Been to several of their locations, first time to try it in Alhambra. Wanted an after lunch dessert, but they only open at 2 pm Mondays through Thursdays. So we waited for a bit by walking around and came back to a surprising line of customers. Nice selection of the standard flavors to fairly unique. Sampled a couple of them before settling on the Cookie Monster. Well worth the calorie splurge. Nice, clean place with friendly service.

Five stars to the guy that helped this huge group of girls who wanted to sample everything but didn't buy anything. He was the epitome of patience and class. I wouldn't have kept my cool the way he did. Oh and the ice cream is excellent. Very expensive though but I was happy with the size of the scoop.

My husband wanted dessert after dinner and we stopped by Afters Ice Cream. We found parking in a parking across and walked over. It's my first time here and the staff didn't offer any samples. I just went by what was a safe choice, which is Madagascar vanilla on a Cone with Captain crunch topping. My husband got 1 scoop with Chocolate syrup topping and a root beer float. We sat and ate there and left. I enjoyed it and would stop by again. I think they can work on customer service and greetings. They just kind of stare and wait until you order. An offer or recommendation would be nice.

Our Mandatory "After Dinner in Alhambra" Stop Anytime my hubby and I have dinner in Alhambra, this place is basically our automatic next stop. Dinner isn't officially over until we grab ice cream here. It just hits every single time. I'll admit something though -- I am extremely loyal when it comes to flavors. Once I like something, I stick to it forever. But lately I've been trying to step outside my comfort zone a little. One of my long-time favorites here is the Milk & Cereal flavor. It's simple but so good. Recently though, they introduced a Biscoff/ Cookie Butter flavor, and wow... that one is absolutely to die for. Last night they also had a Lunar New Year cookie flavor, which was surprisingly delicious, and then I saw Dubai Chocolate on the menu. Now I'm usually not a chocolate person, but if you put the word Dubai in front of it... suddenly I'm interested. Hubby and I always share, so we ordered two scoops: Cookie Butter and Dubai Chocolate for about $7.50 plus tax. * Cookie Butter - 9/10 * Dubai Chocolate - 7.5/10 (it kind of reminded me of a mint chocolate chip texture... just without the mint) * Added Captain Crunch cereal on top and wah-laaa* The shop itself is nice and cozy. There are a few tables inside and a couple outside -- probably around four total -- and the space feels welcoming and relaxed. Service is always friendly and efficient. Even when there are 8-10 people in line, don't worry -- the line moves fast and you're usually in and out pretty quickly. If you're finishing dinner in Alhambra and craving something sweet, this spot always delivers. Happy eats!

We parked on the street near the parking structure behind Charlie's trio on First St. Came here on a rainy day. There werent any customers so it was quiet. We came for some ice cream and half of the ice cream had labels the other didnt. I asked what those flavors were and the staff member told me it was the same as the other side. I got 2 scoops, and my husband got a shake and an ice cream bar. They had a Thai tea flavor and I asked if that one contained any caffeine, they did not know the answer ro that. They also had some merchandise for sale as well as some of pints of ice cream. Their register had some issues when we were trying to pay. They restarted the device and it started working again.

Review #939 2026-003 Ice Cream Order: Cookie Monster (vanilla base ice cream, Famous Amos cookies, Oreo, fudge) & Matcha Berry Crunch (Japanese matcha ice cream, strawberry swirl, crunchy white chocolate pearls) with Sprinkles $8.70 Strawberry Cookie Crunch (strawberry ice cream, chocolate chip cookies) $6.25 I first heard of Afters Ice Cream just before the pandemic lockdown... their unique "milky bun" ice cream sandwiches were all the rage. It was a glazed donut stuffed with a scoop of ice cream that created a yummy, messy contrast of hot (donut) & cold (ice cream). Afters Ice Cream has a space in the digital food court in my neck of the woods, but I wanted to visit the actual store to sample of flavors before committing to an unfamiliar brand. We just finished lunch & was pretty stuff when my brother mentioned their shop was just a few doors down. The ice cream shop is located on the corner of Main & 1st Sts. No dedicated parking lot but there's free street parking; there's a free parking structure, aptly named "First Street Parking Structure" (refer to Review #938), around the back. The space is a bit minimalist with a huge Street Cred mural tagging their PR outreach, & 4 tagline murals further in on the left... my fav is "ice cream is cheaper than therapy." Hehehe... Afters was empty at lunch rush; there was just us & only 1 server behind the counter. My l'il guy & I sampled a few flavors before choosing a shared cup of 2; he tried Cookie Monster & Milk & Cereal, & I tasted Matcha Berry Crunch & Strawberry Cookie Crunch. We both ended up with our initial pick, & my brother got Strawberry Cookie Crunch. I didn't get the milky bun because I wasn't sure how fresh it would be since there's no customers; other reviewers noted it was a hit or miss... inconsistent temperature, stale bun, or not available (I didn't ask since I didn't want to handle the hot, sticky mess because there's no public restroom to be seen). I personally prefer Bruster's Real Ice Cream's Cookie Craze more over Cookie Monster for flavor & texture; both consists of blue vanilla ice cream & Oreos with the former having dino sugar cookies & cookie dough, & the latter having Famous Amos cookies & fudge. My son says they're both tasty! I had to wait a bit for him to scoop out his flavor since it was on top & mine was buried underneath. Once I saw green, I dug in; it had pretty good matcha flavor, earthy & creamy, & paired well with sweet strawberry swirls (sort of edible version of strawberry matcha drink) & crunchy pearls for texture, but didn't taste much white chocolate flavor (usually has notes of milk & vanilla). M only took a couple of bites before his lips were stained blue! I'm guessing there's a lot of artificial coloring (blue dye) for the bright hue. It wasn't temporary even after drinking boba shortly after & rinsing his mouth when we got home. For a cold rainy day, the ice cream melted faster than I would expect. I'm glad I didn't opt for a (waffle) cone, which is a $1 surcharge. It doesn't look like they offer traditional wafer/cake cones which usually included for single scoops. My brother seemed to enjoy his pick since he finished it. While there were 4 sections containing 6 flavors ea., some of them were repeats. Afters Ice Cream is expensive, though portion is somewhat decent for the price. For 2 scoops, it would be cheaper on the wallet for a single flavor pint since it's only $1 more. However, a quart is more expensive & best to opt for 2 pints (= 1 quart) for 2 different flavors & a cost savings of 60¢ ($18.50/quart - $17.90/2 pints). Yikes! \(`0´)/ It's noted that they don't accept cash. And I teach my kids how to use cash & perform simple math in their head for small purchases like these using their birthday or red envelope money, but it seems like we're heading towards a cashless society? I'm a fan of boba shop ice cream flavors & plan to try Jasmine Milk Tea & Thai Tea. Curious to see if their flavors are similar to eating a boba tea than drinking. Afters Ice Cream is pricey for my empty wallet (laid off last fall), but I wouldn't mind stopping by for this sweet treat every now & then. Recommended: Matcha Berry Crunch, Strawberry Cookie Crunch, & Cookie Monster (I'm not a fan of the blue dye, but my child likes it).

We ordered a sundae and milkshake to share, and wow they both blew me away. The unique flavors they have were very interesting. We ordered the Cookie Monster and vanilla sundae. Both were beyond delicious, almost ordered more but we set our boundary to not overeat, but will be coming back to try other fun and wonderful flavor available.

The Root Beer Float was very delicious and nice.

Came around 8pm and it was sorta packed but there were many options for ice cream with may flavors to choose from, the root beer float was yummy and tried some chocolate ice cream my brother got and it was also yummy, I liked how the place was decorated with funny signs and chill vibes and even with the long line I feel like the time went by quick.

This is a very popular place for .... ice cream, of course! Get yours in a cone, cup, sundae, milkshake, float, or in their signature Milk Bun (which is too sweet for me). I was happy to see they have Dubai Chocolate flavor (made with pistachio ice cream and) and Cookie Monster! You simply cannot go wrong with any flavor. The ingredients are exceptionally good. The menu is simple, they know their products are delicious, creative and pleasing for all ages. Try them, I am sure you will agree and don't forget to tell'em that Rosemary sent ya.

    Pure bliss.

When I lived in Las Vegas I would frequently stop at the Virgin Hotel & Casino just to get some Afters Ice Cream, well luckily Los Angeles is filled with these and I made my way over to the Alhambra location for the first time a few weeks back. We kind of ended up here by accident, but I was super stoked to eat some since I haven't for a long time. This small shop has a bunch of different flavours, a bunch of cool merchandise, some seating, and some even more flavours and styles of ice cream. I wasn't feeling too frisky, so I kept it simple and went with three scoops of ice cream inside of a waffle cone. Flavours? I went with chocolate, mint chocolate chip, and blue monster. Each flavour was extremely rich and tasted amazing and this place continues to be one of my favourite ice cream shops. Overall, Afters Ice Cream is a top notch ice cream parlor and one of my absolute GOATS. This location was clean, looked great, had a friendly staff, and the ice cream was amazing. What else can you ask for?

My spouse and I stopped in for the first time, and we were immediately impressed by how welcoming and friendly the staff was. The atmosphere felt inviting, and the service was great. The ice cream is seriously good -- the flavors are unique and the quality is top-notch. I tried the Cookie Monster and Mint Monster, and both were absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be coming back! I also love that they offer packaged ice cream to take home

We had just finished dinner when we stumbled into Afters, much closer to their closing time than we expected. Even though it was 11:30 (30 minutes till closing), we were still greeted with happy faces! The ice cream was amazing! I was not expecting milk and cereal to taste as good as it did but I was pleasantly surprised at the taste and texture. It was creamy and delicious! Not too sweet, with perfect amounts of toppings. I highly recommend Afters for anyone craving some yummy yummy ice cream!

My husband and I stopped by for some dessert when we had dinner nearby. This is a good location. It's near a lot of restaurants and a movie theater so it's the perfect hang out spot or dessert spot after some dinner. Service was good. There was a line but it moved rather quickly and the person helping us was really nice and patient. I didn't feel rushed or bad about sampling a few flavors. I was disappointed that they ran out of the strawberry matcha, which is what I originally wanted. I ordered the strawberry cookie crunch and Jasmine milk tea. I really liked the strawberry cookie crunch; had a great strawberry flavor and the bits of cookie added some texture to the bites. I was a little disappointed with the Jasmine milk tea as I wanted more of the Jasmine taste/flavor. The ice cream itself was creamy and delicious. I would definitely come back!

This is in the same tiny plaza as Golden Deli and Bopomofo, so parking can be tough at peak dinner time. The good: the taiyaki texture was nice and crunchy. The ice cream was smooth and not icy. The price is good for amount you get. The bad: the store was extremely cramped and hot. It's a very tiny shop so easily felt packed inside. I was annoyed when they called my order but I was struggling to get through the shop to get my order. By that time the employee had walked away. I was annoyed because when she came back she completely ignored me and handed someone else their order and walked away. I don't understand why they keep the completed orders way behind the counter if they don't even verify the correct person is picking up... after being skipped over twice I finally cut in and interrupted the other employee for my order and she was like oh... sorry it's melted. Like yeah it's been sitting there and I didn't want to go into the employee area to get it! That was really irritating. The ube flavor was bland. It tasted like milk, I did not get any ube flavor. The custard in the taiyaki was just okay. The worst part was that the taiyaki had a really off putting taste on the outside... almost like the aftertaste of margarine or something, it bothered me. Overall the flavor and service was lacking and the experience inside was not good. On our most recent visit - admittedly our first in a while - I was surprised that the flavors mostly seemed like repeats from a long time ago. Of course, you want to feature what is most popular, but I remember previously seeing things that were truly one of a kind, even for them. (Out of curiosity, I visited their website and the seasonal flavor blog hasn't been updated since spring 2021). None of this is a deal-breaker, but the feeling of "tiredness" permeated my interaction with the staff, too. There was no joy behind the counter, which I found odd for ice cream that is supposedly about the love of travel. When I tried to order a scoop of one flavor, I was told that I couldn't have it because there wasn't enough left for a full scoop. When I asked if I could have the half scoop that remained and just combine it with another flavor (trying to solve the problem for them), I was told that they aren't allowed to do half and half splits anymore. Fortunately, another employee showed up at that very moment with a fresh full tub of that flavor, but it still struck me as odd. They were also out of cones because of another problem. I am giving them four stars because the ice cream is still great and definitely worth a try if you've never had it, but I hope they can maintain their spark and magic as they continue to expand.
