I am new to aquariums. I have been to 5 different pet stores in the past month. That said, when I went to One Stop (OSCP) and walked in, I was not pounced on by staff. I had time to look around at everything I needed. I was stopping in to find a test-kit for my fish tank since I am having issues. I have gone broke trying to get this 29 gallon tank!!!!! So I was very surprised when Dan, had a 30 minutes talk with me, answering my questions, steering me down a sensible path and saving me a lot more money then I was needing to spend. I thought their tanks were great for a busy store. Fish were pretty and looked very healthy. They had a superb selection of live plants, tank backgrounds, fish foods, plant foods, etc. They did have pricey tank decor but that is the #1 observation I have made everywhere, tank decor is as expensive as gas. This store is 35 minutes away from my house, I will be going there and considering this my "GO-TO" fish store. Out of the 5 I have been to, they are reasonable in pricing all around. They could be a little less, but they could also be a little more. This price issue is a reason I will continue to return for mostly affordable fish tank needs. Dan is GREAT! I hope to grow a long term relationship with this staff member as his knowledge, kindness, willingness, and courtesy to save me money, made this a 5 star review! Clerks sincerely try to offer helpful cutomer service however fall seriously short when they have busy rushes. Better training and organization for dealing w rushes might help? Last time I was in someone said they would go get my order in the back. She seemed the only employee on the floor. I had talked to this same person in the morning to put the order because I pressed for time when I came by to get it. I think she's is getting my order. I wait. And wait. The store is almost empty. More that five minutes later I find her in an aisle having a long chatty conversation with the only other customers in the store. She see's me amd says oh yeah I'll go get your order now. Some time later it shows up on one of the counters but nobody tells me its there. Someone else shows up to check me out (back from break I guess). I ask a question about shampoo as she begins to check me out, decide not to get it and turn to pur it back on the shelf. When I turn around she has moved my stuff aside and is checking somebody else out. It is now 20 min that I've been waiting to pay for an order that was ready before I arrived and this is tue second time I've been put sdie for so.eone else while someone was supposedly helping me. I speak up saying I'm next and that I've been waiting a long time. For this I get yelled at in front of the other customers. All these individuals have been helpful and pleasant other times. But perhaps some kind of protocol for dealing w rush situations would be ideal, like if you are the only one on the floor call for help when someone is waiting a really long time and don't tell them you are working on something and abandon task to chat at length and maybe don't yell at customers for speaking up because you don't know what their experience has been until they tell you. read more

I try this store periodically, to support local stores that employ local people. And every time I'm irritated. I can carry ~30 lbs of dog food to my car, but it would be nice If a store worker would 'offer' help! Each time there are multiple workers in the store, and no one asks. Yesterday I bought a ~$90 bag of dog food. 5'1" grey-haired 75yo lady, who hammed it up dragging the bag out the door (yes, I'm ashamed, but still went there.) I even had to step around the guy mopping the floor! Chewy kindly sent me flowers after a rescue died, and the FedEx guy is wonderful. Would be good if this store could get its act together. read more

Very nice pet store with kind employees who are even pleasant over the phone. They had tons of organic and raw treats including freeze dried salmon, lamb, cod skins, venison, and other unique meats. My dog was very happy! I got some all natural ear cleaner, treats, and a very fancy sweater cause my dog gets cold easy. It was a good haul! read more

I've been to a lot of pet stores and this one is fantastic. This one stands out leaps and bounds above others. We were greeted within a minute of walking in with no pressure on a sale. We were helped by Devin and Alex, who I will say were absolutely amazing and knowledgeable. They went out of their way to demonstrate all the animals needs and abilities. What they don't have in stock, they will order and give you many options. I purchased 2 Degus with all necessities from them as well as dog toys and aquarium supplies. They went out of their way to help us bring everything out to load into our vehicle without asking for help. Also noticed that they also assisted another elderly lady bring food out to her vehicle between helping us. The prices are very fair. Coming from a customer service career, their customer service is second to none. This is about an hour or so drive from my house and my boyfriend and I will now go no where else as multiple pet owners. Just moved to the area. Called ahead to see if they carried my uncommon brands of cat food, litter, and treats. They not only had them all but were VERY nice over phone. In person they were swift, helpful, and kind. Carried everything to my car for me without my asking. Very happy to have found my new pet store! 4 stars instead of 5 because the prices are as much or even a bit higher than Manhattan, where we lived for school. I don't get it... read more

They are the most friendly, helpful staff. I brought my "hot mess" Parson Russell Terrier in with me to buy some much needed supplies and return a carry case which didn't fit his frame. They were so gracious and had me on my way, armed with a new bed, rugged toys, sturdy bowls and more. Their prices are pretty comparable to what one would find online and frankly; it means something to me to support local business. I do love One Stop. Yeah, they could be cheaper, but they have a great selection, *extremely* knowledgable staff (Lisa is the best!), and happy critters. They don't sell crap. No dangerous, cheapo toys or gear, although they do try to accommodate most price points (e.g. they carry the bottom-of-the-line bird cages from better makers as well as nicer ones). They can order anything they don't stock. Great selection of dog and cat food, including raw, dog and cat supplies and toys, aquarium supplies, and fish. They have mice, rats, hamsters, etc., and some reptiles (not my thing, so can't comment beyond everything always looks very healthy). They've cut back somewhat on bird supplies in the last couple of years, but certainly have the essentials. I *love* that they make sure people know what they're getting into with animals before selling them one (and they aren't afraid to say no to a sale). I've also never felt like they were trying to sell anything other than what was best for my critters or situation (i.e. no hard sell). I'm very happy One Stop is my local pet supply store. They have another one in Keene, NH, which is handy, especially on larger purchases to save on sales tax. Be aware that there are some variations in stock, though. read more

The staff is very knowledgeable and are always happy to help. They carry a huge variety of quality pet foods & toys. Their prices are on par if not cheaper than Petco. They encourage you to bring your dogs into the store. However the store is very cramped and it makes it hard to bring your dogs in to enjoy the experience. My only big problem is that some staff members have this I know better than you or your vet attitude. read more

Bought a German made leash for $30 . Had it for less than 1 week before the cable broke. Brought it back hoping for some sort of exchange. Clerk brought it back to manager who never came out to talk to me. Said my dog must have chewed it ( he did not !) And sent me on my way . My puppy is 6-months old . I have bought flea treatment, kongs, chew toys , shampoos, a harness etc... Well over $ 200 spent there . Have to say not going back read more

We Love One Stop Pet Supply in Brattleboro - we have a new 1 year old puppy rescue - everyone at One Stop has been so kind and informative about everything we need. We buy stuff and if it doesn't work out like collars or harness they take it back with a receipt. Love them! read more
