I waited 30 minutes, and someone who came in after me skipped ahead to the man, who never called "next." SURPRIIIIIISEEEEE, they told me: " YOU CAN NOT DONATE BECAUSE YOUR VEINS ARE TOO THIN" .... OMG they are not just rude but also Unprofessional. .... I ended my treatment with Esmeralda having zero pain and stiffness. She has very strong hands and she knows exactly what she is doing. I am so grateful for her help. Then there is also the practical factors in making appointments when a person is in severe pain. For that Family Medical Group has Melanie. She is also the first person that greeted me. The staff that work at this location are several notches above above any other location but especially two special and very caring individuals, DeeDee and Olivia. Eventhough the staff there is oustanding in everyway these two ladies know how to take to the next level. They always greet you with a smile and friendly hello that right away puts you at ease. DeeDee and Olivia are exemplary at what they do whether your checking in or the actually donating. I know for a fact i would not be coming to donate plasma if not for two young ladies. Donating plasma for me, and I'm strictly talking about how I feel. I'm not good around needles but DeeDee and Olivia explain everything and make you feel so comfortable that it's not an issue anymore. I know I'm helping sick people that need plasma with my donation so that's a big plus. This is the same word that two employees used to insult me while I sat in one of the screening rooms waiting. Turns out, I'm not that person who will just sit there and accept to being assisted by someone with ZERO etiquette who is having a bad day. Yes, I was insulted after politely requesting to be assisted by someone else, given her attitude. Management, I understand that the company does all they can do to save a penny here and there, and to make a center profitable, but at what cost? CSL Miramar should educate staff to understand that Volunteers are essential for the center and if any staff member is having a bad day, communicate to superiors and have someone else fill in for them. Or, in the best case scenario, if they are blessed not to need a job, possibly renounce and leave the position for someone else more qualified. Also, I kindly suggest that staff in the center who are on duty, should carry some visible identification on them when entering the rooms to assist any volunteers. If you are having severe pain in your belly, and you go to this hospital, REQUEST AN MRI. Don't…read morelet them do an x-ray or cat scan. Those are ineffective for GI tract pain. If you have an allergic reaction to something - it's safe to go here. If you broke a bone, it's safe to go here. If you have migraines, it might be safe to go here. But when it comes to your GI tract, go to Memorial Pembroke Pines, Memorial West or Memorial Miramar. For some reason, they don't cater to GI Tract pain. Think before you go to any of these hospitals. Some are better than the others. Staff is pretty nice here. You may get a nurse that's been on a long shift and she will speak over you or cut you off. Been there, done that. It's a crapshoot what you'll get. Have some grace - they are not your family and will not treat you as such.
