This place is a great spot to hang out with friends, so it's always busy on weekends. Expect a wait around dinner time until close. Especially because most people are hanging out and drinking even after they finish eating. I've only been here when it's really busy, but the servers don't check on you unless you press the button on the table. We didn't know about the button, so we waited a while, expecting a server to help us and they just never did until we found out about the button. Once pressed though, they're pretty responsive. The karaoke rooms are fun for groups and easy to reserve. Love the vibe, the lights, the YouTube options, not to mention the food and drinks. The rooms also have a button you push for service and they're pretty responsive. If you're letting loose in there, expect to spend a bit of money because it's easy to just keep going with the drinks lol also, when I went, we were even able to extend our time because there weren't any reservations after us. SQUID TEMPURA: LOVE this!! If you love squid and tempura, it's perfection! It has great flavor and comes with a tempura dipping sauce too. KIMCHI BULGOGI FRIES: This is fine for a group to snack on while drinking because there were a ton of fries, but there was barely any bulgogi or kimchi. Because of this, I don't really think it was worth the price. It should've been more loaded for sure. FRIED BEEF BULGOGI DUMPLINGS: Came with 10 dumplings! Way more than I was expecting. It was delicious and so flavorful! Loved the crunchiness and dipping sauce provided. JAPCHAE: Not to be confused with japchae-bap, which comes with rice, this is just the glass noodles and veggies. It was chewy and delicious! It's a more mild flavor, but in a good way. The only downside is that there wasn't much beef. BULGOGI: Someone pointed out that the color looked dull and it wasn't sizzling when it came out, but it didn't take away from the flavor at all! It was delicious, flavorful, and was a pretty big serving! WHOLE WATERMELON SOJU: You're definitely paying for the gimmick here, but I think everybody knows that. It's fun to get as a group for the pic, but it's definitely overpriced and wasn't even filled to the top like the pineapple was. It's good, but goes so fast. I'd say get it once if you want to try it, but you won't really need to get it again. Really fun Korean noraebang (karaoke) bar that has a bit of everything! The restaurant area does not take reservations for large parties so we ended up booking a private karaoke room. The reservation process went smoothly as the staff is quick to respond on Instagram and overall very accommodating. The karaoke seating arrangement made it hard for people to get in and out of their seats, but otherwise we really enjoyed our time in the room! They initially told me I had to cast my own karaoke via YouTube, but I was able to ask the staff for the actual karaoke machine. The karaoke machine is a classic Korean machine, but there were plenty of English songs to choose from and I thought having the actual system made the experience more fun for us. Food was actually quite good and they have a good variety of dishes! It was the perfect way to introduce non-Korean friends to many different types of traditional food. Some stand outs include Korean fried chicken, LA Galbi, and japchae. I wish I ordered the regular tteokbokki instead of the rose ttekbokki, which was made with a different sauce that didn't taste like tteokbokki at all. This place can be pricey but overall was a great venue to do karaoke with friends as well as eat amazing Korean food that tastes authentic. My only concern would be that we got the soy garlic and spicy KFC and both tasted more like soy garlic and we couldn't really taste the difference. I would recommend making a reservation if you have a large party or want to do karaoke. There is the option to connect someone's phone via bluetooth to queue songs or you can use the installed machine but it can be difficult to use if you are unfamiliar with Korean. I was able to navigate it with some help from the staff and overall they are super friendly and provided great service. One Shot Pocha has become a staple in my social life. Whenever anyone says "oh I haven't been" I immediately make them pull out their calendar and set up a date with me to go. Anytime anyone wants to party somewhere, 90% of the time it will probably be at One Shot. Sure, there are lots of karaoke spots in Houston, but hot damn is the food great here. Almost every other karaoke establishment in Houston has subpar food - food is an after thought, the alcohol is cheap, and they are mainly there to get you cheaply drunk so you can keep spending on the hourly karaoke room rate. Not One shot! They have some of the best korean fried chicken in the city. With their great food and the fun soju selection, you are guaranteed a great time. Our go to for the eats are obviously the korean fried chicken (I prefer the soy garlic), the pork belly (both the spicy and non spicy are fantastic), Kimchi pancake, rice balls, and the cheese corn! The fried pork cutlets and japchae are also yum. The fresh fruit sojus are dangerously delicious - both the watermelon and pineapple are fantastic (slight preference to the pineapple). Sometimes will experiment and mix up our own drinks, like combining the banana makgeolli with the coconut soju. If you order the plain Jinro's you can get the adorable jinro frog dispenser to go with your drink (might need to give them your ID as collateral since people have tried to steal those adorable little dispensers). As for the quality of the karaoke itself - you pretty have unlimited options since you can just chromecast your phone's youtube app with the TV screen. The rooms are comfortable with adorable Kpop pillows and decor. Service is great (shout out to Alex for always being so helpful and pleasant). They have specials where if you spend a certain amount of money on food/drink per hour (depending on the room size you're in) they will comp the karaoke room fee! This is seriously one of my favorite places in Houston - I always have a blast and everyone I drag there leaves happily impressed. read more

I LOVE pochas. I'm so happy there are so many Korean bars everywhere because I'm the biggest fan of Korean food. I don't love drinking but if I were to, I'd definitely want to pair it with corn cheese and deokbokki. One Shot Pocha's vibes are immaculate. They play 10 different K-Pop music videos on screens all over, and they're blasting a separate K-Pop song too. They have string lights and soju bottle caps and full-size stand-ups of IU and Red Velvet's Irene and BlackPink's Jennie. They also have this really cute soju bottle wall, which is perfect for photos. I think their food is really good. It's actually the best food served by a pocha. Their chicken wings are to die for. They're incredible juicy, flavorful, and fried to perfection. The corn cheese and deokbokki are delicious as well. I love how they give you sides of radish. Liquor prices aren't horrible. Pretty standard for soju, but I can't speak for anything else. I'm not sure if they offer reservations but my friends and I waited around an hour on a Saturday night for a table for 8. This place is small but so cute! I love the concept of hanging your soju caps on the fences they put around each table. Came here for a late quick dinner. I ordered the kimchi fried rice which was good, but I don't think I would prefer it to be made with cheese-- which is what their dish has. The food came out fast and the rice portion was big. My friends got the grilled pork belly and the bulgolgi which was also good, but the portions were smaller than I expected. Newish Korean spot in K-town on Long Point. Plenty of parking in the parking lot. Interior is very Korean; there's about 100 IU posters hanging around and K-POP on all the TV's. We came back with a smaller group of friends (5) to karaoke for a birthday. We got a "medium" size room and it was the perfect little size (definitely can fit I think 6-8 people, 6 to be very comfortable). Despite all the pochas that are opening up in Houston, One Shot is still my favorite because of their food and delicious cocktails. Seafood pancake is crispy and had lots of vegetables and pancakes. Tteokbokki is a huge portion. Whole pineapple soju is one of the best cocktails I've had. You can barely taste any alcohol... delicious, fresh pineapple flavor but not too sweet. Dallas has a lot of these Korean bar/restaurant/karaoke spots in Carrollton so I'm finally glad they opened 1 in Houston. One Shot Pocha has cool Korean bar vibes as soon as you walk in. They ask if you want a karaoke room or just a table to eat at. We chose a karaoke room because we wanted the full experience, and you're still able to order food/drinks in these rooms. What really made One Shot Pocha stand out was their service. Each table/room has a button to press whenever you need something from your server. But even without the button, the servers were always 1 step ahead of you if you needed anything. We ordered a wide variety of food and soju. I believe we tried their watermelon, guava, dragon fruit, and yogurt soju, as well as their peach makgeolli. Then for food we shared their army stew hot pot, seafood pancake, bulgogi kimchi fries, and their Korean black bean sauce rice. Everything was great and exceeded all expectations, the seafood pancake was my favorite though for sure. Also don't sleep on their banchan, it's sooo good. Overall One Shot Pocha is great and I'd highly recommend them. Their karaoke rooms are spacious and have all of the newest songs available. I'd say the only hard part was figuring out their remote because it is in Korean. Luckily Google lens on my phone was able to take a pic of it and translate it so we could figure it out.
