I tried Ono shrimp and honestly... it was pretty mid, especially for a $20 plate. The shrimp looked super bland and didn't really have that garlicky, saucy punch you expect -- I feel like I could've cooked something better at home. I was starving so it tasted okay, but definitely not something I'd go back for. Also kinda weird there was no mac salad option... made me question how recent some of these other reviews are. I expected more for the price and hype.

I got the steak, shrimp and noodles plate. Me and my toddler shared. The portions were small, but expected. The food was good, my toddler enjoyed and so did I. Service was okay. Nothing extraordinary, I'm not sure if we were greeted but little to no friendliness. The restaurant has fast food style tables and chairs. I think more elegant seating and decor would elevate the experience.

Steak plate with shrimp and rice $20.25

I'm terribly disappointed in the portion sizes that Onos gives now. This review has been sitting in my drafts for a while now, but I've finally decided to post it. Service was alright. Kinda sucked that the drinks fountain wasn't working, but they gave us a canned drink instead so at least that made up for it. Our large steak plates came only half way full, with 1 scoop of rice, and barely dressed salad. I paid almost $20 a plate that wasn't even full unfortunately. Steak was meh, quality has definitely dropped over the years. I shouldn't be paying an upwards of $60 and everyone's still hungry. Positives: Workers are nice, I appreciate the condiment bar, and a good amount of seating options for a to-go plate establishment. Cons: Flavor isn't up to par, portion sizes, and price. For me, the cons outweigh the pros unfortunately, so I probably won't be back, which makes me so sad because I used to love this place.

Honestly, I love it when I stumble upon places like this. I happened to be driving by Waimanalo, and the hunger hit, and luckily, this place popped up as close by. I'm a sucker for garlic shrimp, so it was an easy yes for me. I ordered the steak and garlic shrimp, and it was great, but I also decided to order the coconut shrimp to try, and oh my god, it was amazing. Maybe the best coconut shrimp I've ever had. I also ordered the garlic fries, which were crispy and very garlicky, which I love. The service was fast and friendly. So glad I stumbled upon this gem and will definitely go back next time I'm on Oahu.

The first time I tried this place the steak was too salty as if the cook seasoned the steak 3x. Today I wanted to give it another try and boy I regret it. The lady that helped us was so nice and welcoming and we got our food under 10 minutes. As soon as I took the first bite of steak I instantly regretted giving this place another try. The steak was so salty and the rice was mushy. I ordered my steak medium but got well done. The only good thing good about the plate was the greens.

7oz steak plate, medium, little too much dressing.

Came here on a weekday after the lunch rush about 2pm. Parking is still crowded in this corner but more parking available on the other side. I got the 7oz steak plate with salad and thousand island dressing. This steak was very delicious! Superrr tender and yummy grilled flavor. Double scoop rice and double salad, ate the whole thing! Only thing was there didn't seem t be any trash can inside where we ate so we walked out to throw it away and the outside trash was super full with similar plates too. Had to walk down to another outside trash can.

From the moment I walked through the doors, I already noticed that the owners must have full confidence in their ability to cook because the ground, seats, AND table was dirty, crusty and filled with sand and grime. Nothing but disappointment fills my heart. My beloved food chain that I remember being filled with love and joy as a kid, being dragged through the mud and butchered in the street. Now let's get onto the food, during the very rare times there wasn't sand in my food, the bites taken were mediocre anyways. When asked for more sauce, we were met with the strange demeanor of the cashier telling us sauces were extra on the bill. The sauces in question were the size of 3 penny's stacked on top of each other. When you are paying $80+ for a meal, I would expect at least more than one sauce for our meals! Horrible experience, would not recommend for families or going alone.

Customer service could have been better. First time there. Asked her if they put the dressing on the toss salad already or if it's separate. Her response, we don't put it on the side unless you tell us. I was like, okay...that's why I asked... Asked for Mac salad for one of the plates. She said we don't have Mac salad and we never did. I was like, did I offend her?? Asked for all my steaks to be med rare. All was cooked thru. One my plates had the dressing on and not on the side. Wilted and soggy. My salmon was overcooked. Ugh.... Is all I can say. I got 4 plates. So disappointed. I paid almost $90.

Very happy with our meal here. Good food and decent portions. I wish there had been a macaroni salad option, but the salad was fresh seeming and all the meat was seasoned well, so no complaints there. The staff was very friendly and helped us with all our questions and pick up.

1st time trying this place and it was just alright. The best thing was the steak. We ordered medium and as you can see it's definitely well done. Even though it wasn't cooked properly the player was good and the steak was soft. The shrimp was cooked well but tasted more salty than anything. The fried noodles tasted like fish. I think it had too much fish cake. The chicken tasted nothing like teriyaki and was kinda dry. We spent over $43 for these 3 items which I think is absurd! Not worth the price for the amount of food in my opinion. We ordered both plates with all rice instead of the toss salad and rice. They did not skimp on the rice, lol. I don't know if I'd go back but if I do I'd order just steak bu the lb if possible.

My wife and I are already fans of Michael Mina, having eaten at several of his other restaurants, one of my favorites being Bourbon Steak in Nashville. Everything here was a wonderful. For our meals we both enjoyed a seafood entree. My Ahi was cooked to perfection. Obviously since this is a Michael Mina restaurant it wasn't inexpensive, but I believe the service and quality of food we got was 100% worth it. The portions are LARGE plenty for 3-4 people to split let alone two. Caesar salad was standard and good from what my mom told me. Edamame- I probably would not order this again. It was fine, but I didn't love the seasoning blend on it personally there are other things I would be interested in trying. Shrimp fried rice- I was really excited to try this and I was really hoping that it would be excellent and it was OK. The shrimp was cooked well and the fried rice just felt like it needed some more butter and it was lacking some of the things that make fried rice, fried rice like a fried egg so overall not my favorite dish. The gluten-free menu was pretty limited on options for me to try so I would probably go to somewhere else to try and get fried rice in the future.

Our experience with Bobby started with private a tasting in their lounge of a few of the things we were hoping to have on our menu. We tried two mains, a salad and a few sides... when I say everything was a smash it, i really mean it! Our package included a third main and we honestly told him he could pick what to bring because obviously he knows how to cook- it'd be impossible to choose! For our wedding we had the kalbi shortribs, garlic shrimp, and huli huli chicken for our mains. Our salad was the one with the warm bacon dressing (OMG DELICIOUS), and we also had truffle mashed potatoes, a ratatouille, rice and i think 3 appetizers. It was ALL so good. Our guests have been raving about it since. Not only was the food to die for, but also the service before and during the wedding too! we had a few dietary restrictions to accommodate and Bobby was so easy to work with and already had ideas ready to go. Then there's the wait staff - who brought my husband and I full plates of everything first, before anyone else. So many people say they don't get to eat at their own weddings and they made sure that DIDNT happen to us. I was still so anxious that I didn't clear my plate but everything i DID eat was just as good as the tasting. The staff stayed and helped my coordinator for the rest of the night as well. After dinner they boxed up all the leftover food for us to take home and I was so happy for that! Since I didn't eat a ton at my own wedding I got to house all of the leftovers with our families.
