The primary owner/baker was amazing. We ordered a birthday cake for my mother in laws 70th and he not only did an amazing job with our initial cake but when we literally destroyed the cake 15 minutes after pickup by dropping it on the floor while trying to refrigerate it, he took what was left of the cake and turned it into an identical masterpiece in 20 minutes. He even refused our extra payment which we ended up leaving in the tip jar. I wish I had taken a picture of the before and after the repair because it was a true display of skill this bakery has. If you want amazing delicious cakes you MUST come here! I absolutely love One & One Bakery I have bought 3 cakes from here the past year alone. Like every other place it has it's pros and cons. Some minor cons: they only take cash, the owners speak very little English (not a big deal, I still get the cake I want with no issue), and the prices are a little on the high side. However, you pay for what you get yummy cakes! Some major pros: they always have the cake ready on time, lots of parking in the rear and the cakes always come out better than my expectations. I had ordered a cake for my sons first birthday. It was an under the sea theme in which I had gotten inspiration from Pinterest. I had gone to other bakery's and none could do the design I wanted. One&one Bakery didn't say they couldn't do it on the contrary they made me an exceptionally cake that I was beyond happy with. They simply said email us the image and we will take cake of the rest. I was skeptical at first since I had gotten turned down from other bakery's but when I picked it up I was so happy and very pleased with the design and how similar it was to the image I got inspiration from. Do yourself a favor and just go IN PERSON, takes all of 5 minutes to walk in, sketch and describe what you want. He gives you a quote and you pay a small deposit ("whatever you want" he says). It skips all the headache of emailing a vendor back-and-forth and waiting for replies. His cakes never disappoint in flavor or style! They were able to accommodate my sort of last minute, holiday weekend request with no hesitation! I called on a Tuesday afternoon before the long Thanksgiving weekend holiday for a Saturday AM UNICORN cake and they were able to accommodate! Only hiccup was, I had to come into the store to place the order! At first, I didn't understand the necessity and why we couldn't just do it over the phone, but in store there were a bunch of photo examples! I needed a cake for a surprise birthday party and found this small mom and pop bakery on Main Street. We walked in on a Saturday afternoon a week before the party and were greeted by an older man. He was nice and very helpful. He even offered us suggestions on decorations he could add to make the cake fit perfectly into the theme of our party. We chose chocolate cake with fresh bananas for the bottom tier and vanilla cake with fresh strawberries for the top. On the day of the party the cake looked beautiful and it was ready on time for our pickup. He helped us carry the cake to our car and showed me how to hold it correctly so the cake wouldn't shift during the drive. The cake was average priced $250 for a two tier cake for 50-60 people. The only thing is that it's cash only. EVERYONE LOVED THE CAKE including the birthday girl who thought it was beautiful. He was able to accommodate my request and it turned out exactly how I wanted. We ordered the yellow cake with fresh strawberries as a filling. The price was reasonable and I love how the cake isn't overly sweet. The frosting here is like whipped cream, it has a light whipped texture. I was pleasantly surprised with the outcome of the unicorn cake, so I decided to come back again with another custom order. I give this place one star is basically only the sponges inside the cake taste good cuz less sweet but however the pendant (Mickey ear, dot, etc) overly sweet. Very deceiving with so many post of nice cakes they've done but no one has so far post on the ones that goes wrong. I guess I will start that. I love supporting mom & pops and hate to have to write this on a negative note but here goes. Chose this place for a few reasons, saw good pics of their cakes from fellow yelpers, good reviews, they did a monsters inc cake in the past so i figured they couldn't go wrong and a descent price. But the totally screwed up on the cake. I showed them pictures of what i wanted and how i wanted it. The lady owner asked me to email the pictures for their references and i also indicated what and how i wanted on there. Even after that, i didn't get what i asked for. Style and color was all wrong. For my sons first birthday and the host item was wrong, it really sucks. I specifically told them baby blue and they gave me teal. The cake was also supposed to have purple dots NOT flowers!! It's a boys cake for goodness sakes and sully from monsters inc has dots on him, not flowers. The strings was all suppose to flow downwards NOT a bunch of blobbed noodles that looked like its been in a tub shaken up. The letters on the babies smash cake could have been stenciled but looked as if he did it blindly by an amateur. I could have done better with the lettering but for someone who does it as a profession, come on. The owners seemed nice but looked as if this job is what pays the bills then have any passion into it. I got Taro for filling and it tasted like powder Taro instead of real taro. It came out clearer gel like consistency and lacked a lot of taro flavor which was NOT good. I should've stuck with where i got my wedding cake which their taro filling were amazing with all real taro. My suggestion/tip to anyone: Only go to them for simpler cakes or ones they have done and do it exactly what is on there. They don't know how to think or care to think out of the box or be creative at all. Lastly: Their english is not the best. Probably best if you can speak Vietnamese and explain what you want if you want a more complicated cake. But my cake was quite simple and they still screwed up. read more

I was looking for an affordable custom cake place, to surprise my boyfriend with a cake during his birthday DJ set at an event. The reviews and photos were so positive that I had to check it out, even though Alhambra was out of the way. I called 2 days before the event and there was no problem at all. I described what I wanted, chose the mocha cake when they didn't have the red velvet I wanted, and e-mailed a photo of the design (his DJ logo from a business card). The man I spoke with was very short over the phone (but a hella talented cake artist) and there wasn't any follow-up, leaving me slightly worried, but when I called the day of the event, I was told that my cake would be ready by the time I needed it. The cake was beautiful and perfect.... exactly what I wanted! A small-ish sheet cake for 16-20 servings was $55, and I got a little plastic cake server too. It's cash only, but I can live with that. I was in and out the door in less than 5 minutes, with convenient street parking. My man LOVED the cake and it got rave reviews from all who tried it. The mocha cake was soft, spongy and light in texture, which I love. I'm definitely going back for any other custom cake I need! read more

I called asking how much, because I would be driving from Pasadena. They wouldn't give it to me, saying it depends on what I want. I asked for their brochure, whatever they have, and still they wouldn't give a price.
