    Jeremy's work

Jeremy is THE COLOR GOD! He is THAT good that you might need to book your appointment two months in advance, but once you see him you will never look back! Please look no further and make Jeremy your go-to colorist in DC.

It's hard for me to overstate how much I love the consistency of this salon. After a year away, returned to get a cut and color. I have yet to find a better colorist than Heather. My blond balayage was perfect and Lydia was a master with the scissors. Love the attention to detail both took, from consultations all the way through. You cannot go wrong here

I went to Jeremy at One80 salon with a head full of zebra-striped highlights needing desperately to be fixed.

Over the past five years, I have regularly visited Japanese hair salons in Los Angeles, New York City, and Boston while traveling frequently. In those experiences, even when a haircut did not fully match my preferred style or length, the technical quality was consistently strong, and any adjustments were handled professionally. Unfortunately, this experience was very different. One of the defining characteristics of a Japanese haircut is the smoothness, softness, precision, and careful organization of the layers. In my case, the cut lacked those qualities and appeared uneven and poorly structured (the photo from the back). I was also disappointed by the salon's management. Based on my experience, the overall operation and quality control did not reflect the standards typically associated with Japanese salons. Update (May 2026): Over the past 4 years, I have been with my Japanese hair stylist in New York. I returned to the salon to see Keiko because I was hoping to find a long-term stylist in Washington, DC. I had not had my haircut for 7 months prior to that because I delivered a baby in December 2025. Ozuki appeared to be one of the few salons in the area offering Japanese hairstylists. Immediately after the appointment, the haircut looked good due to the styling and blow-dry. However, within a few days, the shape became difficult to manage and appeared increasingly unstructured. The photo on my ID, taken approximately three weeks after the haircut, reflects how the cut settled over time. In contrast, the Japanese haircuts I have received elsewhere typically maintain their shape and balance for several months. Despite my concerns, I scheduled another appointment six weeks after the first haircut with Keiko because I genuinely hoped the issues could be corrected and that I could establish a relationship with a local stylist. At the same time, I let the management know that my haircut had bad form and hope that it can be resolved at the second appointment. Unfortunately, my interactions with management, Liz, were once again disappointing. Rather than addressing the concerns constructively, the response left me with little confidence that the salon could deliver the level of quality I was seeking. This is the first Japanese salon where I have repeatedly had unsatisfactory experiences. Based on the consistency of those experiences, I am not convinced that the salon operates at the standard typically associated with Japanese hairstyling.

This salon is located on H Street and is very small so it's a little easy to miss. The vibe on the inside is very bohemian chic and everyone working there is super friendly. I can't remember the name of the woman who did my root touch up, but she did an awesome job and my color still looks great even though it was nearly a month ago that I came in! Liana did my haircut and she made my hair feel super light, soft and beautiful. I've already scheduled my follow-up appointment and can't wait to come back.

Booked a partial highlight. After over two hours and the worst blowout I've ever had, I realized the color didn't take. I let the stylist know & she could obviously see that my roots were still showing. She immediately went into the back & came out only to tell me, "You obviously will NOT be charged for today & I'm happy to redo the color when you have time." Went to the front, booked time to try the color again & specifically asked if I was going to be charged the $250. I was told "no" & walked out of the salon. 45 minutes later, I received a call from the salon informing me that "we have charged your card on file $250 because the manager told us we had to." I told them this was NOT acceptable to me. The manager got on the phone with me & proceeded to tell me, "It was probably your hormones because we mixed the solution exactly as it was listed on your profile, and this is not our fault." She then rudely asked me if I was pregnant or had hormone issues, neither of which is her business. I then let her know that I was reporting this unauthorized charge to my bank & the BBB. She then outright said, "Good luck with that," as if to challenge me. So, if you like wasting 2 plus hours of your life, only to look worse than before, be told you won't be charged, only to be charged without your consent by a manager who then makes their incompetent service your fault due to your "hormones," then this is the perfect salon for you. If I could give negative stars on this business, I would!!!!
