I am a huge fan of this salon. Not only is it a gorgeous space, the stylists are fantastic, particularly the owner, Janine. She does an amazing job and always listens to what I want and then makes it happen. Usually she knows even better than me what I want and makes me look better than I had hoped. I love the products they use and the color line and I love knowing that the various stylists receive weekly education classes to keep their knowledge current! Nothing worse than a stylist using techniques from 10 years ago, and this place seems to keep their staff on top of their game. I live in Los Angeles and I have tried every salon from Beverly Hills to Malibu. No one has ever been able to do my hair like Janine. I fly in as often as possible just to have her do it. Every once in a while I'd cave in and try someone out here but every time I'd been reminded why that is such a bad idea and so about two years ago I decided enough was enough. I would definitely recommend Janine, she is awesome with color. And they have valet parking which, when you're not used to the cold like me, makes it that much better. read more

I had some weird layers going on on one side and I was ready to just cut a couple inches off to get rid of the layers. Erika cut my hair in such a way that my length did not have to be cut! I only go to Emily! The first time she cut my hair, it was good. But then I let her do what she wanted and it was amazing!! S he takes the time to make sure every hair is in place and that I'll be able to style my hair just as she does. The owner does not believe in customer satisfaction. I had a Keratin treatment done and not only did it not take, but the hairdresser did not apply the treatment correctly. I even contacted the manufacturer of the product and they agreed the salon applied it inccorectly. After asking the owner of the salon to redo the treatment since they did it inccorectly, he sent me a very RUDE email asking me never to come back to the salon. Is he kidding me???? WHAT THE HELL DID I DO TO YOU??????? my hair is a FRIZZ-BALL THANKS TO YOUR WORKER!!!!!!! and he doesn't care at all. After taking $350 + tip. Your not human Did not consider redoing the treatment the CORRECT way!!!!! I would never recomment this salon to anyone. They will take your money and not provide the service you purchase. Just love this salon! I had highlights done by Rebecca who is really amazing with color. I had an idea in my head and she really worked with me to help me get there. She's friendly and fun to talk to (which is important when you're spending hours getting color done!) I would really recommend her! Loved the whole vibe of the salon and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. Beware of the merchandise up front, I wound up spending almost $100 on all the jewelry and home items I fell in love with! Very nice salon but a not so great haircut. I had long hair all I wanted was a trim and a face frame, ended up with a choppy uneven mess. Went in to get it fixed, looked okay when I left the salon but after I washed it and styled it myself it was a shorter uneven shapeless bulky mess. I have been coming here for about two years now, and couldn't be happier. The entire staff is very kind and great at what they do. My stylist is Ali S. and she is AMAZING! She really listens to what I want done. If I ask her to preserve length, she works miracles while keeping my hair long. If I want to chop it all off, she gives me a flattering new cut.While I have only gone to Ali, the stylists seem super skilled. You really do get what you pay for (yes, it is more high end, but worth it!). I also love the online appointment system. I was referred by a friend to Erika! She is simply amazing and knows exactly what she's doing. My hair got burnt off literally at another salon. She fixed it and made it look like it never even happened. I also had my color and highlights done with her and she nailed it. She styled it really well, I ended up with a "bombshell" blow out. Erika you're friggen amazing. I found my all time stylist. She takes her time with you and makes sure your hair is perfection! Oh and she's super funny too and fun to chat with :-) The salon itself is very big, kinda like a studio. It is clean and the art work on the walls is very cool. They book my stylist so close together she seems stressed to get me done and it seems like I am being pushed out of there (no fault of hers) because her next appointment is sitting there waiting for her. I have been here twice for a haircut. One with Jackie and the other with Kristen. The amount of time spent on both haircuts was well worth the money. I would definitely recommend Jackie, as she spent a lot of time talking about why she was cutting my hair the way she was. I have been in the lightening process for a bit now and haven't seen great results, so naturally I was weary finding a new, permanent stylist/ salon. Andrea highlighted and trimmed my hair. I can't even begin to explain how pleased I am with the result! From the word go, she was SO informative and knew instantly exactly what I wanted!! I'm sometimes picky (due to a few bad occasions with my old stylist) and I am ecstatic that I have finally found someone who perfects this art! To top it off, she was super courteous and treated me great while listening to me talk her ears off asking questions about products and techniques. After years of searching at many high-end salons, were something was always lacking, But I had gone too long without a cut so I just picked Lisa based on the reviews and she was a great choice. Non-judgmental (my hair was a wreck), nice and, did I fail to mention, talented. But it wasn't until a few weeks later that I could really tell what a wonderful job Lisa did. This is the first time I have been able to wear my curly, coarse, frizzy hair down during the summer. The cut was just perfect and looks even better now than when I first got it cut. Not only the worst haircut I've ever had, but the color was way off. It took 3 1/2 hours to try and get my process done and it still didn't work. My formula was written down and they didn't even look to see what it was. They did what they wanted to do, not what me the client wanted. They used a toner on my hair at the end and then that took out all of the highlights I paid for. I tried to talk to the owner about my bad experience and she was too busy and Craig the manager was less than helpful. I made an appt with someone who had many years of experience, yet my haircut was horrible! They used a razor on my hair and it will take me probably six months to get it back to where I can work with it. It is so upsetting! Run, don't walk to another salon!!!! read more

I got the best haircut and had a really nice time at One Salon in Novi. My new style was created by Jeanine Cushion and this woman knows her profession. I have rediculously hard hair to work with - it's thick, cousre and goes frizzy if you look at it the wrong way. Jeanine talked for a long time about different options, gave me ideas and explained things very well. She is an artist. I told her to go at it and man did she. She spent a lot of time with me and kept refining things. All good artists do that - they refine without overworking. I haven't been so satisfied with someone's work in a long time. I've been going to One Salon for a year now and I'm angry with myself for waiting so long to write a review - this place is awesome! The salon itself is very inviting and always buzzing with activity. The front desk staff is always courteous, professional, and very helpful. The prices are reasonable and not overpriced, from my perspective as someone who has been getting her hair highlighted for over 10 years in DC, Chicago, and Michigan. My highest praise must go to my stylist, Amy Gibson - she's phenomenal! I was referred to her when I decided to try extensions, and I couldn't be happier. Not only can she whip up any color blend you want (all over color, highlights, ombre, bayalage, etc.) and craft a your hair with a fabulous cut, but she is the absolute BEST with extensions! I had to see another stylist for extension maintenance while I was in DC for work, and what a mess that was! I made sure to have Amy fix those mistakes as soon as I was back in Michigan. I'm somewhat of a picky client when it comes to the blonde I want, and it's even more tricky when you're trying to color the extensions just perfectly, but Amy always does it with a smile and works her magic to find just the color I'm looking for. She is so lovely to work with and has such incredible color knowledge - I would definitely recommend you see her for amazing color and/or fun extensions (for length or fullness)! I had Yuko Japanese Straightening done by Kara at this salon and it looks absolutely AMAZING! I am more than pleased with the result, which turned my kinky curly mixed-race hair into smooth and straight hair! I can't stop touching it!! I made an appointment for 10:30am this past Saturday with the same stylist I'd seen several times before. She usually runs about 10 or so minutes late, which doesn't bother me, as I understand at times they will have late clients. However, this past Saturday I arrived at 10:25, sat down on the couch and waited. And waited. I watched other people come in, be offered something to drink (I was not), and see their stylists within a few minutes of arriving. After I'd waited for quite some time, the shampoo guy came over and apologized for the wait. I looked at my phone. It was 10:55. I'd been sitting for a half hour. He washed my hair and then told me to wait on the couch near the back of the salon. I sat down, looked around, saw my stylist was at a station right next to me, and saw she was still cutting someone's hair. I picked up a magazine, leafed through it, and waited. And waited. I looked at my phone. It was 11:20am. I was still sitting on the couch, my hair in a towel and dripping wet down the back of my shirt. I pulled off the towel and walked out of the salon. Not acceptable to make a client wait for just shy of an hour for a haircut. It would have been one thing if I'd been acknowledged by the stylist and apologized to for the wait, but I got nothing but a wet t-shirt and my hair washed. I have been here before, but will probably never go back. read more

This place was good but has become really bad. About a month ago I saw one person fight and walk out almost in tears (undo/cut) gone horribly wrong. I saw someone complaining again last week. I liked one or two stylist but it's so hard to get their appointments so when you pick a random one it's scary. I had Heather whom I suggest avoiding; not sure how they hire; has no clue. Once I had a younger girl who took 2 phone calls during my cut. I have them 2 chances and now quit on them. It's not high end now more like Walmart of cuts. read more
