Stopped by OONA Boba House in Claremont for some bubble tea and it was a really fun, casual spot to grab a drink. They've got a great variety of milk teas, fruit teas, and unique refreshers -- plus lots of topping options to customize your order and snack food options too.

Was working in the area and stopped in for a boba slushie in the afternoon. It's a cute little shop with a decent sized seating area and a few outlets to plug in. The windows face the downtown area so it's a great place to study and get a sweet treat. You can order on the Ipad or at the counter with a person and I chose the counter. I went with a simple passion fruit slushie with boba and it was ready pretty quickly. I enjoyed my slushie in the store whilst scrolling on my phone and it was a nice break. Definitely will try their milk teas next time.

Another hidden gem at the Claremont Village. They just opened last year, and I didn't know about it until a friend told me to try it out. It's a cute boba place. They have a good selection of drinks, snacks and meals. Service was quick, and their prices are reasonable. I had Jasmine green tree (50% sweetened) with crystal boba. I will come back and try other things and give another review, but so far, so good. Worth checking out when in the area.

This boba shop is under new ownership. It used to be called T&Joy. I ordered the oolong milk tea with less ice, brown sugar boba, and 25% sweetness, and the drink was extremely sweet for me. The employee was kind enough to remake my drink for me after I let him know that I prefer my drinks to be less sweet. The boba and milk tea quality wasn't the best, but it will hit the spot. They've received a higher rating from me for their stellar customer service.

I wanted to support local and a new business , so I decided to try this new boba/snack shop. It had great reviews, but I had an inkling they were perhaps written by friends and family. I ordered at a kiosk, so minimal interaction with employees. The lady who handed me my drink seemed friendly. I ordered the 16oz dirty brown sugar milk tea with boba. It was watered down and overly sweet. It didn't have the creamy milk taste or tea taste. The boba was hard and wasn't chewy. Honestly it was too sweet , so I threw it away. I also ordered the 16oz mango black tea with lychee. It was too sweet. I salvaged this by adding ice to it, but it too didn't not taste like tea. Lychee jelly was the standard premade stuff all boba shops have. Limited street parking. Clean from my quick glance around. The previous boba shop at this location was subpar as well. I hope they improve.

Had a craving for ube, so we went to OONA Boba. We started with the popcorn chicken bento boxes for lunch, which were delicious and filling. Had to get the ube latte with boba and a variety of yummy desserts. The ube krinkle cookies are a must!!!

Big pieces of fried tofu and the matcha were yummy. Cravings were satisfied.

First time trying this place. Was happily surprised by the large pieces of fried tofu and the matcha was yummy. Quick and friendly service was appreciated.

French Fries, $4.50 So incredibly delicious, best tasting fries I've ever had.

The boba milk tea I got (Brown Sugar Oat Milk Tea) was amazing! Better than other boba places I've tried so far. The boba was also freshly made and hot. But the drink itself kept its very cool refreshing taste. The cup was also very cute. We also ordered fries and they were the best tasting fries ive ever had. Perfectly seasoned. I usually prefer extremely crispy fries but these were very good with a nice crispy outside and soft inside. The place smelled incredible too. This location doesnt have enough parking for the amount of business this place will and should have. The workers are incredibly kind and professional. For those with gluten/dairy allergies and intolerances Nina takes it extremely seriously and is knowledgeable. She took it more seriously than some dedicated gluten/dairy friendly places I've been. The shop itself was very clean and welcoming. The #1 thing for me personally was the service. You seriously don't receive service this kind and professional anywhere anymore it seems. You can find a lot of places with quick service, with professional service, and with very nice service. But rarely do you find a place like this one that has all 3. I'd certainly recommend this place for boba to anyone within a 30 minute driving radius. It's worth the drive and depending on how much exceptional service matters to you, an even longer drive would still be worth it.

they have really good boba (soft, warm, chewy), deep flavor of matcha, flavorful and crispy popcorn chicken, and the loveliest people who always greet everyone with genuine warmth. they have filipino snacks/desserts and breakfast specials on the weekend. perfect stop before/after the sunday farmers market in claremont that is only one block over. they also have free wi-fi.

I wanted to try somewhere new that's close to the mall and found this place with great reviews…read more It's in a plaza and the inside look really nice and clean. Me and my family decided to try the Thai Tea Crème with boba, Artisan Milk Tea, and Peach Strawberry Fruit Tea. The Thai Tea Crème was delicious and creamy. The boba was soft and chewy. The Peach Strawberry Fruit Tea was refreshing and wasn't super sweet compared to other places I had try. It was perfect. The Artisan Milk Tea was yummy. I definitely would order all these drinks again and would like to try something new too. Even my family loved it! The staff were very friendly and helpful.

Superficial observation: Without seeing a sign that says it's a boba place, when you look in it…read moredoesn't appear like it'd be a place that sells food or beverages. I'm not against minimalism, but IMHO the interior could use a few touches that draw you in from the sidewalk and indicate that there's boba tea and donuts. More seriously: I really dislike giving unflattering reviews for small businesses. In this case, I hope the business sees this and maybe makes improvements. But there were a few issues of cleanliness that had me nervous. And the coffee I ordered took almost 15 mins to come out and had a really unfortunately soapy aftertaste. Cleanliness: Minimalism can be look very chic, but if your chosen aesthetic is white and gold/chrome, you've got to keep it clean. This cafe needs a good deep clean. I was grossed out to see oil and dirt smudges on the backs and seats of the white leather chairs, like no one has wiped them down on a regular basis. The panel molding on the walls looks sleek and clean from far away, but once I sat down I could see a lot of dust. The counter where you pick up your order had a lot of dirt and remnants of spilled beverages at the base. The decor adjacent to the serving area was also really dusty. The chrome garbage bin could contribute to a modern, clean look but it looks grungy and sticky. It's the lack of attention to detail in cleanliness in the front of house that made me worry about what the prep areas might also look like. Beverages: I got an Americano and a mango fruit tea with lychee. The fruit tea was delicious and the lid and straw situation is actually unique and cute. That's where we're getting the two stars from. The Americano coffee on the other hand was really disappointing. For over five dollars, I was hoping for a good quality cup of joe. Despite it not being busy, it took nearly 15 mins before I was handed a coffee in a Christmas cup (it's April so maybe that should've been my sign that they've got Christmas cups bc no one likes the coffee?) that initially tasted ok, but then finished with a really soapy aftertaste. I had 3 different people taste it--everyone agreed it had a dish soap-like aftertaste that spoiled the coffee. Normally, I might ask for a do-over since it was pretty gross. But I didn't have another 10-15 mins to risk getting another soapy coffee. I seriously feel bad calling this place out. I wanted to like it! But at the very least I hope it inspires a deep clean and more care making sure they thoroughly rinse out coffee brewing equipment after washing it. Even if I'd only gotten the yummy mango fruit tea, the cleanliness issues still would've had me distressed. So two stars for now. Sorry!

It's not awful, but it tastes frugal. I arrived at Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) on Sunday (around 12:20PM). Parking is easy. The lot is very big. My immediate impression of the location's interior is "abandoned warehouse." There's cardboard boxes lying about; the lights are dim & gloomy; and the furniture & walls looked old and poorly maintained. There were no customers, other than myself. Staff zipped out from the back when I'd entered. There's no self-service kiosks, so customers order at the counter. Staff is friendly and welcoming. After receiving my drink, Staff vanished into the back for the entire time. The drink took one minute and six seconds. Fast!! As mentioned, the Brown Sugar Milk Tea ($5.50) with Boba (additional 79 cents) is not awful. It's big, cheap, and thirst-quenching. Although the boba lacked any perkiness, I did appreciate its very small sweetness. Concerning the ambiance, it felt sad. Chairs had mysterious black stains, dust & webs gripped the windows' corners, yellow & aged plants lazed about, and lights stayed dimly lit like a haunted house. However, there's utility. Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) has six electrical outlets. There's also customer internet with password; details on the plastic countertop. And there's a restroom for customers. In addition, the floors and tables are fairly clean. Overall, Almond Haus Cafe (Claremont) feels like a forgotten relic of time. At the very minimum, it's an adequate establishment. If you're searching for affordability and a place to study/work, there's potential. 3.3 out of 5

This was one of the most organized events I've been to. To start, the manager arrived around 8:30am to hand out tickets and ensure that there were no line cutters - even though the store didn't open until 12pm. That's super early considering most events don't hand out tickets until 1 hour or less before the start time. Around 11am, the manager came around and gave us drinks if we won a game. Options were tic tac toe, guess the Sunright drink, or boba trivia. I played and got the white peach oolong milk tea in a can, which was really generous. Shortly after, staff came around to take our orders outside the store so that they could begin prepping and shorten the wait time once we went in to pay. I ordered the special anniversary Upland lemon creamsicle drink and got the fragrant oolong milk tea with sunny jelly as my free drink for being the first 150. I also got to spin the wheel for purchasing the lemon creamsicle and got a white mug. The store is big with ample seating to enjoy your drinks and hang out. Nothing would matter if the drinks aren't good, but Sunright delivers consistent quality, and the lemon creamsicle drink was icy and refreshing on a hot day. It really did taste like a creamsicle. I have brought my friends who have never tried before and they also liked it! Sunright is one of my favorite spots and I am sad to see some close down, but happy to be able to still visit this one when I'm passing through. The drinks are always generous and filled to the top (even when you say less ice!) When I ask for less sweet, it's just what hits the spot. If you like smoothies, highly recommend the strawberry frostie (they use real strawberries and it is amazing). I also like the mango frostie - it tastes like a dessert and it includes jelly that is jasmine tea flavored! My previous favorite was the panda milk tea as they have 2 different types of boba and is so creamy and delicious. I like to try their new drinks and then end up with new favorites at the time depending on my mood. My brother in law loves the oreo milk tea with boba. The coffee oolong is also essential if you are a fan of coffee. It's a perfect mix for coffee or tea lovers. 100% highly recommend for everyone to try their drinks - their boba is always the perfect texture even if I have it next day. Their mochi waffles are also very addicting but best eaten fresh and right away while they are warm!
