Teriyaki chicken and rice with salad
    Deanna B.

I was shopping at a Store near this restaurant. It's been literally three or four years since I've had teriyaki and it just seemed like the right thing to do to. I had moved from my home of over 40 years approximately three years ago and that's really the last time I had teriyaki. It's hard to try new places when you have gone to certain places for a long time. Not knowing many places in Marysville that serves teriyaki I just hadn't made an effort to go get any. I am so glad I stopped in to this place. Some teriyaki places are questionable on cleanliness however, as soon as I walked in, I noticed how clean it was. It just appeared to be very well. Taken care of. I had several stops to make on my way home back to Marysville, so I got my food to go. I finally got home and sat down to lunch. I was very pleased with my purchase. The teriyaki sauce had a bit of a thick viscosity to. It was savory with a touch of sweetness. There was sauce put over the chicken, however not overly placed. You can tell by the picture I took of the chicken. The chicken has a great char on it with the teriyaki sauce over the top, oh my gosh it was so delicious. The restaurant definitely doesn't overcook the chicken. It was juicy and fresh and had the right amount of char on it. There was sauce over the top but not too much. Served with the teriyaki wer two large scoops of rice. The rice was cooked perfectly and had just a touch of the sauce on it. Also served was a salad with the traditional tangy dressing. The price for what I received was very agreeable. The teriyaki plate is enough to feed two people so the value of what it cost versus what you get is awesome. I absolutely enjoyed the meat and the rice along with a salad what a great place to have lunch . Next time I'm in Clearview, I will definitely grab some teriyaki and chicken because they just do it right.

    Not Kung-Pao Chicken

Pig slop! The worst "Chinese cuisine " I've had in the entire United States. Ordered kung pao chicken, got teriyaki chicken with broccoli and carrots and 3 peanuts. The all Spanish speaking staff has no idea how to cook Chinese . Payed 20$ for it with an over cooked egg roll, and couldn't eat any of it. It was foul!! Avoid this disgusting place.

Umm WHERE is the teriyaki sauce!?!?

This the THIRD time, I have gotten take out chicken breast teriyaki from here, and they put no teriyaki sauce on the chicken. This time, they apparently put the rice in teriyaki sauce, and it leaked/pooled inside the bag. Not sure I am going to be going back. They used to put the sauce on the chicken then suddenly stopped. What's the point of ordering teriyaki chicken with no sauce? Unfortunately, I do not realize this until I get the meal home. Guess I will be eating dry, unsauced chicken. I give 3 stars because the food is so delicious. Chicken always seems fresh, not pre-cooked. Just please get the sauce right.

Spicy chicken plate. Not very spicy.

My spicy chicken was a bit dry and not hot/spicy at all but had decent flavor. I'll have to ask them to make it very spicy next time.

Wondering if the food was a fluke on our first visit we returned and oh boy, did these guys drop…read morethe ball. The food here is good and worth the drive if you are in the county, but I am dropping my review to 3 stars based on all the issues between both visits. On this visit, we came for dinner. Dinner specials are about 20% more than lunch. You certainly expect a larger portion and, in most cases, the dinners include an egg roll or BBQ pork or something to round out the meal. That was not the case here. Nope, this was just soup entrée and rice and the portion was not larger than the lunch portion. That was the first issue. The second was not having out water refilled, AGAIN. When we asked for water, the woman had an attitude and the customer waiting for his take out said, You, can grab a carafe from the cooler. I had seen them, but not only was one never offered to us, it should have been placed on the table for dine in. A reviewer called the Almond chicken weird. It's not weird, they just use the same process as the sweet and sour chicken instead or pounding out a breast. I've had it this way a few times and actually like it. Each piece is about the size of a Starbursts, but once battered, it puffs up to a fun size Snickers bar. The advantage is a fully coated, crisp piece of chicken. The downside is it's an illusion. It makes a small portion of chicken look like a full-size portion. That said, the chicken was good, well seasoned, battered and cooked perfectly. That same take out customer asked for hot oil, the same thing I asked for on my first trip, the lady reached down and grabbed him a tiny cup. Yes, the same thing we were told they don't have on our first trip. WHAT IS REALLY GOING ON HERE! The final issue was the soup. As mentioned in my initial review, the hot and sour was really good, but when I asked about another cup, I was told I had to buy another lunch. So this time, based on reviews, I tried the wonton soup. It was about $7 and it was in the same size cup as the lunch soup, so maybe 10 oz or even 8. It was packed with 4 wontons, it also had bamboo and carrots and another vegetable that may have been zucchini It was good, but not as good as the hot and sour and not worth the price. This is a $3 cup of soup, not a bowl, either lower the price or increase the portion. The food is an A, but the service is an F. They are inconsistent and since we have been the only dine in customer's on both trips, I guess all your take out people have a different experience. If this place was in our neighborhood, we would get take out, not dine in and we would be selective about what we order. I think the food is 5 star, but everything else is an issue. When you can't trust the people serving you, it's hard to fall in love with a place.

We started with the pumpkin tempura. It was crispy on the outside, with a naturally sweet pumpkin inside. It was really delicious. It came with a dipping sauce, though the portion felt quite small. The side of lettuce and a chunk of purple cabbage felt a bit odd presentation wise, but once we wrapped everything together and dipped it, it tasted great. For my main, I ordered the vegan herb tofu salad with medium spice. It was mostly fried tofu tossed in a herb dressing with mint, tamarind, and cilantro. The flavor was a mix of sweet, spicy, and tangy. It honestly reminded me a bit of pani puri. That said, the sweetness was a bit overpowering and made the dish slightly sticky. If they toned that down, it would be perfect. We also tried the vegan 17th curry fried rice, which was good. The curry flavor was subtle. My toddler absolutely loved it. Overall, I would recommend this place, especially for vegans. The food was good, with the only downside being that some dishes leaned a bit too sweet for my taste. The service was okay, not exceptional, but not bad either. I had visited this place about three years ago on a busy Friday night and had a pretty poor service experience, so I wanted to give it another shot on a weekday. The food has improved, and the service was decent this time around.

We wanted to add the fresh spring roll. Server said sure but that would come last. She never even served it to us. We ordered the brisket and steak pho. It came with like 5 pieces of meat for a medium. It wasn't even good. She served the water after we got all our pho and it was 6 glasses (there's 8 of us). When we asked for hot water, she gave half a cup of hot water and was pouting about it. It was apparent that she was overwhelmed as she was the only server and cook. We were surprised that she served the other table of 3 bahn mis though. We will never come back to this place. By the way, she didn't even give us spoons. When we asked her for spoons, she took them from another table where there were people sitting. Out of 8 spoons, 3 of them were dirty so much so that they were unusable. Horrible service and less than mediocre pho.
