This was hands down, the most horrible massage I have ever had. I asked for as much pressure as he could do, and got almost no pressure at all. It was a tease. I will never go back, unless it was free. My husband and I went for a couples massage and he had the same experience that I did. We left and immediately started looking for another place to go because we didn't feel like we just had a massage at all. I do not recommend this place. read more

I came in to Open Sky last week for a deep tissue massage and was so impressed! Ashley did an amazing job and worked on exactly what I asked. The room was clean and the whole spa had a great relaxing vibe with diffusers and dim lights. The staff was so helpful and Molly at the front desk was able to schedule me in minutes! A group of friends decided that a spa-cation was just what we needed to get through the winter doldrums. I discovered Open Sky on Yelp and we decided to give it a whirl. Left work a wee bit early to arrive late on a Tuesday afternoon to take advantage of their Tuesday special ($55 massages and facials). Wow! Everyone and everything was lovely. Our masseuses and estheticians were knowledge charming and and delightful. The place itself was easy to get to (and parking was a breeze) and relaxing (music, aroma the whole package). I adore this place. I was sucked in by the Groupon last fall and then begged my parents and husband for gift certificates for Christmas and my birthday. I have been to see Brigid and Keith for massage, and both are great. I never have that let down feeling where a massage just didn't live up to my expectations. I always walk out relaxed and happy. Most of the time when I go there it's because I have a massive spasm in my back or tension that is keeping me up at night, and it always gets worked out. I love the atmosphere--this place is unpretentious but incredibly pleasant and relaxing (the lack of pretension adds to its appeal). The staff is wonderful--always so friendly. It's cosy, a little quirky, and unique--not one of those big shiny that's all white and sage green. Everyone seems very knowledgeable and straightforward. I have had 2 massages by Crystal and today had a facial by Holly. The massages by Crystal were literally the best massages I've ever had. Her pressure is perfect, her technique is wonderful and it is clear she enjoys her profession. I plan on continuing to visit her on a regular basis. The facial by Holly was equally as blissful. I felt pampered and she really understood my unique skin issues. My regular aesthetician will be moving soon and I will seriously consider Holly. I also love the vibe of the spa. It's small and feels very welcoming. Everyone is extremely friendly. They diffuse essential oils, which I love and find very refreshing - it's what I expect in a spa experience. Some people have complained about the noise - I barely noticed it. Once in a relaxed state, with the music and the expertise of Crystal and Holly I never heard a single thing. :-) read more

Came in from out of town and was in desperate need of a pedicure. I found April at the open sky day spa and what a treat she is! I got a fantastic pedicure with great conversation and the place really feels like home. When you walk in there are yummy smells of herbal tea and essential oils. The menu of services is broad. Products used are cruelty free and high-quality. The spot is a delightful little oasis with good people running it. read more

This is not exactly a timely review, because I haven't lived in Columbus since March of 2012, but every time I have a subpar experience at a spa, I remember how much I miss Open Sky and think that I should leave them a nice Yelp review. Here it finally is! I have had facials and massages at Open Sky and both were incredibly relaxing, and my skin looked wonderful after the facial. My main issue with most spas is that it seems like no matter what sort of products you use, they try to convince you that if you don't throw it all out and start using the in-house line, you will look like a leather boot by the time you are 40. I dread the part at the end of most facials where the anesthetist tries to guilt you into buying $500 worth of creams and serums and gels. None of that shit at Open Sky. Charlene did not push products on me at all, and when I asked for recommendations to address specific concerns, the products she recommended were reasonably priced and not from the line sold at the spa (meaning she recommended the product she thought would work best for me, not the ones the business would make a profit from). It was such a refreshing change of pace from what I am used to! The whole experience was relaxing and wonderful, and I highly recommend them. read more

I went in for a massage. I had a high expectation towards this place based on other Yelp reviews. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst massage experience I ever had. Pros: -The place is clean with nice ambience and music Cons: -Lady at the front desk named Stephanie was rude and unprofessional. -My massage therapist was nice, but he had major issues. First of all his hands were cold like an ice. He did say before the massage that his hands maybe he cold so he knows about it but apparently does not do anything. Since I was able to tell my muscles were tightening up because of his cold hands, I asked to warm his hands up. His reply was 'Oh, my hands are still cold? Ok, then I will use my forearm.' He used his forearm for maybe 15 seconds and then back on using his icy cold hands again. His techniques were not great either, not enough pressure and it didn't get better after I told him to increase the pressure. After the massage I felt even more stiff and freezing compared to what I was before coming in. I will never go back to this place. read more

I just had my first massage from Bryan who is beyond fabulous. He has this unique ability to go very deep, yet without pain and discomfort. I've had hundreds of massages, but he is by far the best ever. It's hard to describe his touch-you just have to experience it. No one else has loosened up my very tight shoulders and neck like he did. Incredibly therapeutic! read more

I had a massage last week by Bryan. I had been working long hours at work and the stress had my neck and shoulders knotted to the point that they hurt to touch them. He was very careful to work on my knots with just the right amount of pressure. Knowing that my neck and shoulders were sore, he took extra precaution to make sure he was not using too much pressure. As he kept massaging me and working on the kinks, I could feel my neck and shoulders loosen up. As Bryan could feel the tense muscles loosening up, then he applied a little more pressure and then a little more. By the end of the massage, I was so relaxed I could hardly keep my eyes open. I would highly recommend Bryan - he knows his stuff and gives a fantastic massage :) read more

For the price, pretty good. Something odd is that they don't play normal spa music in the room, like nature and classical stuff. It was like a calm electronic type music. Still relaxing, but could be distracting if you aren't into that kinda thing. We got a couples massage and it was on time and all that. We just have a better place in mind from our last town that were trying to beat those standards which include awesome locker rooms, facilities and such. read more

I treated myself to the Perfect Trifecta - Massage, facial and pedicure. First impression: the soothing music, the cozy dim-lit rooms, and subtle aroma was alluring. The staff members were pleasant and accommodating, most important, they were skillful in their respective technique! I fell asleep during my massage, a cluster of blackheads were removed during my facial (I've been struggling with it for months), and now my feet feel like silk from the pedicure. This being my first time receiving a facial and a massage, I was a little nervous. But the staff at Open Sky made me feel right at home and at ease. The facial with Charlene was A-MAZ-ING. In fact, I'm planning on going in for a facial once a month now. It's been 3 days since my appointment and my face is still glowing and super soft. She also recommended a facial cleanser that I absolutely love! Crystal did a fantastic job with my massage! Again, I was completely relaxed and put at ease by her wonderful personality. The massage itself was heavenly. Apparently, I carry a lot of tension in my shoulders, but I felt like a million bucks after and still do. And that pain I've had in my lower neck is gone! Thank you, Crystal! And the lady at the front desk was warm and welcoming, as well. I definitely recommend this place. The only reason I gave one star is because Yelp made me. It was a HORRIBLE experience. At first I was very excited try a new spa for waxing. I loved the location of this spa in Grandview, Ohio. When I walked in, I was greeted with smile and I thought to myself, "this is going to be great!' However, the esthetician burned my face severly!! MY FACE WAS SORE AND BURNT FOR ABOUT 4 DAYS. After that, as burns do, my skin peeled. I would NEVER recommend this spa to anyone, and I will not return. A person goes to a spa to receive a beauty treatment, not to get their face burned and feel ugly. read more

I had rarely had massage services in the past. While working one day, I was approached by Heidi, who told me she was a massage therapist and could tell I was in serious pain from observing how I was carrying myself. She was right, I had spent the prior year leading up to this chance encounter trying to manage incapacitating flares of tendinitis, peppered with intense upper body pain that would move from one area to another. I was so skeptical that anyone or thing could change my lot, I had accepted that this was my new norm. I was so impressed by her observations and her caring demeanor that I decided to give massage therapy a try. This was my first trip to Open Sky and my first massage in a very long time. I had such a good experience that I think I will try to make this happen more often from now on. I was in pain in my shoulders and neck, I sit at a computer all day and had some nasty knots in my muscles. I called mid morning because they were close to my work and affordable. They got me in the same day at lunch time for a 30 minute massage with Jevona. It's right on Fifth Avenue in Grandview in a really adorable little building by Noodles and Company. When I met Jevona she asked me if I had anything specific I'd like to work on , and we talked about my shoulders/neck. I felt like she really dug into the knots without hurting me and it was so helpful and relaxing. I really loved the head/scalp massage too. My goal was helping my neck and shoulders feel better, but it was such a boost for my overall mood today - thanks Open Sky ! read more

I went into Open Day a couple days ago for a massage with Casey. Let me just say, this was hands down the BEST massage I've ever gotten! I went in with a stiff back and neck and left feeling like a new refreshed person! I can't rave enough about this place and Casey. First, she massaged me for the full 60 minutes + a little extra, which is awesome since I've experienced at a few places, they will cut your time off 5 or 10 minutes early. Second, she is really good at targeting your body's tension and getting all the knots out, and third, she can give good firm massages (I'm sure she adjusts to each person's preference, of course). I mean, it's all relative to what each individual enjoys, but I definitely love deep massages and so was very happy with mine. I love massages and had checked around a few other places since moving to Ohio several months ago but had not found a place I fell in love with yet. After this massage, I'm done looking. Open Day Spa and Casey are my go-to. read more
