First time visit for lunch. Place was pretty busy with in house diners and several big pick up orders. Dining room looks like it is straight out of the 60's diner era. Nothing to write home about. We shared the 3 piece fish and chips as I have a pretty small appetite these days. While the fish was tasty, it was very thin. The batter was super crunchy and pretty delicious. The french fries (chips) were horrible, bland and flavorless. After eating fish and chips in the UK, its hard to find a good place in the states. 1st ever visit. It's good, I liked the fried fish. Though it ain't earth shaking good. I make an unfair comparison to the 100's of extraodinary fish and chips plates that I've eaten in the United Kingdom. This one pales. The battered haddock here is moist and tasty. No off aromas. Not too oily. The krinkle cut previously frozen french fries are mediocre. Barely crispy outside and just flavorless mush inside. Really wish the owners would purchase a better brand of fries. Dining room is basic. Dated and well worn. Many gallon boxess of the peanut deep fryer oil is stacked right by the front counter. Place appearance would benefit with input from an interior designer or just someone who likes to clear out clutter. The 3 peices of fish with the fries costs $18.50. Sure, it's cheap eats. But for that small amount of money I can steer you to several local Japanese restaurants where a dellcious & healthier bento box lunch can be had. Normally the food is pretty good, but the most recent time we came it was not. The fish was okay but a little dried out in spots. But the fries were absolutely terrible. It was like the oil was old and they fries were dry and burnt tasting. I'll add photos to better explain. I've never had fries that bad in my life and I'm surprised they allowed them to be sold. I could tell just by looking at them that something was wrong because they were dark and the texture was strange and over-fried. So we're disappointed. I currently give them 3 stars because before this, our experiences were decent. But I'm turned off from returning. read more

It's a little tiny hole in the wall that I've passed over hundreds of times, but now I see why people love it. Friendly and accommodating staff with yummy bites. The fries were fine. They meals were served with cocktail sauce, tartar sauce, and a small cup of vinegar, ketchup in packets. The host cashier delivery woman was busy, very nice. The place was busy inside with 8 tables full. The restaurant is not fancy but if it was they would be charging 2-3 x the price. I thought the price was reasonable. Last I was here was like a year ago and I complained about the high prices and I wouldn't come back unless I got a job that paid a lot more! OK, I got a job that pays a lot more now, so I can afford the $20 lunch bill here for a 3 piece fish and chips order along with a drink. At least the prices haven't gone up further in the last year! The fish and the chips are still the same, very delicious and crispy. I think they use pollock fish. It's hotter than you know what outside, but the AC is working fine inside so that's nice .... till you have to go back outside! Service is all the same, fast and efficient. It came with tartar sauce, cocktail sauce, vinegar, & ketchup packets. Ordering was easy over the phone & customer service was friendly at pick up. Food was packed well. The fish was moist inside & had a crispy batter. The fries were disappointingly meh--bland & too soft. The prawns were perfectly tender. The hush puppies were flavorful with a soft inside and a great crunchy outside, but they were pretty small. The sauces were fine, but I wanted more of a flavor punch, like more horseradish in the cocktail sauce. Well my last review was in 2014 so it's time for an update!!! I am glad to see this family business has survived the pandemic! Still good. Still has hearty portions. They always give you an extra fish when you get anything with fish. I like that everything tastes fresh and not greasy. I always get the fish/shrimp basket. Because it is seafood, you are going to pay a bit more than say Mcdonald's next door. Only thing that changed is that the tartar sauce is no longer in the unlimited squeeze bottle when you dine-in. You get a small cup with your meal and you have to pay extra to get more. Inflation I suppose so if that makes a difference, then I am good with that. read more

Hate to do this, but this place is serving pressed chicken strips, like the kind you'd get inside a chicken McNugget. Not quality at all. The chips are also not the same as they used to be. They're not crinkle, they're now straight and tasteless. They don't salt anything. Ranch didn't even have flavor. Fish is also not normal inside, it's pressed or overly processed. The hushpuppies are ok and that's why they get even one star. To improve please use better quality ingredients and season your food. read more

We came in on at 11:30am on a Tuesday. We ordered the three piece fish and chips to split. The chips are fine. The fish is very thin with tons of breading. Some of the pieces I could hardly taste the fish because of the breading the fish ratio. When you could taste it, there wasn't much flavor and you had to use the vinegar and tartar sauce to put some flavor in your mouth. They were pretty quick with delivering food (under 1 minutes, likely closer to 7 minutes). If you need extra sauce, it costs money. I may come back and try their hush puppies or other foods, but not really impressed with their food. read more

Haven't been here for at least three years. The fish was nicely cooked and I love the tempura batter. It seems like the ownership may have changed since my last visit. The dining room lacked ambiance. Supplies were stored in the public area and there was cheesy Christian music playing that I absolutely hated. Also the condiments were pre-portioned in little serving cups. I would have preferred larger ketchup dispensers and bottles of malt vinegar as I like to soak the fish in that stuff. They delivered a 2 oz cup of tartar which just got thrown in the trash because I don't like tartar at all. It was Just a waste to serve it to me! I will come back but I won't eat inside the dining room as long as that music is playing. Some neutral pop or instrumental music would be a much better choice. read more

Delicious Fish & Chips I don't always come to this side of town unless I need to purchase something at the Oriental store (across the street). This was my first time back at the restaurant since start of Covid. I stopped by for lunch on a weekday and ordered a 2-piece Fish & Chips. When craving for fish & chips this is my go to place. The fish is fresh and hot. The batter is crispy and not greasy. Aaaaand they always give an extra fish so my 2 pieces of fish was actually 3! Sweet! Good tartar sauce too. The "chips" (crinkle fries) are made fresh and crunchy. Overall, delicious. There was nothing fancy about the place, both interior and exterior, but the food remains consistently good and the dining room is kept clean. Service is fast and friendly.
