I took my newly purchased Ninja 300 into the shop to see about resetting raised handlebars and slightly lowered suspension to stock. The mechanic here is a former Kawasaki mechanic and knows these motorcycles very well. He looked at my bike and said handling would be slightly compromised, but that he loved the "rad" look of my 300. He said it would be fine for cruising, my type of riding, so I'm jazzed to say, I will leave it alone. There's more. I just called because I recently noticed there was lot of tension in the throttle twist to the point of fatiguing my puny, old forearm. I was advised the throttle tension could be adjusted and I may do that at some point if I can't adapt to it. Some while back they did a nice job servicing my old Ninja 250. Bottom line, very helpful and knowledgeable here. read more

I bought a new scooter from them that turned out to be a lemon. After 5 or 6 repair attempts they were unable to work with the manufacturer to secure a replacement and unwilling to consider an exchange or trade in. When I complained the manager told me I should be grateful that they provided free towing and had not refused me service. In the end I had to retain an attorney to negotiate a repurchase agreement with the manufacturer. All this happened while the bike was under warranty. Ootys was 100% willing to milk the repairs until the warranty expired and stick me with a $4K loss. Don't go there -- they don't deserve your business. read more

Was told by the mechanic, Ryan, that oil should be changed every 600 miles, for which they would gladly charge me $40 plus an overpriced oil filter for $16. My Honda owner's manual recommends the first oil change at 600 miles and following oil changes at 4000 miles. Other customers of Ooty's have related Ryan's recommendation to change the oil every 600 milles to me. Shop work is poorly done, comes in over estimate, or even halted before it is completed. "I didn't have time" sez Ryan. The only thing he lacks is a corn cob pipe. read more

I am very disappointed with the customer service from Ootys scooter. After I paid it took almost a week for them to deliver my scooter. I called and left messages and no one called me back, I had to keep calling till I was able to reach anyone. I picked out my free helmet but after a month of not hearing from anyone I called and asked for an ETA it turns out they gave away my helmet. I went in to show which one I chose before but I had to choose one I didn't really want because I could only choose from in store. I was told it would be ready for pick up in a week. Two weeks later no word from Ootys. I called and they had put someone else number as mine. So I called Chris and told how very upset I was and here's the kicker HE DIDNT CARE. He didn't care to ask what went wrong, or how to make it up. Worst customer service ever! read more

I recently purchased a Buddy 170i with which I am totally satisfied! (1) They just charge MSRP, tax, and registration - NOT freight & assembly like other motorcycle/scooter shops. (2) They deliver! (....so you can practice in a familiar neighborhood) (3) Helmet included (Now that's nice - you need one anyway). (4) You get a great value for the dollar. (5) A local business - literally a mom & pop type, and they have been around a decade. (6) I don't have to buy another car right now. There are all kinds of car alternatives - and I am glad to add a motor scooter to the list (bicycle, bus, taxi [I don't Uber], rental car, Amtrak, rides from friends/spouse, and now motor scooter). The reason Chris is worth going to (over other good dealers here in the LA area) even though he's over an hour and a half away is because of his passion for scooters. Yes, he's a dealer, and yes he's going to want to make a profit. But you can ask him any question (including his thoughts on competing scoots by other manufacturers that he doesn't carry) and he'll give you a scooterist's (not a dealer out to make a quick buck) perspective. He is also lower in price than other dealers, he rides the bikes he sells so he's telling the truth when he says, "it's a bike I would ride" and he appears to the be only dealer who is a regular and valuable contributor on our Sym Forum. Of course it also helps that he sells one of the best scooters around. I have owned 2 Sym's and may pick up a brand new one (a first for me, as I've only bought used before) from Chris because I love the bike so much. No hesitation with Chris. Well I bought a scooter from Ooty's July of 2015 and have been waiting two years to see how the experience has been before writing this review. Not only did they work with me on payment plans to purchase my Cabo 150 they helped me with any questions I've had with warranty and maint. The whole buying process was hugely satisfying and the overall satisfaction of service is sublime. Every time I asked questions I got a result in the most friendly and efficient way. I had my bike stolen not too long ago and retrieved it back, every part that needed replaced they had right then and there. They even let me put a payment on a part to pay off later. These guys are lagit. Ryan, Ryan and Chris are very considerate of your scooter needs and they will do anything to make you happy. I recently moved and needed a tire and brakes..
