Got a haircut here and it's horrible :( I started crying driving home. The experience was not good and my haircut is worse :'(

I went to One Salon for the first time this past Saturday on Valentine's Day. I had a groupon for 3 foot massages and used the first one. My therapist was Jan and she was amazing. The shop is huge, very clean and everyone is dressed trendy and fashionable. Not a lot of diversity with the staff or clientele that was there when I arrived so I felt a little uncomfortable at first :( But everyone was very warm and professional. The massage room for Jan was dark, soft lighting and music playing, there was aromatherapy scents, it was SO relaxing. While my feet soaked to prep for the massage she asked me about my son, my job and really seemed interested in getting to know her clients! She asked me about tension in my feet or back, etc to determine the best massage techniques for me. She was really knowledgeable and put me at total ease, since this was my first professional massage. It felt incredible, I even dozed off in the chair a few times! I am so excited to use my other two massages in the coming weeks and will definitely be a future customer long after this groupon is gone :) read more

I came in hoping to get a nice blowout, instead I had to wait an hour for my stylist to start my hair. She had someone else wash my hair who was not even experienced, he did not offer me a towel so water dripped all over me. I had to guide him through it lol. Then the stylist finally came and gave me the most rudest look and comments about how thick and curly my hair is. She complained to me that her daughter is sick and that i should of told the lady at the desk that my hair was so difficult. I did not know that i had to have silky hair in order to get my hair done. And why did she come to work if she couldn't handle doing her one job which is dealing with all types of hair? So she called other women to help her with my hair and they were so rude as well. They were blowdrying it so harshly i could smell it start to burn. One hairstylist came and they started to talk about keratin as if I didn't know they were trying to hint at me to do it. Little did they know, my mother owns a salon out of state and I have been doing my hair since I was a little girl there and I know what professionals and non-professionals sound like. Keep in mind most Americans have straight hair and most African Americans have frizzy-like hair; I am neither, mine was just really curly and thick and my hairstylist was just too lazy to deal with so much hair. She made me feel really insecure about my hair. I felt like i was being bullied by them. read more

I made an appointment with Ali Slavin over a month in advance to get my hair high lighted. She came recommended by a friend. I made it a couple of days before my niece's wedding. The day before the appointment, they called to confirm it. Later the same afternoon, they called to cancel the appointment because "Ali called in to say she won't be in." No apology, no explanation, no other appointment available before the wedding. So disappointing, and unprofessional Do not make an appointment at this salon unless you want to take a chance of this happening to you!! The male person who called to cancel couldn't have cared less! I had taken the day off work for this appointment. They have no consideration!!!!! He didn't even try to help me out, or fit me in with someone else. read more

Received a call less than 24 hours before my appointment that my stylist (the owner!!) "would not be in" and I needed to reschedule. Really?? I made my appointment WEEKS prior. No explanation, no excuse, just that the owner "cancelled her appointments for the day". Expected something more professional by the owner of this business. Will not be returning to this salon. read more

I had a foot reflexology with Jan. It was Heaven..so relaxing. I will be going back monthly.

The staff is friendly and the hair cut is ok nothing super fancy, they offer you something to drink as soon as you check in, I would give it a 5 stars if the stylist could interact with you a little more on what she will do with your hair and not just show it to you at the end read more

I came in after getting some terrible highlights at my usual salon and needed it fixed asap. Amanda did an awesome job giving me exactly what i wanted! I swear she's a color master, because no one has matched my preferred color that well before. I only paid $30 more than I did for my awful ones from before, so it's definitely worth the little extra money to get quality color done. The fact they're open late is also fantastic. I do not get back in the area from work until 6:00 or so, so I was so thankful to find this place, one of the only ones I know open later! Super classy salon! I followed my stylist here and am so impressed with it. They have great décor and a full staff. It's usually pretty full and there are a lot of stylists. She gave me the best pedicure I've ever had, with massage, reflexology and really great products that left my feet looking so pretty. Jan was so kind and lovely to be around. Love, love, love this salon! Zahra is amazing, and is very cutting edge when it comes to hair. The salon is gorgeous, and I really like the valet parking, as well as beverages offered as soon as you arrive. Apparently they'd been friends and had a falling out - the entire time she was doing my hair she was trying to gossip to me about my friend!!! I've had my hair cut, colored and styled by multiple stylists at this salon. I've also had waxing and massages. I've been extremely satisfied with the results of all my services. In one case, my color did not turn out how I wanted it. I let the stylist know and she had me come back in to get it redone at no additional charge - she even stayed late for this. What I've learned is there's a lot more that goes into hair color than the rest of us realize. Depending on what we want, and depending on what we have, it may not always be feasible right away - it may require more than one appointment, and not everyone's hair reacts the . The stylists have been great at educating me when asking about changes to my color. The salon is great and the staff is friendly. I am impressed by the work see done by other stylists as well. I've been going to this salon since it opened and over all I've had a great experience there. I would definitely recommend this to others! read more

Poor customer service and management.I purchshed some Jane Iredale makeup from this salon. They told me in their records I used # 3. I trusted them.I picked it up and paid $50.00 plus tax. I got makeup home only to find it was the wrong number, not my color at all when compared to the last tube purchased from them.They obviously never updated my profile.My color is #5.I drove to One Salon the following day to exchange for #5.They took the box from me to the back room, somewhere.In returning a bit later,they refused to exchange the product.They gave me a torn box back ,with the directions all crumpled up in the box.Rude.The last makeup I purchased from one salon was a #5 not a #3.Left up to this company (One Salon) I would be out 50 dollars plus, and no wereable makeup. I have gone to this salon a few times now for color and cut and really like the atmosphere and love Katie who cuts my hair. However, the last 2 times I have gone my color has been messed up. The first time it was an honest mistake and I got it corrected no problem. The main issue I am having is this second time when I saw Jill. I got the worst color job I have ever had. I want to say that I am usually not one to complain and have never had to get color corrected before in my life (now 2 times in a row I need it corrected). But it doesn't even look like I just went to get my hair touched up. It looks like I still need to get my roots done. I still have the same roots I had when I came in there, they are just slightly lighter and there is still a definite line around the top of my head. It looks terrible! The highlights and low lights she put in don't even start near my head, they start where the old line in my hair is so it was basically a waste of money and I will be going to someone else to fix it. I don't want her to even touch it or ask to correct it. Needless to say I am extremely disappointed! And when I called to cancel the appointment I set up with her 6 weeks out, they didn't even care why I was cancelling. Most salons would ask if there was a reason why you were cancelling or show some kind of concern as to why 3 days ago I made the appointment and now I am just flat out cancelling with her. I will still continue seeing Katie for a cut but I guess I will look elsewhere for a colorist. Very disappointing! read more

I am fairly new to Michigan and I have been having a difficult time finding a hair stylist that does a great job with my hair. After trying a few different salons and reading hundreds of reviews of salons in the area, I decided to make an appointment with Lauren at One Salon. My appointment was at 1:15 and someone from the salon called me around 12:30 to let me know that she was running about 15 minutes behind. So, I arrived around 1:20 and checked in. At 1:50, Lauren had not come to get me for my appointment yet, so I checked in with the front desk again. They were very polite and helpful in resolving the extra 20 minute delay. Before the actual hair cut, Lauren spent a good amount of time discussing my hair with me and discussing my mediocre experiences at the other salons. This was very reassuring and refreshing to me. She spent a good amount of time on my hair and did not rush through the cut, and I am very happy with the result. Lauren did a great job and she was very personable and welcoming. I am giving my review 4 stars instead of 5, because my appointment was at 1:15, got changed to 1:30 and then I had to recheck in at the front desk at 1:50 to see what was going on, which was a little unfortunate for my first appointment with them, but I definitely be returning. read more

worst salon experience i have had in years. i have never written an online review, but i just called to speak to a mgr and she had left for the day. i received a gift card for a facial. i am 56 and have been getting facials since i was 18 yrs old. when i walked in i was impressed at how cool the salon looked. it wasnt cool from there. i walked to the desk. the rerception guy who was working today april 19th needs to get a personaity and lesson in customer service . i said hell o and how are you his response was fine and i blank stare. i said i had an app for facial he said he would let the girl know. no offer of coffee or water although i could see it clearly on the counter. facial girl came up introduced herself. she then did an evaluation and recommended hydro facial or something like that. she was so rough during massage and extractioni have two welts on my check like the kind you get when u pick your face too much. she was quiet through out which was fine when she put the last mask on she left the room with out a word usually its something like ill be back or are comfortable etc. when it was over she said there was something at desk she recommended me to buy. not a thank you or nice meeting you etc . Im sure she did not know i was irritated so there would be no reason to be cold . im sure she knew when i didnt tip which i dont recall ever doing . Very cold and bad vibe feeling in salon.. Although while i was waiting for app a very nice girl at desk was giving me good info on spray tan i was asking about.when i went o pay the guy didnt say a word such as how was my facial etc altough he did reach for the product and some receipt pad never asking me if i wanted it i just said i didnt want the product. I gave him my 75 dollar gift card and paid the rest. i got a phone call while he was processing my charge and put the phone to my side and asked the guy if he was done and he said yes .Then i said dont you ever say thk you to a customer which he responded that i was on the phone . not true it was away and at my side .There are to many salons around than to pay top dollar for snobby serrvice. hey folks you work in a hair salon . you didnt cure cancer get over yourself read more
