I love this store. There is always a good sale going on and always many high quality items for a good deal. The employees are friendly and the store is well organized. Today I made a huge purchase of tons of items and had a nice talk with the lady ringing up my items. I should've gotten her name but I did not. She was very pleasant to talk to and friendly. I'm happy with the quality of the items they stock here. Many are upset about these stores being picky about what they buy from you to sell but I am actually very thankful for that because I don't have to worry about the items I find here having large stains or holes. I go multiple times a week sometimes and there are always new things. I'm very pleased with my experiences here. One of the best once upon a child stores I have been to. read more

The collection of reviews here reads like a tale of two customers - those who come to sell goods and those who come to buy. Having done both myself I will just say that there's a reason I now donate everything to CCA. Since it's been so long since I last attempted to sell anything to them, my rating only reflects the buying experience. First of all, the store is massive. Although the majority of their inventory is clothing they also have shoes, accessories, baby gear, and toys. Everything is pretty well organized making it easy to find exactly what you want. For example, clothes are grouped by size, color and type. And, for the most part the merchandise is in good condition. Occasionally I have come across a hole, tear or stain, so my advice is to to thoroughly inspect each item before checking out. Unfortunately there are no rock bottom prices to be found here (you'll have to go to Thrift Giant for that). In fact, most of the stuff isn't a whole lot cheaper than the new version, with the exception of some higher end brands here and there. I have actually found better prices on certain brands when they're on clearance at the original store. Another recurring theme in the reviews here is the rudeness of the employees. It makes me wonder if this place is fully staffed by ex-DPS workers! I guess I should consider myself lucky because I have miraculously somehow avoided their surliness. I've been shopping at this Once Upon a Time location for over 10 years and I've always found great deals! They are very selective about what they accept but they have to be because they are often overflowing with inventory as it is. As someone who has worked in retail for over 20 yrs I totally understand that you will often be met with the attitude that you give. I went there today to take a Baby Enstein infant playset. It had only been used once when my teenage granddaughter was about 5 months old and they came to visit. It was in the original box and was quite heavy-- I am 77 years old and was all I could do to carry it in the store. They told me I had to put it together before they would tell me if they would take it. So I opened the box and attempted to pull the pieces out. I could not get them out and after struggling for a few minutes I said that I could use some help. There were 4 people working there (3 were young) and I got absolutely no response. If that was not allowed, they could have said so. They acted if I was not even there. So I closed the box back up and struggled to get it back to my car. I took it to CCA and hope that someone who needs it will be able to use it. read more

Customer service could use a lot of improvement. The way the staff speak to the customer is rude, it appears staff are annoyed they are at work. I'm 8 months pregnant and nobody helped me when I was bringing in two heavy boxes of children's clothes to donate. There's literally 15 people behind the counter and no one greeted me or acknowledged my existence until I walked up to a register and was told to go somewhere else. went to drop off 2 large items and a FULL BASKET of clothes. 5 items were taken and neither bug items. reasons being they were stained. not true i bought everything from them literally a month prior and my kid never wore them. i also bought one of the big items from them at the time and they say they dont take those. it still had the sticker from when i bo it from them a month before. the other big item they said required a cord. it didn't. i bought it i know. they argued with me "they always come with a cord" no not all swings do. it is battery operate. also while dropping off the lady was rude as soon as a walked in yelling at me over people and being short. while picking up so was the second lady plus arguing with me over literal facts. lastly a third lady was giving me a hard time that big items must be picked up same day. by the time they called me to be picked up they were closing 10 minutes later and i couldn't drop everything. She got snippy and said "i told you when you dropped off. No i didn't even drop with you the day before. read more

Our family is about to move soon and my wife wanted to just take the baby clothes and other items here to just get a little bit of money rather than dealing with FB marketplace. We had only been in her once before this and the older lady was very rude to us for not standing in the correct spot where the checkout line was supposed to start. It was also just us and the lady in front of us. A few days later my wife goes to drop off all the items and they said thanks and nothing more. We came back about 3-4 days later and they then told her she won't get any cash and only store credit because the only day to get cash is the same day you drop off which no one told us that. We didn't even get our tote back which I thought was ridiculous because at that point they're basically stealing from customers. Definitely won't be back to this store. The staff all seem miserable and are not pleasant to deal with. After trying to bring a smile to the cashiers face during my large transaction, I was met with a face and demeanor that was very disagreeable. It used to be when you entered the door, you were greeted by a friendly face and a "Welcome in". Some of the staff will even give you attitude if you dare ask a general question. So, I've learned my lesson and will be driving to other locations from now on. read more

Yes it's true that the employees aren't the friendliest here, but Holy Mother of Pearl.. this store is HUGE! By far the largest in the metroplex. It took me hours to go through everything. The selection is incredible! I was on the hunt for upscale brands and they definitely had them at reasonable prices. I personally can get over a rude employee if it means I walk out with a gold mine. This location is better than the Denton location, Denton won't often accept donations because they have too much product to go through or not enough staff. So, in Flower Mound's case, one star for being able to accept donations at least every time I have taken them in. But, you are definitely an inconvenience to the staff so just go ahead and prepare your mind for that. I know I'm a bother but I don't care because I am going in needing to sell things and I'll deal with the poor customer service. Nobody will help you bring large items in, there's no dolly for it either, just a small shopping cart so Godspeed. Aside from the poor customer service, they almost always purchase my items. I've made a decent amount of money, so I'll be going back just to keep making money. The selection in the store is good too, it's a very large store but I don't often shop there. Not every employee is rude, I would say the beginning of selling is the hardest part because they aren't the kindest but the women who ring you out are much kinder and helpful. I appreciate when someone is helpful at the register. It's nice, so another star for that! Just go in knowing what to expect and it should go pretty smoothly because their system is organized, they just don't go the extra mile to make you feel welcomed or help with big items. read more

Whoever manages this store needs to read all the reviews complaining about unfriendly, uncaring staff. I've had fairly good experiences with purchases but trying to sell children's clothes is a waste of time. I made sure all clothing was clean, matched the season, no stains of any kind, in good shape and quality brands. They rejected at least 3/5ths of the box of items with the rote statement "light staining & wear and tear". When asked to show any rejected item that met that description, they refused and just repeated the rote statement. Staff members are robotic. Will not waste time, energy, or gasoline again! Better to find someone who needs the clothes and donate them. read more

I love once upon a child! I have two kids! I do not appreciate that every time I come in the Flower Mound location, the same employee makes a remark on my sons behavior/ how loud he is. He is AUTISTIC-on the SPECTRUM. You should not say remarks in regards to situations you don't know. 3 stars because as a mom if there is some piece of fairly specific clothing you need for your child. you can probably find it here for a bit less than the regular store. My normal go to for thrift clothes is not this store. really they only price a few dollars under what the normal retail price would be. And unlike Thrift City (my fav) they price more to what brand. Example: a ralph lauren jacket will be $40 (we grabbed one to try on our son. so this is a correct example). and a cherokee (target brand) jacket same type is $10. I prefer a store that just sells second hand and does not worry about getting more for specific designers. thats not what thrifting is really about. its about buying clothes that would be in the trash otherwise. and giving new life to it. but anyway i digress. If you go on a busy weekend or evening the store will most likely be chaos. clothes, shoes and toys on the floor. If you are able. go during the day or right after opening. its quiet and easier to maneuver. They really do have a ton of stuff. sometimes the clothes racks are packed too tight to look at things. that is not fun. They are a "melissa and doug" retailer. so do not expect their M&D toys to be discounted. they are usually brand new not second hand. so if you get confused about those items its because they are not thrift items. But if you love M&D toys (i do) this is good spot to go inside of the internet. lets me see what im buying better than online does. They have tons of accessories. Lots of shoes. and luckily they are organized by size and gender. This is where i get my toddler's shoes. They do have a public use restroom and changing table. the bathroom is disgusting and not monitored by staff at all. the smell of diapers is noxious. Warning!!! the changing rooms "lock" from the inside but this is a false lock. meaning it will UNlock when anyone flips the outside handle. so the locks are useless. make sure you guard the door. dont even step a few feet away unless you want to risk your changing child exposed to the whole store. ive included a video of this lock issue The staff is going to be a hard 50/50 for professionalism and attitude. either you get someone who is great or awful. there is no in between. ive never tried to sell anything here. i expect it to be like other reviews and like other places similar that ive tried. not enough money for the items. especially compared with the inflated price they put out. And it never ceases to amaze me just how much damaged, ripped, torn and stained things actually make it to the shelves and hangers. I think this is a good place for an "I need an item now, but do not want to pay retail for it" scenario. Prices are high for clothes, even non-trendy stuff. For example, one onsie for $3 when I can get a pack of 3 for $1 at a consignment event. Toys are a different story. There are so many at really cheap prices. They do sell the trendy toys new for full retail price. Great for bday gifts! Staff was unapproachable, more interested in themselves than helping, but once asked a question, seemed knowledgable. Overall, I will stick to consignment events where I get more bang for my buck, but will gladly use this place if the need arises. read more

This location has been my go to for years. The staff FAs more often than not been pleasant. Today I brought in 2 semi large bins of f neatly folded girls clothes. Upon my retutn I was offered a fair price for the items they chose for resale. When gathering my bins containing items they refused, I was disappointed to see how the items had been put back into them. In the past everything they have not wanted was replaced in the containers in as neat a manner as they were received. My items were literally just thrown in without being separated or folded(they always have done this previously). When I asked about it, the woman doing the sorting and selecting gave me attitude and told me that they've never done that and that would take too much time. The two patrons behind me agreed that this was not what they had been used to either. While this may seem minor, I would've more than likely just shrugged my shoulders and walked away had the woman not answered my question in a condescending manner. read more

First time to come here. Was accompanied by my sister and mother and we were just looking for some winter clothing and some cute Sunday dresses for my niece. The place was full and it smelled of laundry detergent (which is not bad) but obviously because everything here is second hand basically. The racks were labeled so it was easy to find what we were looking for as well as a 60% off sale. The staff were helpful and quick at the register. My sister got a heck of a deal. I've come across a few items with tags still attached and found that OUAC priced them higher than the store did (sale prices for the stores). They always tell you they couldn't take things back, because of lite stains and blah blah. But yet I've found numerous pieces of clothing . After being told they would not take any of my items (2 baskets full), they begged me to bring in denim which they really needed, ummm you just turned down like 10 pairs of like new Old Navy jeans. They have the slowest workers. They have absolutely no sense of urgency. There is absolutely no reason to tell someone the wait to sell is "30 minutes" and I've currently been waiting almost an hour and a half. When I brought this to their attention they just rolled their eyes at me. It's absolutely uncalled for and if they don't wish to work with urgency or care about customer service they shouldn't be working here. Great place to take your gently used kids clothing & toys before you donate. This store is much bigger and well- organized, so you won't fill claustrophobic. Tip: Call before you haul things into the store to make sure they accept those things. (Ex: high chairs without straps they won't take nor baby changing cushions) Not all sales associates are too pleasant but Courtnie is the nicest employee there! read more

Terrible customer service. When I walked in 4 ladies behind the counter just stared at me. Unloaded 2 moving boxes of clothes and box of toys. They took a couple of the toys and didn't even go thru the clothes at all. When I asked what was wrong with the clothes at pickup that said "light wear and stains" and picked up one shirt on the top of the box. I said "you realize this is a full box?" There was literally 20+ items in the box that still have tags on them, they just didn't even go thru it. Kid to Kid is the MUCH better place to go. Will not go back. Glad they didn't even offer me store credit, they just said how much cash it was. I wouldn't have wanted to go back anyways. read more

The quantity of good condition items they will buy from you has done down. The number of poor condition items on their racks and shelves has gone up. It's still more good quality than bad, but it's frustrating to bring in good quality items to sell and be told "we'll pass due to light wear and staining" when I can pull a pair of jeans off the shelf and someone has clearly applied and then ripped off patches, leaving frayed material. Or they pass on great condition (worn very little) tennis shoes when there are shoes in the bins with broken straps or so worn that the underlying material is showing. The shoe area is frustrating as shoes are always in the wrong bin. I used to think it was just accidental, but I witnessed an employee deliberately putting toddler shoes in a bin on the very bottom for the largest shoes size (I'm guessing to 'save them for later'?). It's just not worth the drive anymore. :( read more
