instantly said "yup it's your capacitor, let me slap one on and make sure it didn't hurt your motor too". I immediately knew this was the kind of company that wouldn't BS or swindle me. Ty did an INCREDIBLE job and even flushed our drain pipe for us and installed a pressure valve for easier cleaning later on. The price is affordable and made sense for the work done, honestly priced the exact same as my dad said it would be to have a tech come replace the part! Customer support used to be great, now it's an AI chatbot. They used to be highly trustworthy, now it's an upsell attempt each routine checkup visit. To top it off, after 12 years of being a Classic customer, their new computer system cannot seem to remember my address, and the techs who show up (once I correct the address every time) have no info about my system. Now they are spamming my phone with stuff about plumbing, electrical work etc. The techs working there are still good, this is not on them.

I wanted to share my experience with the new AC system we bought in 2022 as well as the company…read morethat installed it. It's a Daikin Fit 5 ton zoned system. First two years were great. Last summer it went out. The company that installed it came out 16 times between July and November. Multiple boards replaced, new wires run as well as a new eev on the indoor coil. They even had to replace the damper between the two zones because during the initial installation, they installed the wrong damper (yes, they admitted this). There's probably more but I think I've made my point. So why am I posting this? Well, because the AC has been out again for a week. Go figure. Also, I've asked for several call backs, including from owners and have had none in a week.

Estimated cost of repairs $7,000. That is right, not concerned about the fact that if completed this repair I would have paid Legend Air over $30,000 in just 7 years of owning a new system. Not a typo $30,000+. And he admitted when they sold me they installed an untested system that is basically garbage. Run away from these people. They sell crap and then keep charging you over and over. I was very impressed with Legend when they installed my new systems 7 years ago. They seemed to be reputable and reliable. About two months after installation, I went in the attic and found they destroyed the steps up to the unit (two steps). I left a message and never heard back. Not a big deal and I let it go (but I curse them every time I have to change filters). Last year just before the system was 6 years old this "excellent" Lennox system had to have an Evaporator Coil replaced. Cost for labor alone over $4K. And they told me I needed a Compressor Saver. I installed that also (by why was that not needed when I installed the system). Now this year they came out and what do I need - A COMPRESSOR. I have come to the conclusion they installed garbage equipment, with poor installation and sold unneeded or items that actually caused problems. To top everything off the put a sign in my yard that said I loved my A/C man. They didn't ask, just put it in my yard. I don't love them and would not recommend them. FYI - I change my filters on a regular recommended schedule, perform all maintenance and do not abuse the system. So, after 7 years I am basically replacing the entire system. I am not sure if I was a sucker to start with or they have changed, but I would STAY AWAY FROM LEGEND AIR.
