We found GOLD in Alhambra! Mother's Day lunch at a well known seafood restaurant, the family was searching for dessert to complete the special occasion. Of course we turned to Yelp! Enter Salju! I've been here before, but ever since Salju went viral on TikTok, it's definitely gotten a lot busier compared to past years. That said, the quality is still great. I ordered a regular milk shaved ice with mango and mochi, plus condensed milk drizzled on top. The shaved ice itself and the toppings were delicious, but I'd probably skip the condensed milk next time since it made everything a bit too sweet for my taste. Portion sizes are generous. Salju is in a small plaza with some parking spaces to be shared with the other businesses. Finding parking in their lot during busy times will be difficult but there's also some street parking available. They several tables inside and a restroom for customers. Friendliness of service could be better but the employee was working the entire front (taking orders, making orders) all alone while someone else was taking care of the back. Checked this spot out with my partner after dinner nearby, and I was pretty intrigued by their unique style of dessert. There's a small free parking lot that's shared but street parking is also accessible. Plenty of tables inside and a few outside but most definitely this spot gets packed especially during the evening. You can either order on the self ordering kiosk or with the cashier. Ordering could get a bit hectic as there's just plentiful of options to choose for your dessert. I would rate this place a 4.6/5 I love this mom-and-pop dessert shop with some of the best shaved ice and topping selection in the SGV. The space can get quite packed and because of the nature of the dessert, tables can get quite sticky and messy fast. At peak hours, it can be hard to find a place to sit and eat shaved ice. Even when people leave, the tables usually aren't clean and it's hard to ask staff to clean them when they're so busy. However, the main stars of the shaved ice and desserts themselves are delicious. I loved the milk-based fluff ice and despite the prices seeming high at first glance, they definitely make your money's worth by filling the containers up to the brim. My friend even noted that they gave too much fluff ice and had trouble finishing it! I love how they have a wide variety of toppings that range from crunchy chocolates to chewy mochi to fresh fruits. I once had a crepe here that I actually enjoyed a little better than T-swirl in Temple City because it wasn't as sweet and was slightly more fresh with the fruit selection.
