One Stop Patty Shop has some decent patties- they are a bit pricier than other stores but the quality is solid- you get what you pay for. I had one chicken & one beef- I definitely liked the latter better than the former. There's a decent amount of filling in these patties & the spice level is solid (albeit I prefer a bit hotter). It is quite flaky but I feel Jamaican patties done correctly are. All in all, I'd be back to try their other patties for sure. read more

Curry Chicken was decent to good, same as Jerk chicken patties, my wife said the beef was good I got 5 beef to take to my Motherinlaw, which she enjoyed & gave a 7/10. Patties were very flakey in good way, Jesus could feed the multitude with flakes. Ackee patty was super expensive at $5.50 but really small & flat but still tasted 10/10 good & without a lot of fillers like onions like other companies. Ackee is expensive so there might be justification for small size & high price but no excuse for the meat patties to be so small & expensive. I wouldn't go out of my way to get these patties but they are decent to good if in the neighborhood & they are way superior to Golden Krust. I was walking with my daughter home and we still had an hour before meeting friends for lunch. We decided to give this place a try to hold us over. Oh my, oh my this place has amazing patties. The owner happened to be standing outside and greeted us kindly, and explained the different fillings. My daughter had the jerk chicken patty and I had the beef. Okayyyy so I was getting a little frustrated with this place because when my boyfriend first put me on to this spot I would go and they were always sold out of the vegan options. BUT the wait was worth it and let's be honest, it says a lot about a place when they're sold out! First let's talk about flavors though (talking non-meat only) jerk plantain, soy fish, pumpkin, spinach, callaloo and vegetable. FIRE! Pumpkin is my fave and the Soy Fish was surprisingly good. I have been coming here since before I could bring myself anyplace. My parents used to come here and then I have been continuing the tradition. It is truly a hole in the wall, without access to a bathroom and very small quarters. You should not be surprised if you order and they are out of items because this place is popular and a solid staple in the neighborhood. They pretty much only sell patties, Caribbean baked sweets, breads and the traditional and non traditional beverages of a Caribbean shop. Again, there are no plates of food leaving from this spot. However, the food that they offer is solid and their customer service is welcoming and prompt. Definitely try some goods when passing through the area. Have no idea why it took me forever to come here, but I'm so happy I finally did! I love a delicious, wholesome and soul warming patty. Funny enough, the beef was my least favorite. There is a young-ish darkskin girl with a nose ring who cashiers the front when the older lady is not around ans she is just a straight repellant for business, hell, a straight repellant for my business. The definition of STANK nasty for no reason especially to ppl who are patronizing the business. No exaggeration here. Their patties are really good! My favorite is the Ackee patty (vegetarian) because it has such wonderful flavor and texture. Although they have a wonderful selection! Their original/yellow patty dough is part of their magic. The dough tastes fresh and so well seasoned. I'm not a fan of their wheat dough which (I believe) is only used for the spinach and veggie patties. Their beef patty is the most popular but I'm not crazy about the taste of the beef they use. I have been a neighborhood customer for years and have had wonderful costumer service from the Auntie. The patties are my favorite in Harlem. That being said, the younger woman who works there consistently provides the some of the absolute WORST customer service I have ever experienced. When Auntie, who is quite cordial, is not there, I have a medium sense of dread about how the experience will be. Today was the last straw. I was ready to purchase at least 7 patties. When I ordered from the menu, I was rudely told what was not available. So, I asked her to tell me what is available. She gave me an incomplete listing. I was able to gather that there was Lentil, Pumpkin and Mixed vegetable (she only told me about the Lentil and Pumpkin). She must have been anxious to return to her PHONE CALL. I asked her the total and she told me $32 THIRTY-TWO Dollars) for 5 patties. I asked her how many patties did I order. She said 5. I told her 5 times 4 is 20. No apology, humility or contriteness. That was it. I had tolerated her rudeness and arrogance with a smile for far too many years. I told her that she needs to get her customer service and her math together. She uttered some rude, unintelligble response. I told her I would speak to Patrick, the owner, about her behavior. She rudely encouraged me to do so and was yelling out loud at me as I exited the establishment. I could hear her after the door closed and she had another customer inside for the majority of her tirade. She must be a relative. PATRICK, the owner, should now that HARLEM deserves better. Based on her attitude and other complaints on YELP, I question PATRICK's clear lack of judgment and/or concern for running a decent establishment that respects it customers. read more

I've been eating at One Stop Patty Shop since I was a kid. With so much changing in Harlem because of gentrification, I am so glad that this shop is still around and I hope it stays that way. Everything here is so good. I love to get a chicken patty with cocoa bread (semi-sweet thick bread) and of course the infamous, homemade lemonade. The place is cash only which I don't like seeing as most people conduct monetary transactions with card.
