Happy, happy. My husband and I finally found our Chinese place! We've been looking since we moved to San Antonio 18 months ago. We're originally from CA where there was the greatest Chinese food like everywhere. Not so much in Central Texas until we found Oolongs (by referral). Good prices, plenty of great food and relaxing ambiance. They even serve wine and beer. Now if we can just find an awesome breakfast place without the hour wait. read more

Went here yesterday for the first time and will certainly be back soon. It was very clean, subdued ambiance, friendly and attentive service, food came out quick and reasonably priced. Hard to beat that combination friends! I had the sesame chicken, I do think someone else commented that their version isn't as spicy as others and I agree, but I like it that way. I had the Mongolian Beef with steamed rice and crab rangoon. The food was so rubbery that I had to spit out a lot of it. Also, the meal was almost flavorless. The best thing about it was the steamed rice. read more

Mmmm... Oolong is so delightful! The restaurant is really nice and spacious, very clean, too. The servers are prompt and pleasant and the lunch specials are a really nice price. I love the egg drop soup and I love how the lemon chicken comes with sauce on the side. Too often at Chinese restaurants, the entrees are swimming in sauce. This way, I can use as much as I want (which is about half of what they bring out). The service is always quick and we're in and out within 30 minutes. Fast, cheap, good food is always a great thing to me! Oh, and here's a tip: coming from 1604, turn left at the light right before Sonic. It's much easier to get in that way than pulling an illegal u-turn one light further. read more

The food here is just amazing. I've been back in San Antonio for just over a week and I've been here 3 times already! The hunan shrimp is delicious. The hot and sour soup and crab rangoon is awesome. Tonight, my husband left his wallet on the time. OY! I was so stressed. But there was no reason to worry. They had the wallet and put it away for us to come get. I've been here many times, always clean, with a consistent taste. a dollar more than most plates, but the taste guarantee is worth it.

Clean place with a friendly staff. If you like traditional fried rice, you probably won't like theirs. Kids will because it is pretty plain. The Sesame Chicken is good. The Mongolian beef wasn't great. The WOK wasn't hot enough because the meat was more steamed than stir fried. If you want to try some place different, give it a try. read more

This is my favorite Chinese food restaurant in the San Antonio area. Dining in, the wait staff is attentive and the food is delicious. The restaurant is quiet so it is a great place to enjoy a meal and a conversation. The beef fried rice is excellent and comes with green onion to add to the flavor. Tried this place out for lunch because we live down the road. The service was great and the egg drop soup was really good. The food came out in legit 5 minutes (a little suspicious). It was hot but not much taste. Pretty bland. Tasted like the frozen Chinese food you get from the store. We were pretty disappointed because we love Chinese food. Hubby and I love this place. In fact, we crave it. Friends we have taken there love it, too. Typical Chiense fare (lemon chicken, kung pao chicken, sesame chicken, etc.) but with a little something extra tasty. They have great lunch specials and the portions are hearty so it's a good value for your money. I've tasted many of the items on the menu, all of them good so far. It is close to our house so we tend to get take out quite a bit but the restaurant is also very clean with service that is quick and efficient. read more

I went for lunch since I was in the area. I read the prior reviews so was a bit skeptical. I thought this place was so good!!! The service perfect, the atmosphere is very nice with piano music of current songs playing softly in the background. The food was excellent. I had the kung pao chicken that came with soup & egg roll. Decided to give this place a shot simply because I was in the area. Probably could've thrown $8 in the trash can, and it would've given me something worth more than that poor dish of sesame chicken I just had from this place. It was as if someone ordered what I ordered, then canceled the order and the restaurant kept the plate in hopes someone (me) ordered it again. It's good, standard Chinese food close to church so we like to visit on Sunday. I've never had issue with my food but it kind of bugs me that they don't include soup if you do take-out and most days I'd like to go home and relax to eat my Chinese food, not dine in. read more

Talk about a hidden gem! I have driven by this place time and time again, and never knew it was there. Okay lets talk about the decor. Walking in, the decoration is very nice and tastefully done. The dining and entry areas are very clean and well maintained. Is this a fine dining establishment, the likes of Ruths Chris or Morton's? No, but it's casual and very nice atmosphere. Service: We had excellent service. Our waitress knew the menu and the prices inside and out so she was able to offer us a better deal on our order. She walked by at just the right times to ask us if we wanted refills on our drinks. Food: We ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken, and the Sweet and Sour Shrimp, Crab Rangoons, the egg rolls, and egg drop soup. The soup was extremely flavorful we found. I could not put my spoon down. They gave us plenty of chips (dont know what they are called, the thin chip strips) and complimented the soup nicely. Since we went at lunch, we ordered from the lunch menu. The portion sizes were very good size. My Sweet and Sour Chicken was pretty standard, nothing over and above any other restaurant, but it tasted good and dont have anything negative to say about it. My friend said they really liked Sweet and Sour Shrimp. We both had fried rice which was pretty good. Our eggrolls were delicious. The crab rangoons, while i'm not a fan of them in general, my friend ate 5 out of 6 of them (I had one). The lunch special price was just right too, my meal came to be just under $10. I look forward to coming back here and trying other menu items and seeing if they produce consistent results. read more

Eat there again tonight. We love it! The food is better than good and the best we've had in a long time. The waitstaff and everyone is friendly the place is clean and a joy to be at. Food is nothing out of the ordinary. Actually, pretty disappointing. The little fried strips that you put in the soup tasted as pure grease. The lemon chicken and sweet and sour sauces looked like they pore the most neon food colorings they could fine. The friend chicken and pork were bland and the crispy batter was peeling off. And i spit out a piece of the egg roll because it was nasty. The fried rice didn't have vegetables, and it was bland. Only good thing was the wonton soup. This place is great! The service is stupendous & the food is delish, especially for the price.

I ate her for lunch last Friday and I couldn't even finish my food. On top of that, after I had left, I had the strangest after taste in my mouth for hours. The soup was very salty, the fried rice was a tomato base fried rice, and the sesame chicken is ordered had a decent taste, but it was just strange. The eggroll was ok. It might be good for American but as a Chinese, I would not call this authenic. The interior design looked nice though.

This place did not disappoint. I keep reading reviews and everyone mentions how good the eggdrop soup is and it was honestly the best eggdrop I've had in the area. I had the schezuan chicken. It looked way spicier than it actually tasted. Which isn't a bad thing. I was expecting mind numbingly hot with all those peppers on my plate. The staff was incredibly nice. I really love this place for some fried rice and crab Rangoon. Their pork egg rolls are pretty good too. I can't say if it's authentic because I'm not going to pretend I'm some Chinese food expert, but the fried rice always hits the spot when I get that craving. Plus it heats up well! Horrible experience at Oolong. As I was having lunch, I found a hair in my food. I knew it was not my hair as it was on the bottom of the food and in the sauce. I mentioned it to the waitress and all she said was the owner was not going to address the issue and wanted me to pay the full amount for the lunch plate. I asked to speak to the manager or owner, when the owner came over, she commented that she would take the lunch off my ticket but wanted me to pay for the soup, tea and egg roll which equaled to over $5. I could not believe, she was arguing about this and accusing me of planting the hair in the plate. I will never return to this place again. read more
