The science that is put into this coffee is mind blowing. The ambience was amazing. The coffee absolutely amazing.
Onyx is amazing. Perfect coffee. Expertly roasted, creative menu. The early Grey cream and blackberry jam bagel - we loved it. The pastry itself wasn't flaky as I prefer a croissant to be, but the stuffing was absolutely incredible. If it was on a flaky, perfect croissant, I'd probably move to Bentonville, lol. But the espresso and teas are just incredible. Go!
What can you say - it was just voted the #1 coffee house in the WORLD. Amazing to have this gem in our backyard. I most recently visited when my mom was in town. We had a crème brûlée croissant, avocado toast, and a specialty latte (Hail Fellow Well Met for me). It was all delicious! It may have cost more than our lunch later that day, but worth it (and the calories - lol). There's usually a line, but it moves quickly - don't be deterred! And, I've never had a challenge finding a spot to sit and feel like I can linger for a bit.
Last weekend, while in Northwest Arkansas, I stopped by Onyx Coffee in downtown Rogers. Despite the farmers market happening across the street, I managed to find very close parking despite arriving just after 10:00 on Saturday morning. With the aroma of roasting coffee floating through the air and a Saturday morning buzz of excitement, I slid in just before the line grew in length and made it through with coffee in hand in under five minutes. While I normally get the Onyx Delight latte, I decided to change things up this time and get a cup of black coffee. The Peru origin coffee I ordered was warm and smooth. It was definitely a good choice for a summer morning. This was about my fifth visit to this location, and as always, it was worth the drive as it is my favorite stop while in the area.
This is the Onyx Coffee Lab HQ--the place where the roasting magic actually happens. If you visit on roasting days, you can watch the process, which adds a whole new appreciation for the cup in front of you. One of my favorite photos from this visit shows my latte with the roaster in the background--the origin story of my coffee, so to speak. The space itself is beautiful. Plenty of seating if you want to linger with your drink, and lots of natural light pouring in from the skylights. The hanging plants and open layout give it a relaxed, welcoming feel. Great coffee, thoughtful design, and a place that feels just as much about the process as the final cup.
AMAZING coffee shop! I had never been to an Onyx Coffee but figured the HQ building would be the best place to visit while I was in town. It is the perfect downtown location with lots near by. When walking into the building, you are immediately met with beautiful exposed brick walls, high ceilings, and tons of greenery. It is truly the most perfect, charming spot. We were visiting on a holiday weekend, so the line was quite long but it moved quickly. We ordered our coffee, and went and sat in front of the coffee roasting machines while we waited for our drinks. It was so neat to watch the roasting process. The coffee was good! I have had better but have also had a lot worse before. I might just get something different next time, but would definitely go again. If you are in the area, you should absolutely stop in!
Amazing coffees and cafe culture atmosphere! Excellent snacks and merchandise! I especially appreciate the multipack instant decaf packets that I can make at work, in the afternoons, to get the beautiful flavor but not too much caffeine. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Always stopping here when in Arkansas. Best coffee. Best vibes. A little pricey but worth the hype.
This place is so cool. Like a multi-story food and breakfast drink heaven. The vegan breakfast focaccia was amazing - I thought it was going to just be bread, but it was an amazing layered bread, fake egg, vegan sausage, tomato goodness. The people working there had a great vibe and were very friendly and helpful.
I feel like I was one of the last in the area to experience Onyx and upon entering I can see what the hype is about. I was very impressed with the chic atmosphere and the quality of what they serve (some merch available as well). I very much enjoyed the breakfast sandwich. Quality ingredients and the chopped egg gives it a nice unique texture that I feel like is not common to other breakfast sandwiches with similar ingredients. Really tasty. I always have to get a latte when I get the chance so I had that as well. I would say it was very well made, but pretty standard and not flavored (unless I missed additional flavor options...if so, my bad!). It was pretty busy on the day we went. Seems business is booming but you might need to be prepared for a little wait. Really enjoyed it!
The most beautiful coffee shop I've ever been to. It's HUGE; for a second, I thought I stumbled into the Mall of America. These vibes though, very zen, very clean. The onyx delight is my favorite latte running, and I paired it today with a warmed ham and cheese croissant. Deeeeeeelicious, and both came out super fast. There are so many nooks and crannies to curl up in to do some work, read a good book, have a meeting, or just hangout.
all the food is good but the ham and cheese croissant was mostly ham and almost no cheese might as well just call it a meat pocket, espresso was sour like they've never pulled a shot before. Along with a sour shot the only thing I feel like i'm missing out on in their fomo specialty drink was the flavor of coconut.as well as being overpriced, merch is overpriced, 20 for a spoon is absurd not to mention the overall lack of items compared to the online store. almost 40 dollars for two people is crazy. merch selection is mid at best. cashier was nice. the decor and vibe of the building is very nice. you'd think the headquarters would have a full selection of merch and know how to pull a shot. dont come here unless you want to blow money on a sour shot in a nice building
was so thrilled to come here, one of the top roasters on our US list! Baked goods are top tier. Baristas know what they're doing. The flow of coffee shop can be a little confusing at first because there's multiple bar(s)? So to speak. But all good! Legendary to be in such a high quality coffee shop with an amazing reputation. Would love to go back one day. read more

Onyx Coffee Lab is one of my favorite spots for coffee! Their Rogers location is in an old dollar store that they refurbished and they did such a great job! There's ample amount of seating to meet up with your friends, go on a date or work remotely. They roast their own beans and make all their food in house. I ordered a pour over and was well pleased with the Costa Rica. If you're in Northwest Arkansas, then make sure you swing by Onyx for some coffee. You won't be disappointed! read more

We are just moving to the area and have found our go to coffee spot. My wife and I went for a quick breakfast on a Sunday morning and were super impressed. The atmosphere is very very cool. It's got a lot of space to sit and enjoy you food and drink. Lots of open space and light just make the place uber welcoming. I got a flat white to drink. It was perfectly balanced and a smooth drink. My wife got the breakfast sandwich and was very pleased. I got the quiche and WOW!! It was a really great egg filled treat. We split a cinnamon roll and it was really nicely spiced with delicious icing. Our our complaint it that we did not get more ;) We will have to come again. read more

Whoally cow this is some awesome coffee. Ordered online and shipped with ease. The packaging is a bit gaudy but makes for some grand showstopping appeal I ventured out to get some coffee here after trying a cup some family made for me during a visit and it was a great experience. The vibrance was still profound despite being sipped from a paper cup with a plastic lid, but after getting some home, brewing per my usual covfefe ritual, and decanting in to my favorite mug; the experience was as majestic as I imagined during my mindful sampling with fam I don't think I would purchase any covfefe at $60 for 12oz but I am sure it is a spiritual journey that I may have to take if I ever become a lottery winner. Yes; some of the beans are that expensive They have a subscription program that is notable and I should probably join, but the local coffee is not bad here in OK and it is getting better read more
Onyx Coffee is top in their field for coffee roasting! Their HQ location is a flagship and gold standard for any coffee shop. Their motto is "never settle for good enough" and that comes through in the entire experience. The staff is top notch in service and hospitality. The shop itself is full of intentional, well-designed spaces. You can easily meet with small or large groups in this top-notch space. Even if all of this wasn't a factor, their quality of coffee and food comes through above all else. Their menus are creative, offering approachable ways to try the latest thing. I highly recommend visiting this and their other locations in NW Arkansas when you are in the area. In the meantime, order a bag or two of coffee online and elevate your coffee game! read more

I was visiting AR with family who enjoys a good cup of coffee and knew I had to go to the HQ onyx after a trip to the bentonville location. The atmosphere here was breathtaking! It gave me such positive vibes with the plants and friendly staff! It was also the first coffee shop that gave me a pager to pick up my order super sophisticated and convenient! The onyx delight & salt mocha were on point with flavor with the coffee store offering a great variety of beans to purchase for home brewing! read more

Onyx, y'all are fabulous. Sadly, no gluten free options from the lunch/savory menu ): These days? I saw gluten free tacos once on the menu, but they've disappeared. And the gluten free pastries just don't make a healthy lunch. Happy to give that extra star when there's hearty gluten free food we can eat. Cold brew with heavy cream is excellent. Also, before the pandemic, the honey seed bars were great. I'd love to see those return. And the plants are looking beautiful. read more
Northwest Arkansas is putting itself on the map, and Onyx is somewhat single-handedly spearheading the coffee component of Midwest fame. Beyond their impressive digital presence, the physical locations speak for themselves. I found time to visit the flagship in Rogers, and let's just say I wish I could make it a daily routine. The ambience is nothing short of blissful. Warm wood tones create a very Scandinavian borderline Japandi feel, making it cozy without being soft. It's a huge space, with a wide variety of seating, a large area for merchandise, and plants everywhere you look. The mezzanine was unfortunately closed, as I believe it's reserved for classes and trainings, but the ceilings were very high throughout. But it's a coffee shop, right? How's the coffee? Incredible. We ordered a matcha latte, Merry Krampus, and vanilla latte. All were exceptional, and the Merry Krampus was especially unique. It arrived with a mixture of milk, spiced syrup, and smoke, billowing softly through a cookie chimney. You pour in your own espresso and then sip to infinite enjoyment. This is the type of place where I would change "work-from-home" to "work-from-Onyx". It's a pleasant place to do literally anything. Meet friends, read literature, contemplate what makes a good cup of coffee... when the answer is in your hand. read more

So so so hipster and Instagramable BUT with amazing coffee and pastries to back up the hype. ONYX hands down is some of the best coffee I've had in the midwest/southern region of the US. I'm a bit biased because as a central American I am a huge fan of anyone that fucks with Salvadoran coffee beans. They keep their bean selection fresh and interesting. Food and drinks are on the pricier side but worth it. There are several locations in Arkansas, this is probably the best and the biggest as HQ. There's a cool park down the street to walk around. read more

The Onyx HQ in Rogers was excellent and certainly our favorite of their three locations in the area during our stay. I love that they integrate so many things under one roof, and of course the coffee is amazing. We enjoyed so many things here each morning, but our favorites were their cappuccino and sticky buns. We've enjoyed their coffee for a long time at home, but their sticky bun really impressed with it's burnt caramel and toffee flavors and it's vanilla bean icing. Certainly much better than the cardboard roll you pop open and well worth ordering warmed up and drowning with coffee. read more
I am from NWA but now live on the west coast. Onyx is always a must visit place when I'm on a trip back home! Since moving away, it has become apparent that Onyx is well-known all across the country and really puts NWA on the map in the coffee world. Even my favorite coffee shop in Lake Tahoe knows Onyx! I've been to all the other Onyx locations except this one, so of course I had to stop in today. I was blown away at how beautiful this massive space is! The natural light, exposed brick, countless plants, and quiet ambience all work together to make this an elevated coffee shop experience. I got the hot Onyx Delight which I highly recommend, you cannot go wrong with this classic latte that is made with honey, cinnamon, vanilla, espresso, and milk. You get a buzzer after you order and it vibrates when your order is ready to pick up at the counter. My friend and I hung out on the cozy couches and had such a fun time catching up here! There is a lovely patio where you can enjoy your coffee in the sunshine. They even have a shop with some merch and coffee beans that you can purchase. I wish I was able to come here more often so I could try all their drinks, but even from my occasional visits it is clear that this franchise is much more than your typical coffee shop. The staff and owners go above and beyond to make sure each shop provides a quality experience for everyone, especially coffee lovers who live for finding places like this. Until I make it back to Arkansas to visit again, I'll continue hyping up Onyx on the west coast and ordering coffee from their website! read more
My favorite coffee shop in the US. Seriously. The space is beautiful- huge and open with greenery and ample and flexible space for working, sitting and reading, or visiting in a group. Their latte menu in particular is fantastic. Most drinks are available and delicious both hot or iced. I recommend the onyx delight either hot or iced- it uses local Pink House alchemy syrups, so has a cinnamon and honey simple syrup. The salted mocha also delicious hot or iced- not to sweet and not too espresso butter. Almost like biting into a square of salted dark chocolate. The seasonal menu always worth a try. I tried most of the summer 2022 menu featuring peach flavors. The peach latte is great iced- good flavor and not too sweet. Did not enjoy the peach tea with matcha coconut foam- too sweet. Also thought that the peach shake was not that impressive- did not taste the nuance of earl grey tea, so tasted like a basic peach milkshake. read more
Visited for a 3rd time this summer while visiting thr area. I still absolutely love this shop-- the atmosphere is amazing. My lack of 5 stars is still from the latte that when you order a large it is more milk, no more espresso. The size of drink shouldn't change the milk to espresso ratio. Therefore in order to get the proper milk to espresso ratio, you must order the smaller size in order for it to be strong enough and not just taste like milk. We enjoyed the salted mocha and posh tart on our most recent visit as well read more

The Onyx in rogers is much bugger and better than the one in Bentonville. It has an upstairs section (which was closed due to covid) and a little section where you could buy merchandise (shirts, hats, tote bags). We got the lemon lavender pop tart, which was pretty good, not too sweet and the pastry was baked well. The chocolate croissant was pretty big and good as well. The two drinks we got were iced chai latte and iced matcha latte which were okay, they seemed a bit watered down and have definitely had better lattes elsewhere. read more

Aesthetic. Onyx Coffee lab! If you're into the cafe, modern/minimalist vibes this is the spot to go if you're ever in Arkansas. . . The coffee selection is very tailored towards making sure you taste the coffee not to strong but not too subtle. Another highlight for me was that the coffee drinks are not too sweet and you can enjoy the coffee and not just the sugar high rush. . . I tried the Onyx delight and it was DELIGHTFUL. They also have some season drinks which you can see the poggers in picture 2 which I can say is also refreshing, reminds me of drinking an Emergen-c in the morning except it has a dash of Tajin *chef's kiss* . . Another highlight of this place were the macarons! Wowowow! The honey lavender and pistachios were the best. Little pockets of delight, not too sweet, and pairs nicely with an iced cold coffee. read more

Traveled from Dallas just to try this coffee. The iced Pour-over was well worth the price and trip on its own. Also tried the Fomo both hot and iced- it was a great balance of flavor with not being too sweet. Don't miss out on the pastries and sandwiches- we missed out a lot of the selection since we arrived later in the day but the passion fruit macaroon was one of the best I've had. The vibes are 100% on point with multiple seating options and great decor. Folks are friendly and helpful when it comes to navigating the menu and the shop. read more

My family had two great experiences here. We are coffee snobs, I guess you can say. The coffee was amazing. They followed my special instructions perfectly. Due to COVID-19 and a not so amazing Immune system, my son and I hardly go out. This place made me feel safe. There were instructions on the floor of where you should/shouldn't be. They offered hand San at the entrance and masks. Social distance is heavily implemented as well as air filters!! Amazing coffee and quality. Will be back! ohh plus they have amazing merch. read more

If you like trying new coffee flavor profiles, are looking for a new roast or just want to switch things up a little, highly recommend trying Onyx! Hands down, best coffee shop in NWA! Onyx has the reputation it has for a reason.. the space is so trendy and cool and the coffee is top notch. I got the Onyx Delight (half sweet) and it was the perfect fall morning drink. This will definitely be my go-to order now! I also got the Breakfast Sandwich which has always been my go-to food order here. It is amazing! The macaroons were also SO good, highly recommend. We love taking visitors from out of town here, it's always a hit. Highly recommend! read more

Such a gorgeous space, filled with lovely natural light and lots of plants. We were visiting from Portland, OR during the holidays and so there were a few seasonal drinks. I tried the almond nog matcha and it was delicious. We also got a donut to split which was tasty. I liked being able to see the whole coffee production in the back as well. The drinks were a little spendy but their holiday coffee bags made great gifts and were an affordable price. read more
