I was very disappointed with the customer service at the Modesto Ono Hawaiian BBQ location. I accidentally placed an online order there when I was actually in Manteca. When I called the Modesto store to explain the situation, I was told they could not help me with a refund or any solution, even though I was unable to drive to Modesto to pick up the order. Instead of trying to assist or offering alternatives, I felt that my concerns were dismissed. Fortunately, Manager Marisa at the Manteca location took the time to help me and was able to resolve the issue that the Modesto store would not address. I understand mistakes happen, especially with online orders, but customer service should include an effort to help customers find a solution. Unfortunately, that was not my experience with the Modesto location. read more

I needed fish! I've only been to three different locations now. This one didn't look good from the outside with a dumpster not behind a fence. Inside, it was better. Staff was capable and prompt. I ordered the Island White Fish mini meal. They called my number and when I asked for chopsticks, they took care of that quickly. Service was efficient. Food was better than expected. read more

4 star for fast food is like a 5 star for a restaurant. I am so happy we have a totaly unique fast food option other than hamburgers and chicken. It's a wonderful option to have. I have enjoyed everything I have tried here from all the different chicken, beef and shrimp options they have. I absolutely love love love the macaroni salad. I am trying to lose weight currently so I love the mini meal options. Just the right amount of food and calories I don't have to feel guilty. Also their steamed vegetables, the cabbage and broccoli, um no guilty feeling eating that thank you very much. Haha To keep it simple this place makes me happy when I eat their and that's always a good thing. It's my happy place. Let me start by saying that I really do like Ono Hawaiian BBQ, but this is the worst location I have ever been to. I've been here 3 times (2 through the drive-thru and once as a walk-in). All 3 times, the customer service was terrible. The inside of the restaurant was dirty and needed a good cleaning. The workers were either rude or too busy to acknowledge the customers. Orders are very SLOW to come out (tonight, I waited 25 minutes in the drive thru). Although nothing was wrong with my order once I got it, I have had problems in the past with chicken being charred. I want to give this place another shot, to be fair, but will probably go to the location in Manteca where things are more consistent and the food/environment are much better & cleaner. read more

I placed an order through Uber eats. Short rib plate (rice, macaroni salad and steamed vegetables) and small salad. Unfortunately I only enjoyed the steam vegetables. Short ribs and Mac salad were under seasoned. The small salad had over powering raw onions that ruined the salad. The small side of dressing isn't enough for the amount of salad. It was my birthday today. I chose to try this place again.I was very disappointed. I got a cold plate, with cool meat, not hot at all. It tasted like it was left overseas and they tried to just heat it up. I had a lousy dinner for my birthday. In the past when I came u got a whole piece of chicken and a nice size Korean rib. Or whatever they call that. I got a piece of chicken that looked like someone tore it into. The giblets thing, it was also torn looking. The Mac salad awful! Last time I was there it was good and way better! This honestly was no good. Then I found a piece of raw chicken in my sauce. I almost gagged. I didn't call them, because this was it for me! Got the chicken Katsu and ate half of it without knowing they served me food with maggots and the chicken was raw. I went in to show them and got a refund but I still think people should know that they have maggots in their veggies so that tells me they ain't checking their food and not washing it. Would give it 0 or negative stars if I could. Drive thru closes at 10, showed up at 9:30. Waited about 10 minutes behind 3 cars. Got up to my turn to speak and no one says anything on the speaker. I see a very obese woman come outside rudely telling some people sitting on the benches that "my store is closed. It's closing, we're done!" Still no one addresses me who's been waiting in my car the whole time. I then had to reverse all the way out and would've hit the chair that was blocking the entrance BEHIND me but thankfully some guys sitting there moved it. Absolutely ridiculous I even have to write this but this is beyond a failure to run a business in that way. All you have to do is address the people you have waiting in line for a business that states they're open. I love coming here! Recently I've been placing my order over the phone or the app and my food is always ready when I go to pick it up. They also have may promotions on the app. My favorite is the mixed fish meal or the bbq chicken. My kids really enjoy the chicken Katsu. They have little kids meals with small portions. read more

I ordered the fire island chicken. It wasn't even strips of chicken. The piece were small dry and the sauce was salty. My daughter ordered the chicken Katsu. This is a great place. Friendly people, prices are just, and food is great! It is a clean place with a family appeal to it. They have a nice dining area with plenty of room for a group. The only thing I would change would be the way the coconuts are now sold. I understand the approach, but the package takes away from enjoying a coconut the way it should be. Ordered pick up through Door Dash. Door Dash instructions specifically stated to pick up the order in store (which I was able to do when I ordered the week prior). I drove to Ono and the doors were closed. They had customers ordering inside but they said they were closing the inside for the rest of the night. They asked me to go through the drive thru. I told them I'm just picking up and my order was ready 10 minutes ago according to the DoorDash app. They tell me to go through the drive thru anyway. I was stuck in the drive thru for 45 minutes to pick up an order that was ready almost an hour ago. I wish I could give a zero. This place is appalling. Over 25 minutes in line for 2 lunch meals that cost more than $25 that I never received. Here is the reason why I did not receive them, I told them I did not want them. In our long wait in line my wife and I witnessed them receiving their food delivery. The door was wide open. The amount of heath violations we witnessed was enough for me to tell the manager what was going on and that I did not want my order. Let's start with two prep people preparing raw food with out gloves on and one was not wearing a mask. There was so much food debris on the floor that it was hard to see the floor.
