My face feels fresh and so clean after an amazing facial massage, hydrofacial cleanse, red light therapy and lymphatic drain today. Freda is a wonderful, so friendly, warm and a knowledgeable aesthetician. She takes the time to make sure she knows your skin history, your routine, your concerns and expectations for your appointment. She is so right that your skin says a lot about how healthy you are or aren't.

The glycolic chemical peel only tingled a bit on my chest. Didn't feel any tingling on my face at all. Sam is nice, she was able to fit me in last minute. She had to tend to customers in between, but she made sure I was okay. Calming music in the background during my facial. My face feels really nice and clean. The massage was the best part for me. It's a bit expensive, but the facial and massage was good. My husband was sniffing me when I met up with him after my appointment, he said he could smell the mothballs on my coat and everywhere. First the essential oils placed under my face gave me quite a migraine. I have a herniated disc in my neck which I acknowledge that sometimes that could be an issue but for me this has never been a problem during massages. For some reason she placed several, and I mean several, hot towels on my neck which was immediately pretty painful as this was heavy to be placed with heat on a herniated disc, no matter how healed. Then she quite literally covered me in lotion, like a ridiculous amount where I couldn't even get dressed, barely touched me and ran out of the room, almost before I could even ask her for a towel (I was literally drenched in lotion) and before the session was supposed to be over. So I was left in more pain plus a migraine with a shortened session and covered in lotion, and I did notice that she didn't greet me afterwards to offer me water and make sure I'm doing good like they usually do here. This was all very strange and bizarre, but I assumed maybe this had to do with inexperience and wanted to leave feedback as to why this wasn't the best experience, especially since this is a luxury service that wasn't cheap. The owner called me the next day, and she was genuinely one of the most hostile and unpleasant people I had ever talked to. I am not a confrontational person, and I do think I was being reasonable in leaving feedback. She called me and told me that there is absolutely no way that any of this happened, and that she "welcomes me to not return". I told her that this was unfortunate to hear because I had such positive experiences in the past there, to which she told me I didn't go there enough times to have that much of an opinion. She kept telling me that I am more than welcome to not return, and at this point I wasn't going to but I just wanted her to tell me directly that she was banning me from returning for having a negative experience. She was avoiding saying explicitly that I could not return, but she kept insisting I was welcome to go elsewhere. I told her I would probably leave a review of the situation, to which she said "well that's not very nice of you". I told her it's not very nice to ban me for expressing concerns with my session. She hung up the phone abruptly, and the next day another staff member called and offered to reschedule me with someone else. I politely declined. I also want to mention that the ramp to get in the door is extremely inaccessible, I am a wheelchair user and it's borderline hazardous the way it is oriented. If I am to open the door, I have to be on the ramp which is difficult, or the door will push me down the stairs. If you use a mobility aid or have chronic pain I would not recommend, not because of the staff but 100% because of the owner.

My goal was to get the knots out from my shoulders, back, and calves. After about 10-15 minutes, Megan asked me about the pressure. I said she could go firmer but I didn't notice a difference. I was hoping she'd get the knots out but the massage was relaxing. Shes also very professional. Before my appointment, I received 1 phone reminder and 3 text messages (before I typed STOP because I didn't need another reminder).

I was at the Cadillac dealership across the street waiting for my new car. We all know how tedious and extensive the time process is when leasing a new car. Frustrated and completely bored out of my mind, I asked my super attentive salesman Tom where I could kill some time. Being that the area of Novi is not much of a walking city all he could refer me to was the Dairy Queen across the street. Being lactose Dairy Queen did not sound very smart. I wondered my way over anyways being that I saw the Dairy Queen in a beautiful plaza. At the very least he said there was a Gazebo I could sit and sunbathe in (it was an unusual beautiful April sunny day). I did not even pass the DQ because right before DQ was the Gazebo and before the Gazebo was Salon Freda. I literally had no business being there being that I JUST showered and blew my own hair out. Here's the deal.. no one touches my hair but me or my aunt who has been doing hair for 40 years. She unfortunately retired this year and although I have been going to her house for my blow outs for special occasions I feel terrible having to harass my aunt who is trying to retire. I was by no means looking for a salon, it just did not cross my mind. But I think it was meant to be. I walked in and was immediately welcomed by a super welcoming front desk girl. She offered me a drink as if I was already VIP (she knew!). Anyways, long story short... Kara took me under her wing and within 30 minutes my hair was doing all these bouncy movements like I was a CoverGirl! Thank you! Thank you Tom from Cadillac for showing me this new fabulous salon. My blowout was $36 but I would have paid more. It is worth every penny. I was also impressed that they used Kerastase on my hair! Kara recommended some Nutritive brand for my hair. I guess it is smart to switch shampoos/conditioners every 2 years for best hair results (news to me!). Long story short.. I HIGHLY recommend this salon. read more

Briana at Salon Freda was absolutely amazing! My daughter and I came in for a keratin treatment and she was able to get me in that day. She was really helpful in letting us know how to properly care for the treatment, and ways to make it last. She was also extremely knowledgeable in what she was doing, and she told me all the products that was in the Keratin. I was hesitant at first when I heard that the keratin treatment has harmful ingredients, but Briana informed me that there are many different types of Keratin treatments that have different ingredients, and the one she uses does not have the harmful chemical. Having a hairdresser who can tell me the ingredients in the treatment she uses, is really refreshing. Also- As a Single mother who works full time, it is great to have a hair dresser who is able to work on my schedule. I will definitely be coming back to Salon Freda just to see Briana, and I will be recommending her to all my friends! read more

I started coming here early this year. I had lived in Cleveland for many years and loved my stylist there. Even after I moved back to Detroit, I still drove 3 hours each way to see my stylist in Cleveland for a year and a half. We all know what an important relationship we have with our stylist so it was going to take a LOT to get me to change. A friend recommended Salon Freda and Kara and thank goodness she did! The salon is warm and welcoming and everyone is so friendly. They do everything they can to fit you in at a time that's convenient for you. I love Kara! She is amazing with highlights, cut and color and she's as sweet as can be. I am a Kara convert and highly recommend her. I get compliments on the highlights and color all the time. I have been going to Salon Freda for around 5 years now. I love it! They are professional and clean and know what they're doing. I actually stopped telling my stylist what to do because when she tells me what looks best she's always right! She always tells me exactly what will look best and what will be best for the health of my hair. They are so friendly and kind to all of their clients. I love the feeling of being pampered. Recently I went in for my regular appointment and they were short staffed, they were up front about the situation and you could tell everyone was working hard as a team to service all of their clients. I love coming here! Shina is my girl and I couldn't be happier with everything she does: cut, color, style and tips knowing I struggle to do my own hair!! Friendliest front desk service, between offering water to chatting up on the way out. For me it's a nice two hours of being pampered and I always get complimented the next day no matter what is done. I made an appointment with Nicole Windiate after looking through the stylists on the website and I'm glad I did! She was very professional and made suggestions on my color and cut that I would not have thought of! My color has never looked better and I LOVE the cut as well! I tried Salon Freda for the first time for my bridal hair. I planned my wedding quickly and when I couldn't get in with my regular stylist, it was Shina to the rescue! I am sooooo thankful I found Salon Freda! Shina did both mine (bride) and my sister's (maid of honor) up-do's and Kara did my mom's. We all ended up with the best formal hair we've ever had! As soon as I walked through the door I felt welcomed by the front desk and all of the stylists!! The salon is super clean as they disinfect regularly. All of the stylists do an AMAZING job. I've been coming to Salon Freda for about a year now and Briana has never disappointed. Whether it's a blowout, cut or the whole package, I can expect to walk out satisfied every time. Shina is an expert at her craft. Her knowledge of color is so extensive that she should have a PhD in blonde. I learn so much when I'm in her chair. Thankfully, Pauline--the owner--came through. I went back in, and she did some miracle work so I was able to keep my length and get rid of the choppy look. I was going to give one star because I was devastated with the original outcome but Pauline was very kind, and fast with her response and solution and handled the situation with grace and the salon deserves some love. Thank you Pauline. You made me feel heard and understood the assignment.

When I walked in, I confirmed the price with the front desk and she said "actually it's $35, that promotion ended" even though the promotion ad is still active on their Instagram and doesn't list an end date. I said fine. Got the service done, hairdresser was pushing products on me the whole time which is fine and typical. Tells me I need a trim and I said "well that's what I'm here for..?" She said "ohh you want a trim?" I said "yeah.." at the end, they end up charging me $60! I complained to them saying they were constantly upcharging and placing false prices! The owner tells me I'm not just paying for the haircut, I'm paying for "education". ??? So the time that the hairdresser was talking my ear off was $25 extra. Ok. Never returning.

When I was getting my hair done I requested low lights (black) and highlights (blonde) and the color bleed together and I walked out of the salon grey trying not to cry until I got into my car, because I didn't want to make Stacey (my stylist at the time/ and owner) feel bad. I had to wait a week or two (can't remember) before I could get back in and I was mortified I had to go to work in a professional setting and conducting meeting with doctors with grey hair, and expecting them to take me seriously. I was 32 at the time and couldn't pull off the 60 year old silver fox, nor was I trying to. In June/ July of 2020 once the salons opened I couldn't get an appointment. I understood they were over booked and everyone wanted in but I was willing to wait, but no appointment date was offered, and I had to go somewhere else. Fast forward to this past month I made an appointment nearly 4 weeks in advanced for 1/22/21. I confirmed my appointment via text several times and then got cancelled on the day before (after requesting off from work). I was told only the afternoon clients were getting cancelled on, and I wanted to see if I could move my appointment up to the morning. The morning receptionist said she would see if it's possible and call me back. Hours went by and I never got a call back. When I called I was told the receptionist I spoke with went home for the day. The afternoon receptionist I was speaking with told me an earlier day appointment wouldn't be possible. I was asking for the next available appointment day or how soon I could get in, and she told me that Stacie was booked out over a month in advanced and it was so far out she wouldn't even give me a possible day to reschedule to after I had already waited 4 weeks. I was a customer for over 8-10 years and followed her from her old salon. I told the receptionist I wasn't going to come back, and I get they probably don't care, but I'm the third person that I know who has stopped going after years of being a loyal customer. I wasn't a "Karen," I was flexible, bought the recommended products, never complained, even offered to pay when she corrected my hair color, and always tipped well. After being treated poorly for the third time I left a poor review similar to this one on their Facebook page, so maybe the owner could rectify or address or even become aware of the situation. I was giving them the benefit of the doubt (maybe the owner didn't know the receptionist forgot to call me back). But to my surprise the owner publicly lied and told me that they did call me back. When I told her all I got was a cancellation text message and I called back twice all she had to say was that their customers where their top priority for their successful business and they did call me back ASAP. When I told her that her staff isn't being honest if they told her that she said she was sorry I'm unhappy. I asked her that I was just sharing my experiences and what if this had happened to a bride the day before her wedding? Instead of apologizing, or taking any accountability, or admitting this could have been handled better she said; thank you for the feedback, and have a great day. The owner might as well have publicly told me to go eff myself . (This was the cliff notes version) This is the most unprofessional place I have ever encountered. You're better off saving your time and money and walking into fantastic sams or great clips and will probably revive better treatment. If you don't mind waiting 4 weeks and possibly getting cancelled on by text or possibly not being to reschedule with no sincere apology for some blonde bleach highlights then go ahead and schedule an appointment by all means because apparently Stacie is a one trick pony and that's all she knows how to do. Overall I'm disappointed with the service and lack of concern of loyal customers.

While the haircut was decent, I probably won't go back. First, it cost 50% more than I was quoted on the phone, which is enough to guarantee I never return. No one appreciates being misled. While the cut was ok, it wasn't anything special and it wasn't exactly what I asked for. The style I requested is one I've had multiple times before, so I know it's nothing unreasonable to expect. Lastly, my favorite part of going to the salon is the shampoo/conditioning. However, she rushed through it, pulling my hair roughly a few times and slopping water on me... not pleasant.

Had my hair blow dried and styled there in 2018 was done fine at that time. No issue. Fast forward to 1/19/2024. Had this appt for about a week. Walked in greeted ok. Told kaitlyn will be with me shortly. 15 minutes later Kaitlyn came and got me. Went over what I wanted. She said she was young and hasn't worked there too long. I told her I wanted a partial highlight and little darker root to cover my little grays showing. She said she'd do a smudge on the top and a few foils on top (because my hair was already blonde) and a toner. I also said I wanted a TRIM. Took little over 3 hrs. During this time we talked about 2 tape in extensions on the sides of my head she said the owner said $18 each and I ok'd that. Over 3 hours later when I checked out ...I was told $180 I was SHOCKED by that but thought well the color is ok and they were nice and with 2 extensions maybe price was ok. I paid and gave a very GOOD tip and left. The following Wednesday1/24/2024 (5 days layer) I get a call from a Melissa Corrive. I answer and she explains that she is owner of Parlor 7 Salon. I said ok. She said that she wanted to let me know that Kaitlyn forgot to charge me for the extensions and a treatment she did because my hair was damaged and she didn't want me to be shocked when I came in next time and it was added to my bill. WTH?!? Are you kidding me? She never said she was doing any extra treatment on my hair and for the total on the day being $180 + $30 tip I thought the extensions were in that total. Her call was RIDICULOUS .......YOUR CALLING ME TO SAY I OWE MONEY?!?! I should've known what a scam you had going when no one else came into the salon for those 3 + hours I sat there. DO NOT GO HERE AND IF YOU DO 1. Get the price up front and 2. if they call saying you owe money...Don't be surprised. I do NOT OWE YOU ANYTHING. I paid when I was done with my service. WOW...NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL. I AM SO UPSET. Addition- called 5 days later saying I owe for more stuff.
