Pork belly benedict
Darian C.

Their brunch was pretty good. Not very vegan friendly for my friend but he was able to order off their normal menu when he asked. I got the pork belly benedict and swapped the potatoes for fries which I enjoyed. I think the meat could have been a bit more tender. My friend also got the vietnamese coffee which was pretty good but not as strong as I normally get it.

BBQBB Bun 11/2025

Our first time here and was impressed with the cool open atmosphere and decor upon entering. Our server was fabulous and happily explained the menu and made suggestions, since we were newbies. She suggested the buns were a must since that was where Ming's got started and was well known for. Soo, buns it was. Well worth to get the Happy Hour Trio of buns- chicken, pork belly, and bbq pork $12 Absolutely delicious!!!! Each bun small and mighty, but packed with their individual flavors. We split each bun in half amongst the two of us to sample each flavor. My fave personally was the chicken and least favorite- pork belly, it was a little tough and chewy. For dinner we each ordered warm noodle bowls. These bowls were large, ya could possibly share between two people. Each had freshly portioned ingredients on top. The cilantro lime bowl had a very mild cilantro flavor, but the pork belly chunks were juicy. My sweet potato noodle bowl was not what I had pictured it to look like.. with sweet potato.. I envisioned orange or purple noodles : D our server noted it's the starch of the potato that's used to make the noodle. The added beef had good flavor. Although I enjoyed the fresh ingredients, I found the flavors of the bowl to be bland. Maybe it needed some kind of light curry or something, I added and was charged for tiny cup of chili oil. Great service. The buns shine, bowls were ok.. Military discount offered.

Cucumber Hugo and margarita

I had lunch here on a weekday. It wasn't too busy. They have waiter service. They have inside and outside seating. They did tell me outside seating is dog friendly. I also saw a bar area. Happy hour is from 2 to 7 and all day Monday. I started out with the summer noodle bun and the cucumber Hugo. The Cucumber Hugo was refreshing and pretty strong. The bun had good flavor. For my main meal I got one of their lunch specials. Their lunch specials are not advertised so ask about them. I got the cilantro lime soy noodles with tofu. The lunch specials come with a protein and a drink. When you order your noodles from the menu, you have to add your protein for an extra charge, so this is a good deal. If you get a lunch special, you can get a spring roll for a dollar as well. The noodles were good, but they were kind of dry. A little more sauce would have gone a long way. Everyone was super friendly and our waitress explained everything since it was our first time there. Parking is on site but shared with the other businesses.

Bug in food

I used to love this place! The food is amazing! Until today, received my Uber order, bags closed, everything sealed to find a bug in my food. Talk about disappointing specially when I was starving! Called the restaurant and was told "there wasn't a bug in it when we sealed it up, maybe it was the uber driver"

The food is really good.. the buns and the rice bowls definitely tasty. Their frozen margaritas is also another pretty solid item. Where they lack is the service side. Unfortunately the service tainted the experience overall for me. It was my first time there and I just didn't know a lot of things. For example, asked about fried rice and said they can do it, but it's not on the menu even though they too tried to looking for it. Someone more knowledgeable about the menu, and possibly a little more confidence would've made my experience better because it was frustrating; especially with so many menus lying around on the table that are all different lol. Most menu items have shellfish in it somewhere which sucked as it limits people with shellfish allergies. The food took longer than it should've when it wasn't busy. The manager apologized and at least he acknowledged the longer wait for the food. I will try this place again and hopefully it's a better service experience. But you got try the food! Coconut curry rice bowl so far is my favorite and so far it seems no matter with bun, you'll enjoy.

We discovered Mings through offline and decided to give it a try. We were there during happy hour so we sat at the bar. The entire restaurant had a cool vibe but the bar is a work of art in itself. We ate off of the happy hour menu so we had a variety of steamed buns and an order of dumplings. The steamed buns are so delicious, they are little works of art with wonderful compliments to the meat they are filled with. The light fluffy buns are perfect and the service is great. The custom made craft drinks from the bar are also beautiful and delicious. This place is delicious and delightful.

Really good service, waiter explained menu and was super friendly. The decor in this place is nice and the environment is very clean though looked a little dim under neon lights. Food also looked great, nice presentation absolutely couldn't wait to dig in! However I was a bit disappointed, just couldn't put my finger on it but everything just tastes bland? How could these buns and noodles look so good but lack flavor? Actually found myself not wanting to eat the Sichuan cold noodles after a few forks. The pork belly also lacked flavor and fattiness you'd expect?

Fried Chicken

Came for a weekday dinner date and it was so good! Fast and friendly service, everything was fresh and delicious! We got their crispy dumplings, 4 buns and a chicken bowl to share, and it was perfect! My only complaint was I didn't realize the price of a fountain drink. It seemed really overpriced being $4 when most of the buns were $5. I should have just gotten water and another bun instead! But maybe that's normal these days, I rarely dine in and never get a drink to go. But still highly recommend and look forward to coming back!

We came during happy hour, the drinks were good but I think they need to expand their HH menu. The popper bao was amazingggggggg hands down! Seaweed salad always a hit. I wasn't too impressed with the mushroom potstickers, the filling was very mushy, I wasn't a fan of the texture. The bulgogi rice bowl was mid. I think I'll stick to the Bao buns and their margaritas.

Belly Benedict

We arrived before the lunch rush, sat in the back bar area, with a great view. Nice open area. Really nice decor and love open kitchens. Service was good, and Diala was very informative and personable. We saw Ming herself on the line with her staff! Highly recommend the Vietnamese coffee. Then we started with Bao Buns. Two of each. They were devoured in ten minutes. Great flavors and textures. On to the entrees. Belly Benedict was perfect! Ming's breakfast was on point. Portions are large and prices were very overly comfortable and you can order some items à la carte. Great plate presentation and again, excellent flavors. Can't wait for our next visit!

Great Bartender, ambience and prices on everything. The bar area is small but cozy and they have an outdoor patio tho. Happy Hour drinks are pretty decent not bad at all. If you get hungry all of the sudden or had to much to drink then the bartender can help you by providing you a menu it looks good but can't tell you anything about the food cause we didn't try anything but happy hour drinks. Lol I believe this will be my little hidden gem for now.

Finally decided to give this place a try. Definitely was avoiding because it sounded like an upscale Panda Express. Thought it'd be more authentic but another asian fusion place. It does have happy hour drinks + food. Decided to try old fashioned and margarita. They did accommodate for less sugar but I didn't taste any lychee flavor in the ming's margarita as advertised. The big rock in the old fashioned was neat. food: not great... came in a bowl. Side salad, protein and rice. The other stuff on the menu such as noodles etc, they want you to add a protein. Then the price becomes $$$$. I don't think it's worth the price. Tasted ok... nothing special Waitress was attentive and quick. Checked on us a few times. I'd try this place if you haven't but I'd go to other asian restaurants before coming back here.

Martina G.

The food is awesome. The location is great. Service is awesome as well. Only problem there is the music is way too loud and the kind of music.. Needs improvement on the music choice. Other that that it would be a great place to go...

We didn't realize this place was a cousin of Shiro and owned by the same guy until we saw some similarities in their style, layout and menu but nevertheless, the food was still absolutely amazing. Even though the ambiance had some similarities, I'm glad their food options were distinguished because otherwise could have just gone downtown. You cannot go wrong with any of their food options. Highly recommend doing family style so you can get a taste of everything and all the different flavors. We started with the gyoza and calamari which were to die for and were not greasy at all. Pork ssam, wagyu, miso pasta and octopus all brought a little bit of their own element and flare to your palate that it's hard to describe unless you try it. Wagyu was just melt in your mouth delicious. Pork ssam and octopus had their crunchy texture and umami flavors. The miso pasta added a light refreshing touch to balance everything out but don't let it fool ya, the noodles will expand in your stomach. We topped it off with their yuzu cake. Our only disappointment was they were out of their other desserts but nevertheless everyone of us left full and happy. Would come here again.

When I first read about Yozora, I honestly thought it sounded a bit pretentious. Fascinating, but…read morepretentious. Because the idea of music being an actual integral part of the dining experience--not just some kind of background noise--felt a little precious for my taste. I'm glad to admit I was wrong. So let's start with the ambiance and the vibe of Yozora. It's in a fairly non-descript kind of center; not bad but not specially memorable. But the space itself is open and has an air of restrained sophistication. And then there's that hi-fi set up. The music at Yozora really is part of the experience, but it's not intrusive in the way that you'd think. Most of what my dining companion and I heard was 50s and 60s jazz, and it was perfect for the occasion. Sushi and Coltrane are a great mix, and even though we were not far from the hi-fi system, I could hear every word of our conversation, without the need for either of us to raise a voice. Somehow, it's like the music operates on a different frequency from regular table chatter. Suffice to say, the music enhanced the mood and really set a scene for Yozora's chefs to tell some stories. And that, they do really well. We started out with seasonal tempura and miso masu ceviche--ocean trout marinated in miso, soy, and lime juice--that was sublime. But funnily enough, the real star small plate was a truffle creamy miso soup that was earthy and slightly sweet at the same time and was silky in texture. From there, we ordered a series of crudo and battera, each unique in its own way. It was wonderful stuff, accompanied by a rice lager. The kitchen at Yozora is not shy about experimenting with non-traditional flavors and ingredients. Sometimes it works really well; sometimes, not as well, but it's never bad, and the servers actually ask for feedback for the kitchen, which is something I rarely see. Yozora honestly seems to be most concerned with creating a great dining experience, and it does that, from the chefs to the line cooks to the servers (who are helpful and attentive without hovering). The music, the mood, and the menu add up to a memorable experience.

I ordered the Hakata Ramen and a Dr Pepper (after my friend and I had coffee at Indy next door). The six minute egg is probably my favorite part. No wait, it's the broth. Or is it the noodles? Ugh, it's all great. The egg was delicious. Jammy yolk. The noodles were springy and chewy. The broth was rich and unctuous. The pork was soft and flavorful. Even when I took the leftovers home, it was still fantastic. The steam facial I received provided much relief from my mountain cedar allergies. There will be a huge ramen-bowl shaped hole in my heart and San Antonio's heart once Noodle Tree closes. They have the best ramen in the city and ramen shops have some incredibly large shoes to fill. The service, when we walked up was not as friendly as others have experienced. The glass in front of the warming table was dirty and the chicharrones under the heat lamp looked dry. Fried rice and lo mein are $1.25 extra. At a Chinese takeout. It was insane to pay more for mediocre, HARD fried rice that was absolutely not Puerto Rican-style fried rice. It tasted like it was a day old, it was so hard. If you're selling yourself as Boricua Chinese food then give us the ham, ribs, onion, and lettuce like it should be. That or serve stir-fried rice that's fresh and not old. We ordered the two meat plate; one with pepper steak and ribs, the other with Mongolian beef and chicharron de pollo and the birria eggrolls. The ribs shouldn't be sold. The breading is gummy, not crispy, the meat was dry, and the sauce is over-seasoned with Chinese five spice or some other ungodly spice that overwhelmed the palate. Whatever that anise-five spice situation is needs to be scaled back or eliminated. The amount of spice on the ribs is the complete opposite of PR or NY costillas, spicy instead of sweet and sour. The pepper steak was okay, but you can tell it never touched a wok. The meat lacked that caramelization. I think they should start truly stir frying their meats. The chicharron de pollo was the only menu item that tasted like it was "Puerto Rican," it was well seasoned and the chicken was decent, a little on the dry side. The Mongolian beef was beef with broccoli so that was a wash. They need to ensure they're serving the customers what they ordered or prepare the food the traditional way so there are no surprises. The birria egg rolls were rolled too small, which means the inside of the egg roll was gummy. If they rolled them a little bigger there wouldn't be excess wrapper inside. The consommé it came with has globs of fat floating in it but was decent. I'm bummed because we went hoping to have a new place that would bring a taste of home.
