    Taste of Onori Set
    Canary H.

I'm shocked I haven't stopped by to try this place before. Hands down best sushi I've had in the past year and unbeatable prices. Parking is plentiful right in front and being seated was a breeze especially before dinner time. When seated, we were served water immediately. The server asked if we intended to drink anything more. We then ordered three large Sapporo beers. We ordered salmon sashimi to start. Then, my fiancé and I ended up ordering the Taste of Onori Menu to share. For $55, we received about 14 items, omokase style: Edamame & Miso Soup Tuna Sashimi (so good as a starter) Albacore Sushi (1 piece) Seared Black Cod Sushi (1 piece) Shima Aji Sushi (1 piece) King Salmon Sushi (1 piece) Toro Handroll Sea bream Sushi (my favorite piece) Halibut Sushi (1 piece) Japanese Yellowtail (1 piece) Hokkaido Scallop (1 piece) Kinme-Dai Sushi (1 piece) Ottoro/Chu-toro (1 piece - phenomenal) Salmon Handroll We weren't full after our shared meal, so we ordered a salmon cut roll. It was one of the best cut rolls I've had and it only had salmon, rice, and seaweed. Food here is magnificent. The servers are quick to take plates away and give more water, if needed. The interior is also very zen and relaxing. It's a beautiful restaurant with fantastic sushi. Again, it was truly amazing sushi and sashimi. I'm delighted to come back again when I have a craving. Truly well done!!

    Nice staff and delicious rolls

I've had sushi in this area before but nothing tasted quite as good as this. Me and my husband stopped here on a whim after doing some shopping and boy are we glad we did so! It was not too long of a wait at all and a great stop overall for us. Every roll was DELICIOUS. Not only was every single thing good that we tried, but there was a more plentiful amount of fish and nori seaweed sheet than I expected in each hand roll. It made the price worth it for me. The spicy tuna lingered on my tongue in the best way possible and was a sensation of good flavor. The Toro was one of my favorite hand rolls too but the salmon and yellowtail were gooood too! Seriously everything we had was delicious! I also really liked the edamame as an appetizer and palette cleanser. Only $3 and very worth it. The salt on the edamame was super flavorful, like a yuzu salt or something. It was delicious. Staff was also attentive. Moki double checked my order and continued to refill my water the whole time we were there. She was super nice and I'm so glad she was helping to serve us because she made our experience extra special. The vibe here is nice and relaxed. The lounge-like music and chill atmosphere really made it a perfect stop for us when we just wanted to enjoy something good to eat together.

Tonight was great. We selected our favorites. Sea Bream, Seared Black Cod sushi. Hand rolls- Spicy scallop, soft shell crab and spicy tuna. The nori is crisp and delicious because the rolls are quickly made & served. There's not a lot of fillers in Onori rolls - just perfect rice and fresh fish. On a Saturday at 5pm, very busy & we chose a table over the bar. Service was a little slow because they were full, every seat. We ordered sake & Sapporo & had no problem because their food is worth the wait. Our server took good care of us. Our rolls & sushi were perfect.

By far the best sushi in town! My friend and I stopped by last week. We were seated as soon as we arrived on Friday at around 1pm and we ordered their specials. She had the Onori Signature Set Menu and I had the Little Onori. The food came out and I was very impressed with the selection. The food was delicious and perfectly timed. I really liked the Tuna Sashimi and the Seabream Sushi. The servers were attentive and explained each item as it came out. Highly recommend because of the food quality, clean environment and welcoming staff!

Ever since it opened, we've already been back multiple times because the food is that good. I've honestly never had hand rolls like these before, they're even better than most regular sushi restaurants. We've tried the shrimp tempura hand roll, blue crab hand roll, and toro hand roll, and every single one was delicious. Their cucumber salad is fresh and flavorful, and the salmon sashimi is a must-have every visit. The restaurant itself is clean, well put together, service is great at the bar and has a nice casual, cozy vibe.

My empty plate. It was so good, I forgot about pictures until after I was done.

I love sushi and that's an understatement. I came to Onori expecting a nice sushi night out and got something completely different. I was welcomed by Chris the owner. The sushi was delivered in stages allowing us to enjoy each phase. It was perfect without extra soy, sauces or anything else to dip into. Just pick up and put it in your mouth and melt in the moment of flavor melting in your mouth.

We were around the area for the murrietta hot springs resort and came here for dinner. We loved our time here! Although the restaurant was packed and there was no more bar seating, the dining table seating was just as great. The food was fresh, the pacing was well spaced out, and the service was up to par despite them being exceptionally busy.

Ever since it's been opened, I got at least once a month! Been wanting an omakase style restaurant in town and happy there finally is one. The quality of the food, service, and ambiance at this place is amazing. Any chance I've gotten, I take people here to eat at. They end up loving it as well! Whenever I go I always get an order of their crispy rice. It's so cute and the crunch of the crispy rice with the freshness of the tuna always hits the spot. Depending how I feel that day, I usually do their omakase sets. The one pictured in the to-go is their Onori signature set. Not picture is the miso soup it also comes with as well. If you wanna get full and worth the money. I say get the omakase set and one of their appetizers. It always fills me up and leaving happy (whether dine in or Togo)! It's in a lot connected to the mall. There is plenty of parking! There is also a somi somi next door for dessert heh.

    Salmon and soda amazing

This place was so clean and nice. Service took a bit to get to but it was worth it once your food arrived. We tried about every hand roll and each were as amazing as the other. I love that they have ice cold beverages no tap soda but Topo Chico soda water which is my favorite. Can't wait to return amazing quality.

For the price you pay, the quality isnt bad. It was surprisingly good. My boyfriend and I decided to go try the handrolls but ended up doing the omakase. We sat at the counter but looks like they don't exactly have sushi chefs manning the counter. There was someone making hand rolls for the whole counter (though it wasn't exactly fully) and then another chef doing the nigiri. The service for counter seating is the same for table. You don't get the nigiri one at a time and it makes sense since there's no sushi chef at the counter. They serve it to you multiple pieces at a time. Some fish quality was better than others in terms of texture or taste/flavor. For the price I'm not surprised but it wasn't terrible. Would recommend if you want a cheap omakase. Would come by to try the handrolls if I'm ever back in the area!

My new favorite sushi spot! So fresh here. Their hand rolls are absolutely amazing! You can even order cut rolls to go as well! Heads up, you can't order hand rolls to go since they believe in the quality, and it would be soggy by the time you are home. If you are into all the added toppings other sushi places have, this isn't your place. I personally love just fresh fish and rice so this is perfect! I also appreciated they had gluten free soy sauce, you just need to ask your server. I love the salmon sushi, spicy tuna hand roll and the blue crab hand roll. Their miso soup is so good too! It can get very crowded during dinner time on the weekends. But during the week is usually great and you can get seated right away. There's bar seating and some tables in the back. Plenty of parking too! Overall their sushi is a must try!

This is one of my dad's fav places. He's been praising the owner and his food for years back at his previous restaurant. I've only eaten Chris's food 2 or 3 times compared to my dad's hundreds, but each of my experiences has been positive and delicious. My dad and I got the Taste of Onori and my mom got the smaller $40 version. Both were phenomenal and a great variety. I ordered some extra handrolls and wagyu nigiri since I'm a glutton. All the sushi was amazing. If there's any minor criticism it's the restaurant is elevated past its appetizers. The miso, sunomono, and gyoza get outclassed by the rest quite starkly. They're perfectly fine for a standard casual Japanese place, but for an elevated tasting menu vibe, they are a bit lacking compared to apps at other Japanese places of this tier. Overall was a great first impression. I live out of state but will return whenever I'm back in Cali.

Oh man this place is AMAZING! I have not had sushi or hand rolls as good anywhere (even Japan!). We live nearby and have been wanting to stop by, esp with the great reviews. We thought it would be more of a fast food/grab and go type place but there is restaurant seating at the bar, or at the back of the restaurant. Beautiful and clean. We sat at a table in the back and were given waters right away, and she took our drink order. We opted for one of the pre set meals, for $40. Great mix of appetizers and main courses. Small portions but made so pretty and fresh. I also ordered a spicy blue crab hand roll and the spicy tuna crispy rice. I think prices are very reasonable, but the hand roll portions are smaller than other places. The quality though of the rice, the seaweed, the ingredients - makes a huge difference in taste and we were loving it all! Sushi was divine, the most fresh and flavorful fish we have had in a long time. I would probably sit at the sushi bar next time to check the vibe there and just order a bunch of hand rolls! Do yourself a favor and check out this restaurant ASAP!

This is coming from someone that has 6years of experience as a waitress, part of that working in a sushi restaurant. The staff was very unkind to my mother for having a gluten allergy. They stated that she cannot have the rice because of having gluten in it?? My mom react to the soy sauce, we have not had a problem with the sushi rice from this location. The tone that the first male server gave was giving "this is an inconvenience" so by stating the rice claim, almost to get us to leave all together. Then he says he will have all the rolls not have any sauce on top which was nice of him to offer. Then we had female waitress, Kelly, who we tried to ask a a question as she was passing. I watched her sit a table, clean a table, place a check before coming back to answer our question. (All I understand) until she walks by our table and pretends not to look at us. So I have to stop her again because one of the roles had a sauce on top. So I asked her if the sauce had gluten in it. Again. (2nd time I asked this question from her passing by twice) she acted as if this was a new question, and was trying to walk away. She assured the sauce does have gluten. So I told her that we already explained to the male sever that we cannot have gluten in the sauces. We kept that roll for the gluten people and order another roll for my mom to eat. She then asks us for another round of tea and brings us a teapot of just hot water.... Overall, I cannot stand when servers make you feel like an inconvenience. The Hana sushi staff by chaparral on Winchester is MUCH FRIENDLIER we are regulars to both locations. After this encounter, we all agreed we will make it a point to only go to the Winchester location as they are very kind and attentive to my mother's allergies.

You cant find sushi as fresh and as tender as they serve here everyday. Every cut, every roll, every slice is portioned generously and is succulently delectable. Tony and his team of chefs here have things down to an art, and a special thanks from me goes out to Kevin! Even without teriyaki sauce the salmon was seasoned and cooked well. The garlic chicken was another story. The chicken texture was off putting as well as the flavor. It had no hint of garlic and was odd slices of chicken with undercooked sliced onions. The miso soup was flavorful but had nothing else in it except two tiny squares of tofu. The salad was just a small, average Japanese salad. The dressing was a little bland. It's a very small little place but it's clean inside. I would recommend it if you are just going to have sushi.
