They stated there was a cracked pipe. She told them she needed to think about it and they high pressured into to signing and agreeing to the job. I showed the proposal of what they were doing to a Master Plumber friend and he would have only charged $4700 to anyone needing the same type of work. I asked for a quote, and when I checked around, they were indeed quite high, despite the discount they touted. Now a year later, with no issues on the things I did not repair, they still constantly call and try to set up another "maintenance" visit. It seems like that is their sales tactic, to push the cheap maintenance visit, then aggressively upsell on the visit. Make e very suspicious of the true need of the repair. Had OTE out with the intent to replace a shut-off valve in our laundry room. I've had the repair done once before, and I expected an estimate in the $250-300 range to replace both hot and cold valves. OTE's initial estimate was $489! I was shocked with that price. Fortunately, the technician didn't have the right parts on his truck and was going to need to come again a couple of days later. When my wife expressed frustration that he didn't have the part, and that we weren't going to be able to laundry for a few days, he very quickly said he could do the repair for $289. If he could it for $289 on a return trip, why $489 for the initial quote?! They lost me as a potential customer right there. I was able to get a recommendation of another plumber from a friend, and that plumber completed the repair for under $250. I obviously cancelled the return trip from OTE and won't be calling them again. read more

So my daughter posted a while back about the $14,000 I paid these guys to fix my plumbing issue. First off, their technicians are pushy people telling me about all the repairs I need when all I needed was a drain unclogged for my A/C unit. Then they tried telling me it was going to cost $39,000 to replace all the plumbing in my house because it was apparently made of cast iron and was rusting away. When I scoffed at that, they offered to do a "bypass" for $14,000 to help "alleviate" the issue. Thinking that these guys were trustworthy, I agreed to it. I'm not a plumbing expert and don't know hardly anything about home repairs on this scale. I signed the "contract" at around 6pm that night, promptly paid them because, you know, they can't start work unless they are FULLY paid for the entire price of the repair, and then left. I didn't get a copy of the "contract " (that was my stupidity). And get this, they were at my house, digging in my yard before it was even 8am the NEXT DAY!!! I know for a fact you can't do ANY digging or construction work WITHOUT a permit in my city and permits TAKE TIME! You mean to tell me they got a permit after 6pm on a WEEKDAY evening from the city? City employees are gone after 5pm and permits take AT LEAST THREE (3) business days to finalize (and that's on a VERY good day). I didn't even have time to think over the decision to use these guys before they were tearing up my yard. On top of ALL THIS, they cut a 1 ft x 1 ft hole in the brick on the side of my house and then NEVER replaced the brick. IT'S STILL THERE A YEAR LATER!!! Talked to the "owner" via text and he said they were waiting on me to install a power outlet for the sump pump they installed. Like SERIOUSLY???? When would an electrician install a power outlet right next to a water pipe???? I kept getting run around and now they won't even contact me back. They damaged my house and now won't even have the common decency to fix their damage. This should be criminal!!!! read more

My father paid $14,000 in 2020 to have plumbing work done and after a year, they still haven't came back to finish putting the brick in the side of the house despite him reaching out to them via phone multiple times and them promising they will fix it. There's still a hole on the side of his house with missing brick. There's been no response from this company for over a month. Wish my father had gotten a 2nd opinion before he chose this company. Booked and appointment for a rejuvenation and this is what is is supposed to include per the website: How we go beyond a cheap tune-up or inspection (the nitty to remove the gritty): We professionally clean all the baked-on plaque from the outdoor coil in your system, so it'll use less energy and cool more quickly. We install a Crud Buster in your condensate pan to eliminate odors and stops drain line clogs before they happen. We lubricate all moving parts and install a new air filter. We conduct a 47-point diagnostic including checking Freon levels and all operating temperature. We install a new battery in your thermostat. THEN we recalibrate your entire system back to factory fresh specifications. If we find any component that is broken or worn out we'll show you, and you can decide if you'd like us to fix it. My rejuvenation consisted of the tech washing my unit off with my garden hose and telling me that the capacitor was bad. Why did I pay over $100 when I could have washed it off myself with a garden hose, and have? They also would not honor the warranty on the capacitor seeing as my unit is only 4 years old. They kept looking it up as a "Payne" when it is a "Grandaire". Now they want to send someone else out to do the job they should have done in the first place, which is an inconvenience as I work and had to make arrangements for the visit yesterday. Aggressive and Fast driving in a family neighborhood around children and school kids is despicable, yet they do it every day, all day. One Time Experts are not trustworthy and the owner does not stand behind his guarantee. After a separate AC and heater service from OT ended with "your system is broken/leaking/dangerous and would be so expensive to fix so let's talk replacement..." my husband I decided we couldn't trust them anymore and were going to use a different company going forward. This was after 2 years of them doing our services and us replacing everything they said needed to be fixed. About a month after the heater service, we smelled a burning smell coming from the vents and immediately shut the system off until we could get another company to come look. The owner from the new company just so happened to be the one to come out and do the diagnostic and when he came down from the attic, he was shocked. He told us our blower section had standing water and rust all the way up where the motor had been blowing it and no where else in the system. He proceed to tell us that there is absolutely no reason or even a possible way for any water to end up where it was... He said "I would testify that that water was placed there intentionally." He told us that he could replace that motor that was burnt from the water (the smell) and sand out the rust and it'd extend the life of the heater because nothing else was broken/leaking/dangerous. I then turned to OT for some answers. I asked for service records and photos they'd taken of our systems from the records manager and all she could provide me with was invoices, said they didn't keep their copies or attach photos. I then spoke to the manager of the technician side, he told me "you should have called us and I personally would have come out and looked and fixed any problems you had." (Important to note he never denied that one of his guys would do that.) While that's a noble idea, to call them after it started to smell funny, do you think the company I'd already established I couldn't trust would have told me honestly that there was water where it shouldn't be and it had to be intentional and would have offered to replace the whole thing free of charge? Or would a tech have come out and said "yup, you need this work done" and took my money and left? I would have never known had I called them again and I'm glad I didn't. The manager then told me because I didn't have them do the work, they wouldn't reimburse me for the cost of the damage. I then asked to speak to the owner Randy Kelley, because if you've ever been on hold with OT you know that he raves about his solid guarantee to make any problem right, "100% customer service satisfaction. What ever it takes" and if you're not happy to ask to speak to him directly. So I left a message on the number they gave me... it's been over 2 weeks and no one has bothered to call me back. Some guarantee, huh? They couldn't care less about the money my family is out because of their technician's corrupt actions. we had our unit replaced by this company after 15-16 years, so, brand new unit with On Time. the BRAND NEW unit all of a sudden would ''shut off', the company said it was due to power fluctuations....really? we have lived in the same house for 15 years and never had a 'power fluctuation' issue with our AC. they tried to sell us some kind of 'fix', NOPE. Then after many times of the unit 'shutting off', in other words, FAILING! the company replaced the unit. NOW, after a couple of years, and a service visit a MONTH ago, our AC is NOT working!!!!!!! FOUR phone calls TONIGHT to a regular phone line person and then to a manager, we still have NO service coming, NO service solutions, NOTHING! this company is AWFUL! Now that I've switched from On-Time Experts to another provider for annual maintenance on our furnace and air conditioning, I feel I can write a review. I've been a customer with On-Time for years, and with its previous owners as well, so I speak from experience. I gave them two stars because the technicians were mostly good (a few mishaps); the company, on the other hand, is not. First, they should change their name to "Late" Experts because they were habitually late, and when I complained, they gave me additional months of service on my contract or discounts on parts. Sounds fine, but it's not. Second, when the new provider serviced out unit, the first thing the guy asked was why we were using Dynamic filters instead of a plain, paper filter. I told him On-Time recommended them when they installed the furnace. He shook his head and told me I was wasting my money; at about $65/filter, it was like throwing money out the window. He said paper filters from Home Depot were just fine. I've had other off-kilter experiences as well - over the years. Everything from a technician with On-Time who came in and proceeded to tell me about the history of air conditioning (told him I didn't care; just service my unit - apparently, it was On-Time's approach to a warmer, gentler company and he was trained to tell me this) to technicians who truly smelled of body odor. Again, most were fine, but there were a few who weren't. The final complaint I have is for On-Time's sister company, Mr. Sparky. I asked them to come to take a look at my kitchen chandelier because one of the lamps just wasn't working. I changed the bulb and it still did not work. The technician examined it and said, "You'll have to dismantle this and take it to a lighting store for repair. There's nothing I can do." After he left, I jiggled the light a few times and it came on - and has been working every since. That's it for my review. I implore you to go elsewhere for service! read more

So I'm a new home owner. I'm still learning. But I can tell you these guys are super pricey and although they have great trucks they really need to work on their sales tactics...... my hot water heater was only two years old. The pilot light went out and wouldn't restart. Apparently there are two types of rheem water heaters.... those sold at Home Depot/Lowe's and those sold for plumbers..... so mine from Home Depot couldn't be fixed and had to be replaced $3500.00 later.... fixed..... yes pricey but fixed The next time I had water leaking from a toilet and the floor. The guy came out, didn't even touch the toilet and gave me the same " oh this is from Home Depot and it will have to be replaced" ...... he gave me a quote for $1,200.00 I fixed it with an $8.00 part from Home Depot....... sooo yeah there's that..... I also joined their "club" 19.95 a month and all I get is harassing calls for them to come out and give my heat/ ac a workover..... I assume they want to work over my wallet again as well...... I will be canceling my "club membership" and calling them only in an emergency! read more

Wow I'm shocked at the bad reviews on here. I had an amazing experience with On Time Experts. Chris was seriously a life savior, and was so dependable! I had plumbing issues with the everything backing up sadly right when the snow storm was coming to Texas. Chris did EVERYTHING in his power to help, and was at my house all day trying to see where to breakage was and where the source of the issue was at. HE DID THIS IN TEMPERATURES OF 15 degrees. We had to have our front yard get excavated and a new pipe had to be placed leading up the front of the street. We have had no issues, and I am soooo happy!! Was talked into a yearly contract that's supposed to save me money and move me to the head of the line, BUT. Called for my Winter furnace check and had to cancel the first one after the techs were over an hour late. I'm typing this review an hour and a half after my text from them says when they would arrive. ON YIME EXPERTS??? Said they would call morning of the appointment. No problem. They had not called by 9:30 so I called them. Was told they would check with dispatch and get right back to me. 2 and 1/2 hours later I called back. Same lady told me she would find out and call right back. 2 hours later they called and wanted to reschedule for another day. I am very unhappy. Have been told lies and have been overcharged multiple times. I am the idiot for having been a member. Canceling services. Was told I needed a new water heater when on a second opinion from a different plumber, it was only a small part needed that was still under warranty! Hoping that was a fluke mistake. Most recently needed a sewage line repaired. Was told two different quotes from them- one $2900 the next time, $5000- for the same repair! Found yet again a different plumber and the cost for repair was only $2500. Was over charged for various things that my air conditioning system "needed." Spent $2500 on my systems. Then a few months later had a different technician from the same company- On Time Experts come out to tell me that was wasted money. DJ called 30 minutes before his arrival to give us a heads up and showed up on time. He was very polite and professional. We were very happy with the quality of work and his attention to detail in his work product and cleaning of his work area. UPDATED: On Time is definitely pricier than competitors. I didn't get 3 quotes before buying and that's my fault for not checking prices. My husband and I both agreed to new full HVAC system, as ours was over 13 yrs old. The Deluxe price -$18k. That includes blown insulation and whole house filtration system. And free UV light and year long membership. The whole job was completed in a day and technicians were great. The system is great. The loan offered was a terrible deal though ,8.9%. Our credit scores are over 750 so we turned that down and got home equity instead. I got a call from Supervisor Matt after he read my review. He did everything he could to make it right for me. I appreciate the customer service. My review is still 3 stars because of plumbing quote, not hvac. Called On Time for our plumbing issue after a/c install. Told sewer line break, cracks everywhere, and $35,000 repair! YES $35,000. Called another plumber -$7,000 quote. And On Time couldn't find sewer line cleanout, didn't even look at the alley. "We know this is a lot so here's a new water heater (that we don't need), water softener, and new toilet (that we don't need)." Actually considered selling my house as-is after this quote because it was so depressing to hear. That's not hyperbole. Actual conversation that day with my husband about cutting losses and leaving because we couldn't afford this repair and was made to believe it was a right now must fix situation because toilet was not functional without it. Got a different company to come out. He priced new line at $7000 , and then ran the camera from the roof and alley and said "it's not as bad as all that. And that's not why your toilet isn't flushing anyway." This plumber scrapped the calcification off the toilet and voila no more toilet issues. He said he'd seen worse sewer lines and we'd be fine for a few more years. It cost $279 to get the toilet working and that includes $200 camera in the pipe. read more

They deserve a star because the technician did show up on time and was a nice guy. My AC unit wasn't blowing cold air. The technician checked for an hour and told me I have a leak somewhere in the outside unit. He refilled it with 8 pounds of coolant and told me to call him if it runs out anytime soon. He thought I had a leak in the coil and would check to see if it was under warranty. I was charged over $550 and never heard back about a warranty. I needed it fixed so I got another company. They found the leak in some welding on the copper wiring outside. He welded the leak and refilled 10 pounds of coolant for a total of $635 total. On Time over charged me and never fixed the problem. Thank God, there are honest guys to call. On Time Experts are NOT. read more

Called to make an urgent appt because one of two AC units were not working. Blank thermostat. Time given 2000-2100 hrs. The serviceman did not arrive until close to midnight. I called 3 times to ascertain an ETA. He was there all of 10 minutes, relaying to my wife there was nothing he could do the unit was not receiving electricity. Every other thing in the house had electricity. Never once did he check the service disconnect( I know because the have a pad lock on them and must be unlocked), not the safety shut off valve for an over flow nor the inside fuse! Left the house stating there was nothing he could do! Worst service ever!!! read more

I pay monthly for service. OTE called me to schedule my fall service and we scheduled it for a Wednesday. I received a call while I was out doing errands and was told they would be at my house in 45 minutes. I rushed home and no one ever showed. Finally got a call in the evening saying that the tech got tied up on a call and we rescheduled for the 1st appt. (between 9am-10am) on Saturday. Waited til almost 3pm and no one showed and left for the grocery store. At 3pm got a text saying the tech was on his way. I went back home. At 5pm no one had arrived so called OTE. The person answering the call did not seem to care at all about the situation and even tried to blame me that I trusted the text they sent to me, then said their texting system had a glitch, then when I asked about my first appt of day, and was told that others had repairs so they took precedence. When I asked why they did not call me to let me know or keep me updated she said "that is not her responsibility"! Not sure what is happening to this place but service is surely suffering. Ok so I really liked this place at first. We joined there front of the line family and got free AC check ups twice a year. First time they came out they found over $1000 worth of possible problems. Now our unit is only (5 year old ). So we decided to go head a fix what they said. Then next year we had them put in a UV light and was told we could get a Air Ranger air filter system half price. This was in April of this year. Now 4 month later I am charge another $641.50 that they say was the half price cost of this unit. Well I checked with 3 other company's. The avg cost of this unit is 600-680. So we didn't get anything half off. I was told they charge $1200 for the air ranger. So they upcharge then give you half off. Needless to say, I am no longer a member of there family service. I will no longer be recommending this company. Ohhh and for there we are on time or it's free BS. They tell you we will be there tomorrow and we will call you when we are a hour away. So they are and can never be late. read more

We returned home from a weekend trip to find our house registering 81F inside (thermostat was set to 75F). Yikes! It was midnight, so the hubby tinkered with the thermostat and furnace for a bit before bed. In the morning, something was definitely wrong, so we called On Time Experts (based on reading some reviews on other sites and their apparently effective marketing on Peavy/Garland with their new building). We assumed since they're literally walking distance from our house that they would be able to squeeze in a last minute appointment that day - and we were right! We called late morning and were given a 4-8pm time slot. Jesse, the tech, arrived around 6pm and was really pleasant the entire time. He was sure to put on booties as to not get our house dirty, and was able to diagnose the issue on his first try. He fixed the issue, explained how we can avoid it again, and cleaned up his mess. We did end up purchasing the $20/mo maintenance plan from him that includes 3 check ups per year and a 15% discount on service visits, labor, and parts. You also accrue $100/year in parts discounts and are guaranteed visits within 48 hrs (seems long to me), a 24 hr hotline, and a 2 hr visit window. Jesse was especially great because he took the time to answer our millions of questions, since the hubby and I like to know exactly how everything works so we can better maintain and perhaps fix the issues ourselves. I'll update if and when we need On Time again. So far so good! read more

Had an $11 capacitor go out on me on a holiday weekend, leaving me without AC. Called these guys in a pinch, the tech came out, diagnosed two capacitors as faulty, and wanted to charge $400 for each. These literally cost 11 bucks on Amazon (and are only sometimes as high as a whopping $17) and take only a few minutes to swap. I understood this, and was still actually willing to pay $200 for the repair just to have my house cool again on a hot weekend, but they wouldn't budge from $800. So i kicked the guy out while still having to pay $100 for the visit. Folks -- these are the guys and repairs that result in less suspecting/informed people being told they "need a new system". Happens all the time. Regardless, it's bad enough that they attempt to take advantage to the degree they did with me. Sure, mark the parts up, and charge for labor, but lying about the needed repairs and then trying to mark up the parts 3,600%?? No thanks. Here's your review, fellas. read more
