And food quality across the restaurant chain is consistent, consistently good. The cube steak is moist and whatever sauce you get is tasty. And the shrimps are decent size and not overcooked where they taste like rubber. They also serve chicken but why get that when their name is Ono steak? The food is decent enough, but I have a serious issue with how they handle phone orders. When you call in, they won't start cooking your food until you pay over the phone first. The whole point of me calling ahead is because I have somewhere to be -- I want to walk in, grab my order, and be out in under a minute. That's impossible when they're holding up the process over payment. I completely understand wanting payment upfront, but if that's the policy, why not set up a secure online ordering system? Giving out my card information over the phone just doesn't feel safe -- especially with all the scams going on these days. First, the service was extremely slow...it took about 15 minutes just for someone to take my order. First off my wife had to give her credit card info over the phone in order to place an order for ONE plate. I was hesitant after looking at the reviews for this place. And you know, the price is not cheap--$34 for just one plate. The shrimp tasted good, the steak was cooked ok kind of oily and salty, but the rice was very mushy and oily. When I mentioned I was going to write a review then she said "sorry about that" I didn't ask for a refund or anything because I was already pissed off and I know it's hard to do business nowadays because of the high prices. So they can keep the charge, but I will never go back here ever again. Took the new Honolulu Skyline from the Stadium to Waipahu to check it out since it's new and free this weekend. We were going to Seafood City but saw Ono Steak & Shrimp 2 and wanted to try it out for lunch. My wife and I shared the 12oz steak & Shrimp and was very happy with our order. The order was really good, the steak was cooked medium as requested and was seasoned perfectly and tender & juicy. The shrimp was really good and just enough for the both of us. The plate lunch came with rice and salad as well and it was enough for two people. Leona helped us out and she was awesome and very friendly and helpful and it was nice to talk story with her. Her husband was doing the cooking and dude was working his tail off. The kitchen was hot and orders kept coming and he kept the food flowing, great job. While the price has increased, the portion size, which is already very low, either stays the same or decreases depending on the person filling your plate.
