Here's a good one for ya.. I went on Credit Karma and they had offered me a loan through onemain financial. Decent offer, see screenshot below. They have you go through a process with your personal information along with your bank account. Then they do a hard credit pull, which lowers your credit score pretty bad.. I got on the phone with them on Friday and they verbally gave me a completely different offer than the one on the screenshot. They wanted %32 on 60 months and that really pissed me off because they had the audacity to waste my time and make me go through all that process to end up switching it up to a loan twice as much in interest!... They think you're stupid. Now all I wanna do is spend my time to let everyone know about this trash business. Not done yet.. So I call today, Tuesday 5.26.26, the day after memorial day (literally the next business day). I call not because I wanted to do business with this trash company, but it was because my credit score dropped and dramatically affected my credit score and all the other places wanted a secured loan with my paid off car title.. So at this point I'm stuck with them and I call them to see if the offer on Friday was still available and this girl tells me that "yes I can see it was a secured loan and you have to come in and give us your title".. Once AGAIN changed up on me. But this time it's because my credit score dramatically dropped, because they did a hard pull, switch up the deal THREE times bro.. They used the fact that my credit dropped (because of their hard credit pull), did not honor the first deal, did not honor the second deal and tried to screw me over completely with their third deal.. Imagine handing over your car title to a company like this.. Imagine thinking you are about to pay off your debt and they switch something up on you and hold you hostage then do whatever to eat want with you.. Loan shark, I mean legal loan shark! My husband took out a loan in 2011 for $5000. Maid monthly payments of $299. In 2013, he lost his job, but he had purchased insurance for loss of employment. Filed a claim in the office. Got a letter thanking us for filing the claim, but they need a few documents. 1. A letter from his employer as to why he lost his job. (Self-employed, bad falling out) 2. A letter as to why he got disability overpayment in 2010. (Loan was taken put in 2011) 3. 5 years of employment prior to him losing his last job 4. Where had he applied for work The ladies in the office helped us fill out the paperwork. They themselves couldn't believe the requirements. Needless to say that after a year of back and forth, we asked for a refund for the purchase of insurance, which was like $120. BS! The insurance never wanted to pay and never paid. They'd send us the same letter with the same requirements. Again don't recommend this place. Rip off. read more

Walked in today to see if I could get a loan to pay off 2 credit cards because the interest on them are ridiculously high. I let them know how much the interests on them were for and then they informed me the interest on my loan would be 35% for $3,000. breaking it all down they will charge me $87 dollars a month on just interest! Complete rip off! They are not there to help you but just to rip you off. I would rather stick to my credit card interests. read more

My husband took out a loan for 5,000 in less then a month it accrued almost $300.00 in interest and some how added a $88 dollar life insurance without his knowledge. I was able to just find away to pay this loan off before the loan accrued anymore interest if not there would have been no way it would have ever been paid off let's just say for a loan of 5,000 if you go full term you would have paid about 5,000 plus in interest charges and fees so sad that businesses like this are not all about helping like they portray but just doing more harm and causing a even worse financial burden . UNLIKE.......... the other reviewers, I have had good service here! I have paid off 2 FIVE figure loans with NO Hassles, and NO Surprises! I HAVE made as many as 3 payments in a month. That means 2 payments came 100% off the amount I owed on the balance(the Principal). The process takes about an hour, and is SIMPLE. Home loan, 2nd Mortgage, RV/Boat loan or Car loan, NO Problem and NO Hassles. They DO call me(ROBO call) every month one day before the payment is due to make me aware. I just expect it and laugh. They were helpful in getting the loan but gave misinformation once i paid off the loan. I was informed that they report every thirty days to credit bureau when I paid off the loan. After finally talking to customer service at corporate I was informed could be 6 to 8 weeks. So don't expect timely reports to credit bureau unless you are late! read more

Place basically had bogus info on me and sent me loan stuff for months. Once I finally called after a year of shit getting sent in the mail I was denied cause the info they had was wrong and wanted me to put a car up for money. A car I don't even own or have. A slightly less shady cash advance place. Slightly. The only reason this gets two stars as opposed to one, is because I was able to apply online and have a loan that day. (I ended up going in the next day but COULD have had it the same day.) When you apply they ask for the purpose of the loan. If you select debt consolidation they cut checks directly to the financial institutions you mention to them. This is NOT disclosed at ANY point during the process, until the very end at which point they say "Let me go get your checks." Wait, what? So you're left having to try to dig up a mailing address for where ever the check has to go to, and trying to find an envelope and stamp which you don't have because NO ONE MAILS CHECKS ANYMORE... and then waiting a week or two to see if your check made it to the place, and cleared. It's been a week for me now, and my credit card company still has not processed the check. Who knows if they received it, or if it was made out to the correct name (the name on the check was missing a letter... to further exemplify the shadiness of this place), or if it cleared OneMain's bank. Who knows? Not me, that's for sure! Two last points, in addition to the online application, and speaking with TWO people on the phone, I sat in this place for an hour and a half. 90 freaking minutes! That's a long goddamn time considering I had already provided all the information, giving them ample opportunity to fill out as much as possible before I showed up. (For added fun, during my 90 minute wait I had to listen to the manager be completely rude to and badmouth her employees. Yup, she was doing this within earshot of customers. All I could think while I was sitting there was, "What a c-word.") I wanted to make my first payment 20 days after acquiring the loan. I was told I couldn't. ... serious? Yup! It has to be between 30 and 45 days. All in all just not worth the hassle. I should've gone to my credit union instead. read more

Springleaf Financial in Corona, CA at Corona Hills Plaza, 340 N McKinley Street, Ste. 102, Corona, CA 92879; does business in a misleading way. They gave me a loan to fix the transmission in my truck and took my clear title as collateral. Then they would not give me the money but held up the work to be done by taking the money to the transmission people themselves. Then I paid the loan off with a Cashiers Check from Chase Bank and was told by doing this my title would be released immediately but they held my title for over three weeks. The 33% interest rate they charged me was not enough for them they kept my title. They have shady practices that I felt I needed to let people know about. For some reason this store in Corona is not listed on Yelp so I have to post this review here. After reading the other reviews I feel other people have had the same experience. read more

Dont go here!!! Terrible customer experience! Went to continue my application from another branch because I was approved but couldn't make it back to other branch I was approved at which I was told was fine. I go to finish my application and told they couldn't approve me. They didn't ask for my documentation to verify my income, the put inaccurate information at payments on my application so now it showed they were unable to approve me. I was a previous customer who paid her first payment on time and paid them off originally because I was able to get lower rate. Needed to considate other bills so tried them again because my first experience was great. Now I'm extremely angry and upset and contacted district manager regarding issue. Still no call back after he informed me he would call me today. I will be filing a complaint against them and taking this matter to highest levels possible due to confusing underwriting process that is inconsistent between branches. read more
