This is one of the only children's consignment places in town, so you're sort of stuck. The staff can be both very friendly and very cold. It depends on the day. Clothes are often marked up more than they even are new, which can be frustrating for brands like Wonder Nation or Cat & Jack. Unprofessional. I came in today to donate an item and stayed inside the store (in the back looking at toys) while they looked at my item. It was pretty quiet with there only being a few people inside the store outside of the employees. I could very clearly hear one of the ladies say that my item was dirty and trash. This place is great, they have a lot going on and they are still very helpful and kind. Staff is great, prices a little high for some things but not totally unreasonable. You might find a high priced item but then there's also a lot of good quality for under $5 and lots of gently worn good kids shoes, sandals, and boots for under $10. I think that's pretty great and then considering they will give cash for good clothes is a steal especially since the alternative is selling your items yourself or giving them to a thrift store. read more

Customer service is not great at all, employees always have attitude. Yes they have a lot of clothes to choose from but the prices are outrageous for a lot of their items. Selling Walmart garanimals brand for the same price as brand new from Walmart or sometimes more. Selling SHEIN for more as well! Don't know where they get their pricing from but most of the time you're not saving much money. When selling don't expect to get much from them they will give you $4 for a pair of name brand shoes then sell them for over $20. Don't waste your time. read more

As a buyer, love this store. Great quality at a great price with friendly staff and clean facility. They have a few small carts for kids and my son loves that aspect! Lots of books, too. Small selection for newborn items but everything else has a good amount. As a seller, yes they are picky but I appreciate that. If I wanted thriftier items I could go to another thrift store, but this company makes their mark on having high quality items. Don't waste your time with this store. My wife and I are having our first kid, and trying to save money. Ya know, typical thinking. Walked in, looked at a stroller/wagon and it was only $70 cheaper than brand new, it also had several stains in the bottom. So we laughed and continued on our way. We stop at the onesies, the second one we picked up had a huge orange stain on it, and the feet had dark stains on it. For $1.50! Get real people!! A used onesie should be MAYBE $.50! Ok ok I'm getting irritated just typing this. At that point I was over it and realized these people are crooks! But the wife wanted to look around. We went down the second isle looking at more strollers. After more looking, we found another wagon type stroller. Looked in it, and it had crumbs and leaves in the cracks! FOR $170!!! At this point I want to power bomb the owners for trying to pull this crooked establishment off as a consignment store! They're pretty selective with what they buy, but that selectiveness is what makes it a great place to shop. Some things are overpriced (shoes, snowsuits, baby gear, other specialty items in my experience). But super reasonable for kids clothes in nice shape. This place is a rip off, didn't take things because they had "wear and tear" but they literally are brand new. Gave me only $35 for a table side high chair as well as a chunk of my kids clothing when the table high chair was worth $20 and the clothes were over $100. Seller's Perspective: I arrived here at 8:40am. I was first in line with a van load of toys, clothing, and shoes. Word of advice, arrive here 20 to 30 minutes prior to the store opening. I would say within 15 minutes the line grew to roughly 6 or seven people with just as much items to sell. My toys were the first to be inventoried and I was given a offer within the first 20 minutes and agreed with the reasonable offer. The clothing took about one hour, which is reasonable to me, considering I had about 4 to 5 totes full. The staff was very polite and professional. Running a consignment store in my opinion is a very large task and can sometimes be a costly one. You have overhead, employees, bills, etc. most of the clothes that are sold in the store are equal if not lower than what you would personally sell on a website. The overall idea behind this shop is time. I don't have the time to list these things myself and what I would make per hour of the time invested would not be a value in response to what I would receive in money that the store provides. If time is on your side then the store would probably not be value to you for selling items. At the end of the day, they have a job to do and a store to keep running. Do not waste your time bringing in any baby gear. I think they expect people to bring brand new items still in boxes. Brought in a decent amount of baby gear, diaper genie, ect and they took NOTHING. I understand not taking a couple items, but i literally had a mobile high chair (never once used), a walker that my kid used maybe 2 months. Still in great condition, and a few other things that would of been fine. But all she said was there were stains they couldn't get out, which yes some items sure, but not most of them. So I had a great time doing 4 or 5 trips to bring all of my stuff in just to do the same thing out. No stars! Omg!!! The manger is outrageous! Very rude- talks about parents in front of you. I have an autistic child who would not go into the fitting room. We went into the bathroom. She actually asked me to get out her words because she had to pee- her words. Yup he's 4 I think he might need to go more than you do. They all lie- i called all at 11am for 5 day and was told no drop off. Today I called said the same thing. We went in to get a toy and they said of course you can drop clothes off! What??? They never apologize for their behavior or how confusing it feels- meaning their lies. Also, they tell you that you must pick up your bin/ credit by end of business day but they will text by 7pm if it will be the next day. What??? I am a parent- and can't just stay in an area I don't leave in for 5-6 hours. Shocked that they get away with this careless behavior and unkindness. read more

I just don't understand. They have racks and bins overflowing with clothes, yet the prices are absurd. There are used target clothes and shoes priced more than what can be purchased new. The nicer brands are priced even higher. It's a disservice to people who want to reuse and not waste clothing, and frankly it's a bad business model? I won't be back until things change. read more

Drove out 1 hour from where I live to be offered 18 dollars for a baby swing that is almost brand new literally used 1or2 times.. (retails 90+) that was crazy I rather just donate it to someone who needs it. Also had 2 boxes of baby / toddler clothes they said would take until 6:30 for an offer to be made , I arrived at the store at 12 pm. Decided to just leave with my things instead. As a seller, Once Upon A Child is just terrible. Many days, by mid-morning, there is an unprofessional sign on the door stating they are done for the day, but when you go inside, there are several salespeople behind the counters. Not one will offer you any assistance, but there are lots of people present! I don't think anyone expects to earn top dollar for children's resale, but this place is downright insulting! You'd be better to save yourself the gas and frustration, donate your items and claim the value on taxes with a charitable donation receipt. I've had several sour experiences at this store, but after the last, I'll never go there again . . . it's not worth the trouble! read more

This is my go to store! I love being able to stack up on clothes for my kiddo without spending loads of money! And when selling things I don't go in expecting a fortune. After speaking to one of the workers o found out that they can only offer you 1/4 of what the item is worth. Not too bad because they have to keep their business running. I get all types of name brand clothes from here and sure some are dirty but it's so easy to skip past them and find something almost BRAND NEW! I don't think you'll like this store if you expect nice things to jump out and slap you in the face. It's essentially a baby thrift store so take what you can get! And it's super convenient when I don't want to donate the clothes or waste time posting them to marketplace. I've found many matching sets PERFECT for a kid because they'll outgrow them faster than you think! Hoped this helped someone, and if you're selling something I've always been told to show up at the beginning of the day before everyone in the city starts showing up. This is a great second hand children's store. Items are clean and its obvious they only take items that haven't been overly used. All of that works for me! I do not want to go and spend money on items that look like a family of 7 have already used it up. The prices are better than reasonable! There have been some reviewers that are upset about the amount of money the store gives sellers for their items. I understand that frustration but if the store is to keep their prices down they can't give us top dollar. AND YES I HAVE SOLD TO THEM The customer service is always great! The only thing that I wish could be different is that some of the parents who shop there either keep and eye on their kids or allow them to play in the designated kids play area. I don't think this is the 'go to place' for consigning items if you want to make a buck, but it is a very good place to shop for children's clothing. The items chance all the time so you get the chance to go in again and again if you are looking for something in particular and you can't find it on the first go. My friend found really great deals on leather shoes for her little girl. The selection is sometimes limited as thrift stores can be, but she found good brands (Oshkosh, Converse, Gap, Reebok) for $6-7 tops. That's really great pricing on leather shoes! read more

I was SO shocked at how much clothing and toys they purchased from me and love that it is not consignment, just resale so they paid me cash right then and there instead of having to wait to get paid like in a consignment store. I felt like the process was easy and quick and well worth my time! The staff was very helpful and friendly as well! I understand the poor reviews, which is why I would never take items in to sell without knowing I may not get much money for them. However, I do like OUAC for purchasing items for my daughter. Recently I went in and bought an exersaucer for $20 that would normally be $80. I also picked up a couple items of name brand clothes - Puma - for about 1/3 the retail price. The store is super cramped as pretty much all OUAC stores. It isn't great to bring a stroller in to as it is hard to stroll around without running people over and getting stuck in the racks. This is a great placed to pick up children's consignment clothing - they have a ton of stuff! The aisles are narrow, so if its busy it can be interesting trying to navigate and look at what sizes you need. If you can manage to dig through the toys in the back without getting killed you can sometimes find some gems there as well (ie: Melissa and Doug puzzles). Sometimes kids who go there with their parents will take out the toys and play with them, then leave them all over the floor (this however is the parents fault, not the store!) Its not worth it to try to consign here. I brought a bin of gently used clothing, some of it new with tags, and they only took a handful of what I brought in and gave me $10. They refused to take some of the new items, and refused to take a hardly worn pair of 2T jeans because of "wear" (there was no signs of wear, just the faded look that jeans often have!) Buy, yes. When I came back they only took a 6 items out of about 20 and offered me $6 plus a $5 gift card for the items. NOT WORTH MY TIME AND A VERY LOW BALL OFFER. Had great almost new matching oufits no stains etc. Didnt want them. They were actually nicer than some things they had on the rack. Last year took about the same quality of clothing in and they bpught every single item. however the bigger disappointment in the change in the staff! This place is great. It's different from other consignment stores, because you don't have to wait for your items to sell in order to get paid. I think the reason the other reviewers are so offended is because they will only take items that are currently in style and in excellent used or new condition. You can bring them a truckload of stuff, but if it's a truckload of stained, dorky clothing you will be disappointed. If you go expecting to get retail for your stuff, you will be disappointed as well. They sell their stuff at about 25-40% of retail, and they give you about half of that. It's more about cleaning out your kids' closets and toy bins. You can typically buy a shirt for somewhere between $2-$4. Jeans run about $3-$8 depending on the brand. The way they price their stuff is weird, though. They just plug it into the computer, so they'd type in "jeans, Mossimo, excellent condition, dark blue" (or something like that), and the computer will price it. This is actually good if you are buying, because they will often have really expensive boutique items priced really low, because the computer didn't recognize the brand. Booyah! I don't know what the other reviewers were talking about when they said the store is smelly and looks like the Arc. I think they were butt-hurt because their stuff didn't sell. Maybe it's more picked through on the weekends, because I usually go on the weekday and it's very organized and smells pretty neutral. The employees are very tolerant of my rambunctious kids, too! I usually let them play in the toy area while I shop, and have them clean up any messes they make before we leave. read more

I used to LOVE this place, but over the past year they have lost their pizzazz with "not so friendly" staff, and they "say" they will buy things but often return most of the stuff no matter if it matches what they "say" they need. Disappointing. Went to Kid to Kid Consignment by SW Plaza and their staff was Overwhelmingly Friendly, and the the store was great! I will still shop here AFTER visiting Kid to Kid first. I'll begin with the bad news first. Selling your kids cloths here is a hassle. They are pretty particular about their selection and tight with the money they offer you in return. I would recommend using it as a last resort when summer is over and you just need to get rid of your stuff and the garage sale just didnt do the trick. Now the good news. Personally I have never had a bad experience with the staff, which is awesome. Also I have gotten several coupons and a punch card which saves a pretty decent amount. I like coming here because the prices are pretty good and its so much easier and more organized then the Arc or other thrift shops I've checked out for kids stuff. The quality of the clothing is usually pretty good and I found a pair of shoes for $6!!!! Got some shirts on sale for 70 cents to a dollar fifty. It has a few flaws but overall I would have to say definite keeper for parents on a budget. read more
