Based on the Yelp reviews I read, I decided to stop here on my way home from Yosemite. The establishment is quite small and is located in a strip mall. The ordering process was fairly easy, and the staff at the register were friendly. The biggest disappointment was seeing an employee who had been smoking outside return to the kitchen and begin preparing food WITHOUT washing his hands or wearing gloves--a huge red flag. Thankfully, I didn't get sick. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. The crab rangoons were especially disappointing. On the positive side, the portions were generous, and the prices were reasonable. read more

I miss Hawaii all the damn time--on a hot day, there is no meal quite so satisfying as a plate lunch and some musubi! THBBQ is a bit of a drive, but the food is totally worth it! I ordered a small selection of things because it was my first time and I was hella hungry. I grabbed the Land & Sea (BBQ chicken, crispy shrimp, crispy fish) which comes with Mac salad, rice & veg, but this isn't my first rodeo so I got double-Mac instead. Also picked up an order of crab Rangoon, and the spam musubi because how could you not?! They also tossed in a variety of delicious dipping sauces. Everything was so dank. Just absolute top grindz. I got my food to-go and had a 25 minute drive home and still, the shrimp and fish stayed crispy! It's small inside and tidy, but if you've read any of my reviews as of late, you know that airflow/A.C. is crucial for me to really enjoying myself and it was just so still inside. I didn't love that. Great customer service though! So definitely get lunch or dinner, but you're fine to get it to-go! read more

So we've been here a few times. Can't say enough how DELICIOUS this food is. We've tried a few dishes and it's always Excellent! We've been to a few different Ono's and a few different L n L's but none compare to the flavor and customer service here at Tiki's. They are about a 35 minute drive from us but so worth it! Really wanted to like this place. I ordered 2 chicken katsu plates and an order of potstickers. Chicken katsu came with rice & macaroni salad. Portion size was big!! The chicken was stringy & chewy. The breading was good and crunchy. I did like the sauce that comes with it . And enjoyed their hot sauce. Macaroni salad was ok . Rice was very sticky. Potstickers were a good size . Taste was ok not much flavor. We did not end up eating our dinner. Not a fan . The young boy behind the counter that took my order was very polite . And he did a great job taking my order. read more

Meats are precooked and served from a warmer . Luke warm at best very disappointing especially for the price.

Ordered pickup from this establishment. All I have to say is very mediocre. Chicken katsu was oily and dry. The housemade sauce was basically a downgraded version of sweet and sour sauce. Probably the wrong house I reckon. Service was ok, and the young staff seems to know what he is doing and has a good attitude. I'd rather take a sandwich over this. read more

New Years Day driving back from Groveland where many places seemed to be closed, this place was not! We don't get Hawaiian food often so decided to stop by for to-go and picnic. Reasons for the star amounts: - cream cheese Rangoon was not as pictured, greasy, and smelled a little funky - the chicken's breading was good but it smelled so much of chicken that I couldn't continue eating The rest of the items we tried were good - spam masubi, fish katsu, and macaroni salad. January 2023 California storm. I ordered dinner for the PG&E linemen that were cleaning up the messes that mother (who's off her meds) nature decided to toss around town this morning/today. We usually go here when we have family coming over as the food is consistently good, friendly customer service and price. Our favorites are the BBQ chicken, kalua pork, island shrimp(Spicy) , island chicken(Spicy) and Mac salad. This is our second time using them for larger orders and have not been disappointed. This is my go to spot when I'm traveling to Sonora. This place is about 40 min away from Sonora in Oakdale. I stop here regularly because it's better than any other Hawaiian BBQ spot in the Bay Area. There Kalbi and teriyaki beef and tender and delicious. The meat is high quality compared to others I've tried. I usually get the mini beef or the Kalbi plate. My kids get the spam masubi or the katsu plate, which are also very good. Their Mac salad is on point and I usually order extra Mac salad. I like to add a little of their soy sauce to the Mac salad for extra umami. The place is small and there is one table but people mostly take food Togo. They do take phone orders as well. Definitely stop here if you're looking for a rice plate and your in Oakdale. read more

I've tried this place several times and it is always disappointing. The "teriyaki" bowl has the most bland, lifeless teriyaki sauce I've ever tasted in my life, to the point where the next time I ordered it, I made my own at home. The chicken itself is tasty and tender (right on point for a teriyaki dish, but it's the only positive I can report for this establishment). The BBQ chicken is the exact same dish with the elements separated on a plate for a higher price, and it's seasoned IDENTICALLY to the teriyaki chicken. The macaroni salad is not even remotely "amazing" as some have reported here, but since y'all love it so much I'm going to give you the recipe right here: Boil some macaroni and add mayonnaise.... But if you truly want to make it as special as theirs' be sure to also include about 5 shreds of carrots per serving. Yep. That's all it consists of. I saved the biggest travesty for last. The friggin' Korean Short Ribs. Let me tell you. These pieces of meat were so epically fatty that I had to "mine" them for morsels. I had to throw away the vast majority. Yes, raw short ribs are very fatty, but that's why they're supposed to be cooked slowly to render it out. They obviously don't know how to cook them AT ALL. Also, the flavor was once again identical to the 2 "different" styles of chicken I mentioned. The price? 17 dollars. I'm giving this place an abundantly generous 2 stars and have given it enough go's to be able to decide that I will not return again read more

The food here is excellent and the preparation and service is super fast. We came by just for a break before heading home and the whole family liked what they got. The Meatlovers plate is wonderful, as was the Katsu, Beef and Chicken plates. My daughter ordered Spam Musubi and she loved those as well. Would absolutely come back again. Kind of a long review but worth it IMO. I don't feel like I've seen enough about this place and it deserves more attention for sure My husband and I tried Tiki Hawaii BBQ (next to Raley's) for the first time tonight and were pleasantly surprised at how good it was! We couldn't decide on just one for each of us so we went with the family meal & accounted for leftovers for an easy Sunday lunch it came w/ rice & a Mac salad (very good!!); sauces for entrees on the side. We chose the kalua pork, katsu chicken (so crispy even once we got home!), and the island fried shrimp (to my surprise- NOT deep fried but appears pan fried?) good portions and every one pictured here was delicious! I personally love the shrimp the most due to the spice. Katsu chicken was my second fav because of the light breading with big crunch and the katsu sauce being a medley of sweet, sour, and lightly spiced. The pork was just what you would think a pulled pork *should* be- juicy and salty and a perfect "melty" texture. We have so much left over and are already looking forward to trying more of their menu! Truly hope this helps someone else who was curious but hadn't yet tried Tiki. My wife's family was born and raised in Hawaii so I've been eating home cooked and restaurant Hawaiian food for 30+ years. The restaurant food has been up and down. The two local chains are "all right" and there used to be a great place up in Elk Grove. Seeing a new place in open here in Oakdale made us hopeful for a good alternative. They didn't disappoint! The food was really good - best since the place in Elk Grove for us. I got the Shrimp and Chicken combo and my wife went light with the Teriyaki Chicken Bowl. Regardless of the meat, you gotta have good rice and good macaroni. The rice was cooked right and the macaroni was flavored just right - some places over power with sauce, this wasn't. The shrimp was fried very well and the shrimp had good flavor. The chicken we both got was tender, not over cooked, and the teriyaki sauce was really nice. We ordered by phone and by the time we got across town, it was ready for pickup. The young lady working there was kind, friendly and very thankful for our business. We've been trying to support our local businesses since this whole Covid thing began and this is one place we will definitely continue to support! read more
