This place is an amazing addition to the San Marcos area! It's very exciting to start seeing more and more authentic asian food selections in the neighborhood. Our order today was popcorn chicken, pork XLB, crab roe fried rice, spicy pork/shrimp wontons. They are all on point and we will be back for more! Service was excellent, the servers are all attentive and friendly. They all look happy serving the crowd. The place attracts a lot of people and only downside is the parking area which is a shared space with some residential area so it might get a little tough to find parking during dinner rush hour. I can see they will have people regularly going there coming from all around San Marcos /Vista/Escondido. I wish this place the best for their business! I'm just so happy they are here! Tonight, unfortunately I locked myself out of my car at 10:30 at night. So. Cal locksmith came right away, worked quickly and got me in my car for a really good price. The man's name is Ron and I have to say he and his sweet Pomeranian pup, Yankee braved six coyotes hovering around my car just to get me in safely. Five stars totally! I just had one of the best San Diego dumpling experiences ever! Got the pork Xiao long bao and it was amazing. The rice dough was cooked perfectly, and the pork inside was tender and succulent. They make their own chili sauce and to me it had a hint of chocolate, even though my server said there's no chocolate inside it. I mixed it with the rice vinegar and poured it over the dumplings, which proved the perfect complement of tastes. Weight staff was attentive, pleasant, and everyone was full of smiles. This place is newer and we have been waiting for it to open. Once you walk in you can see the chefs cooking and it's so cool while you're waiting for a table (which we barely waited they were so quick) They are very welcoming and attentive. Our service was top tier as they are all watching all tables to make sure it's under control and everything was so clean! I loved the lighting and they have little steamers hung from the ceiling which is adorable. It was a little busy but even with the rush our food came out fast and steaming hot! We got the dried calamari for our app. and it was delicious. Then we got two sides of white rice, beef udon noodles and pork xiao long bao. Our udon noodles were amazing. This place is just ok. The Shao long baos are big but the skin is kinda thick. Their shrimp Har gows are very good, along with their shrimp & garlic spring rolls. I think this place would've been great if I had never been to Din Tai Fung but since we love that place and it's a bit far from North County we decided to give this place a shot. We had tried coming here a couple weekends ago on a Saturday evening, but it was so packed that there were people filling the lobby and outside waiting for a table so we decided we needed to come back on a day when we can make it pretty close after opening. we did so this past Sunday-we got right there a few minutes before opening and we're seated immediately in a really generously sized booth. The inside is very clean. I like the decor and the staff is incredibly friendly. If not for everything else this would be enough for a really great review, however, we just really didn't like the food. We ordered quite a few things -- the vegetable spring rolls, chicken wings the pork chop fried rice. We also ordered our fav pork xiao long bao and spicy wontons as well. Things just weren't great like the fried rice was pretty flavor as even with the addition of soy sauce and the pork chop fried on top was pretty fatty and grizzly. The vegetable spring rolls were pretty tasty, but you really can't go wrong with those anywhere that you go and although we did love the dumplings, they were a little bit too big for my mouth and it made it hard to eat. I've never really had that experience anywhere else with dumplings. I'm not gonna complain that they were too big and that's why they weren't good. It was just that everything was just kind of missing. The mark is the best that I could call it like I wouldn't envision myself coming back here I think it was very smart of us to come right after they opened, but I couldn't imagine wanting to wait for a table here. I think I would only recommend this place if you've never been to Din Tai Fung and if you aren't very picky about your dumplings. read more

Food is a bit on the pricey side, but not unexpected for San Diego dim sum. Quality was very good. Service was great, and all the food came out very quickly.
