    Mango cake
    Sue I.

Quite possibly one of the best mango cakes in SGV! It was hubby's birthday and he loves the light angel cake with a good ratio of frosting to cake. I was going to get a small cake slice but luckily Olympic Bakery had a fresh batch of mango cakes available as I walked in. The owners were super helpful and even included a happy birthday sign. They were really friendly and sweet. The cake tasted amazing. Very light and packed with fresh mango chunks and slices. The frosting wasn't too heavy. Every bite was scrumptious and soft like biting into a cloud. I will definitely be back to try other flavors. This is a small shop in a strip mall and has plenty of parking. I got lucky with getting the cake that I wanted by simply walking in. I suggest pre-ordering your cakes a day or two before the day you need it.

    Cute cakes!

Very organized bakery with a great assortment of cakes, breads, cookies, savory items like chinese radish cakes. The lady that worked the counter was efficient and polite. This is a great place to pick up a quick cake or some pastries for the family. They even have sheet cakes you can order. It's not a very big bakery and no tables or seats, so it's a grab and go kind of bakery.

If you're looking for a Hong Kong-style fresh fruit cream cake with a light, airy chiffon style cake, with layers of stabilized whipped cream (rather than heavy buttercream), and an abundance of fresh, often glazed, fruit - then this is the place for you!!! Overly sweet cakes have their time and place. But not at this particular event. I needed lightly sweetened to appease my audience of mostly wiser individuals. Called 1 day in advance for a 1/4 sheet mango cake order and William answered, he got the details and requested a deposit via Zelle for the cake. They do have a website with pricing and pictures and it looks like you can place orders on there too but I just did it the old fashioned way and called it in. The cake was moist, only a tad sweet and the fruits were fresh and delicious. This is our 2nd time getting a cake here and it the price and taste do not disappoint. In addition, I purchased 2 breads to go and I'm glad I did! Both were so freaking good. The pineapple bun bread and this green onion, sesame seed, pork sung, butter bread. So delish! William says there's a possibility that another location will open in Hacienda Heights so fingers crossed! Happy Lunar Year!

Olympic Bakery did an amazing job on the half-sheet mango cake I pre-ordered for my coworker's birthday! William Shih, the owner, is incredibly attentive and offers great pricing. The mango cake was perfectly fresh -- not too sweet, with a light and super moist sponge. It had just the right balance of flavor and texture. Highly recommend!

    Quarter sheet Mango Cake!

I was asked to get a mango cake for "Mei's" birthday. As I have never tried mango cake before, I googled ,"best mango cake" and cross referenced with yelp. So, that is how I chose Olympic Bakery for "Mei's" birthday cake. I called and inquired about a quarter sheet cake. They were friendly over the phone and answered all the questions I had. I said I would call back to order and forgot as I was having lunch. Later, I drove to the bakery to pre-order the cake. The bakery is in a strip mall and somewhat hidden. It's small in size but has lots of different breads. I ended up getting a few on top of the mango cake. I loved the fact that this bakery is family owned and my cake was made to order. This family business should not be overlooked! Fast forward, everyone loved the cake and there was more than enough for 25 people. Everyone mentioned that it was just the right amount of fluffiness and sweetness. The sweetness was minimal and that's was what I was going for! Overall, the cake was good and it made the birthday gal happy!

Stoped by for some cake! They have plenty of cake ready to pick up. We grabbed mango one to eat with our lunch celebration at a nearby restaurant. We also got some baked items as well: buy five get one free! Staff helped described the items and included a cake cutter and celebration topper.

I ordered the cake a few days before for my daughter's birthday. The cake I ordered was a sesame cake with crispy layers. I called again a few minutes after, asking if I add cream/frosting, how much would it be? The man that picked up the phone said "it will be an extra $20 with some fruits and frosting on top". Since the cake with crispy layers is only $30, I said no thanks, I will keep my original order, crispy layers without the cream. Fast forward to yesterday when my family member picked up the cake , they made my cake sesame WITHOUT the crispy layers, and no fruits inside, with cream and fruit on top. Of course it costs $50! WTH!? They said I could reject the cake, but since it's so last minute, I couldn't find another cake for my daughter. She was disappointed with the cake because she loves the crispy layers. Note to the owner, write down what the customer wants and not from your memory. This is the first and last time I will come to this bakery.

It was my first time here, and this place was pretty busy. A lot of people were picking up cakes and buying cakes like the mango cake that was freshly made. It's not too big on the inside, and there was only one lady who was helping everyone. They had a special going on, but 5 get one free. I purchased a bunch of snacks for me and the family. One of my favorites is the pineapple cookie, which has actual pineapple on the inside. They had sponge cakes and peanut/ sesame candy. They also had bbq bun, which is always a go-to. They also had a mochi walnut cake that was delicious.

Small shop with everything you need! Great service! Best Taiwanese Tamales!!! I drive about 2 hours to get them from here. The breads with the fillings inside are really good! Also tried the crispy layered cake with taro added and it was better than other bakeries in the area.

    Mango cake

The owner was very nice. The cake I ordered (8 inch round cake) was not big enough for the number of people I have. She suggested a 1/4 sheet mango cake and they made me one with very little wait. The cake was delicious and everyone enjoyed it.

My go-to for Mango Cake :) Love supporting this Small Business and going local for baked goodies. My family has been getting Mango Cake from this establishment for years and the quality has remained consistent. The bakery sells an array of baked Asian goods. Hot dog buns, Pork Buns, Pineapple Buns, sponge cakes and my favorite - mini hot dog buns. They have Taro, Sesame, Strawberry, Pandan, Coffee, and my absolute favorite - Mango Cake. Using real fruit, the cake is not too sweet which perfectly suits my palate. The owner, William, is from Taiwan and prides himself on using quality ingredients :) Super appreciate our conversations over the years. Thank you William for continuing the Mango Cake legacy.

My delicious boba milk tea blast from the past! Right now is buy 1 get 1! Call ahead!

I wanted to buy some cream puffs, but as I went to grab them, I felt that the refrigerator temperature was not much colder than the room temperature. Worried about the quality of the products in such heat, I decided not to buy them. The temperature is quite concerning, as many breads contain meat and butter, which can easily go bad in such conditions. The breads with cream and chocolate, such as coconut cream, oreo choco bun, and dirty bun all looked very melted... I typically enjoy their breads, especially the bolo milk butter, but the extreme heat in the store recently has caused me to question if the bread is still okay to eat... Hopefully this will be fixed soon, as summer heat will cause the temperature in store to be even higher

It's fun here cuz you can get a little shopping cart and collect your breads. Kinda went crazy and got a bunch to try. The Black Forest bread was topped with toasted almonds, had jiggly thick sweet custard, and a layer of semi sweet chocolate. The hades bread was the only kinda dry bread and was filled with bittersweet chocolate and had a thin sweet Oreo crust on the bottom like a cheesecake would. The pork floss bread had a swirl of sweet savory pork floss and was topped with nutty crunchy sesame seeds. The banana cream bread was filled with like this cheesecake tasting light cream and had some real bananas inside too. The garlic bread was really good, soft, and had a streak of yummy, savory, garlicy, cheesy goodness. They even had a cilantro pork floss cake?! Wasn't getting any cilantro flaves but the cake was nicely spongy, light, vanillay, and had a swirl of pork floss that actually worked with it. I tried all of them: Portuguese egg tart, cheese tart, caramel croissant tart, tiramisu tart, berry tart, and coconut tart (my favorite). We also got the salted egg yolk croissant for only $1 which is a steal although I wish it was a tad bit sweeter to balance out the salt. It was a smooth process to go in and buy. They also have a variety of specialty desserts that are in the $8 price range if you want something more extravagant. I tried the King Panda which was filled with cream cheese mousse. There's both indoor and outdoor seating, but more of the latter. We went on a Saturday and it was pretty packed but we managed to snag a seat.

Cute store with some cute and unique baked goods. I picked up the regular, caramel, and tiramisu…read moreegg tarts, and an osmanthus pear cheesecake. Out the of the 4 items, tiramisu stood out the most. It has a strong cacao flavor, not overly sweet and heavy. The caramel egg tart is just alright, it is flaky if you eat it warm or toast it again at home. The regular egg tart is 99 cents, it's not bad but definitely not amazing. I think you can't expect too much with that price. The osmanthus pear cheesecake was my least favorite. It is very sweet and heavy, the filling/syrup that they use is too overwhelming. The store was simple and you can smell the baked goods as you walked in to the store. The service was just average, the staff were not very welcoming. Parking could be a problem. Overall, I would give this place a 3.5/5, not a must go place. Their items are just average. If you are looking for something affordability over quality and taste then this is the place to go.
