Phenomenal salon, absolutely gorgeous and tremendous service. Every member of staff was highly talented and did everything they could to make us feel welcome and cared for. A great experience from beginning to end. Our colorist, Frank was an absolute riot: a truly hilarious guy. He made the session truly enjoyable (it flew by) and the work he did on my hair was impeccable. It was my first time getting any color work done since childhood and he guided me through it with untold expertise and patience. Mino Obata, my stylist, is supremely talented. I often have to fight off people I know to score an appointment with him. I always look forward to seeing how I look after visiting - you walk away like a whole new person! read more

Sandy gives the best haircut you can imagine, she has the lightest hand and my hair grows like crazy every time I get a haircut. She's the sweetest person ever, too! Amanda is a terrific colorist, she always makes all my brass go away. I absolutely recommend for anyone to come here, you feel like a queen with that beautiful kimono on, they take such good care of you and everyone just has such an amazing personality and attitude. First time getting a Balayage & I am in love with it! Have been hesitant on getting a Balayage for a very long time and I was due for a haircut bad. Just 3 weeks away from my 30th Birthday and I wanted the best of the best. This Salon did not disappoint! Oon Arvelo Salon's very own Elvin cut my hair beautifully layering it. Best haircut of my life seriously! Elvin took his time and really knows how to cut hair!! I was super pleased not only to be in an inviting Salon where everyone is super friendly and inviting but felt comfortable without being rushed. Chris was also a great pleasure to work with! Victor gave me an absolutely gorgeous and lasting blowout in record time. Upon booking, the receptionist gave me some solid advice of what train to take to get there quickly (I'm from DC) making my commute simple and seamless. A+ to her. When arriving, the elevator doors open to the oasis at the reception desk. I checked in, and was whisked into a dressing room to change into a white robe. Receptionist checked my bags into a closet. A++. Shampoo girl Veronica melted me into relaxed bliss with her shampoo. Hydraulic leg rest on shampoo bowls are unique and interesting- gives the feel of ultimate luxury. Veronica gave me a gorgeous shampoo service with signature Oribe products asking my preferences (2 shampoo's? Conditioner all over?). She delicately slips her hands in all the right places ensuring the ultimate massage and thorough rinsing without a drop of water traveling anywhere it shouldn't be. Kindly dries my neck ears and hair and escorts me over to Victor who is about to blowout my mind. Victor was fantastic. Kind enough to take me as a last minute spot just before closing. Asked how I like it, and I said 'big sexy Texas'. He satisfied my request and then some. Using a fascinating technique of twisting and twirling the hair with his round brush, George blew my Persian Irish bleach lightened hair into several tendrils around my head which he combed into the gorgeous goddessness even Dolly Parton could envy. My Tuesday blowout is still going strong- clean, still lots of curl and bouncy! A+ over the moon. My entire visit start to finish was about 45 minutes and although quick was exceptionally relaxing. I was taken care of my complete professionals who are experts in their crafts. I waltzed out of the beautiful second floor shop reborn. Price point feels like a bargain considering the level of luxury and expertise received during service. (Cringe-worthy Drybar charges a similar rate but will ruin your day and your hair.) First time here at this chic salon and I had an amazing experience. It is by far the only place I've been to that I am completely satisfied with. My cut was done effortlessly by Federico. Peter was very attentive and explained to me why the color I want is hard to achieve on asian hair, but still manages to create exactly what I wanted. Peter really is an artist. After a long summer of letting my hair get too long and too dark - pure laziness on my part - I was desperate to get back to my Frank for color and to Ricky for a serious cut. Amazing what can happen to your whole attitude when you put yourself in the hands of two magicians. Wish I had taken a pre-redo picture but I was a mess and it is discouraging to look at yourself. There is a reason Oon Arvelo is so highly rated-- the salon is wonderful. I went there for the first time a few weeks ago and the receptionists couldn't have been more welcoming and warm. (A very rare NYC salon treat!) I went to Sasha for my highlights because I used to visit her at Oscar Blandi and the girl knows how to do blonde. Like the best blonde highlights you'll ever get. They are such a beautiful warm honey blonde color. I also went to Devin for a haircut and it's probably the best haircut of my life. It styles so effortlessly now and I can go several days without washing. The true test-- a few days after I visited a woman on the street yelled to me, "Honey, you have some great hair! I've known Peter Oon and Elvin Arvelo for years, but hadn't had my hair cut at their gorgeous new salon until last week...and I can't believe it took me so long to finally stop by for a haircut. Devin gave me a beautiful cut that I absolutely love. I have a lot of very fine hair so I struggle with texture a lot, but for some crazy reason, this cut has left my hair feeling thick and voluminous even after I let it air dry. I don't know how she did it, but I'm convinced she's a wizard. Of course I'll be returning because Devin did such a beautiful job, but also because Peter and Elvin are just generally good and kind people. I have been going to Frank Friscioni since 1996 and he is the only person I will let color my hair. I have followed him from salon to salon and last week went to his new salon, Oon Arvelo in Manhattan. Oon Arvelo opened a few months ago and I absolutely loved it. It's a beautiful, modern space, with high end hair products, and a staff that could not have been more welcoming. Both owners came to Frank's station to introduce themselves to me and overall the entire experience felt very personal.
