I had a really nice experience here. I had a 90 minute enhanced facial and a lip treatment. It was very relaxing and my esthetician was very thorough, professional and nice. I found myself snoozing a few times. As others said, it's no frills, but it's a very nice spa, a soothing environment and I find the prices to be reasonable. They have a special on Tuesdays for a few treatments. Might be nice to treat yoself to an early week massage! I'll be back in a few weeks for a derma-planing Appointment. I have back pain/spasms from extremely tight muscles and require deep tissue work-- Open sky day spa is the best place in Columbus for this. I highly recommend Laurie and have been going to her for quite a while now. She is a true professional and a great person! She is very knowledgeable about the body and custom tailors her massages to fit your needs- whether it's some stretching or focusing on target areas. Warning: once you try the Ashi style massage, you won't want to do anything else but you can't go wrong either way! Definitely give it a shot at least once as it is a completely different experience. My mom and I visited Open Sky upon receiving gift certificates for facials. This was my mom's first facial. She said it was relaxing, and her skin felt and looked great afterwards. While waiting for her, the receptionist was very friendly and offered me drinks and the wifi password. I think it's important for a spa to feel like home and Open Sky definitely achieved that. My appointment was on a different day. An appointment I had before that ran late and I called the spa twenty minutes after my scheduled time. They told me to still head over and got me in for my facial. Most places cannot accept last minute cancellations/reservations, but they were beyond nice about it. Charlene was nice, knowledgable, and focused on my problem areas. She made the process so easy and discussed products and skin care with me. She asked for feedback about every technique and even the music that was playing. She made suggestions, but was not pushy. She did not ask me to schedule in the future either. After reading great reviews about their massages, I decided to get my legs waxed here. Aside from a friendly esthetician, the entire experience was bad. I regularly visit a different spa for both waxing and massage but since they were booked, I decided to give Open Sky a chance. I regret it. I had an appointment after dark, and had trouble finding the building. The area is not well-lit so it didn't feel very safe either. The spa is in what I assume is an old office building, which I suppose has a bit of a modern appeal to it, except that the floors aren't finished. It's a little hard to relax in a room with concrete flooring, it feels very industrial. But let's talk about the "waxing", which was a joke. The reason I opted for a wax was so that I didn't have to shave my legs while on vacation. Wax, as I'm sure you know, is meant to pull the hairs OUT, like from the follicle. I'm no stranger to having waxings done, from eyebrows to Brazilians. However, this waxing gave the exact effect as shaving- it essentially just took some hairs off (but not OUT) so I left the spa feeling like I had stubble on my legs. I thought maybe I just had some irritation, but no. Fast forward to the next day and I have visible, tactile hairs all over my legs. Not only that, there are areas that still have all of the hair, mostly on my knees. My mantra lately has been "I should have just shaved." I didn't even get a single day with smooth legs, and the hair grew back just like it would after shaving- quickly. However, my legs are still very irritated so I don't even think I CAN shave at this point. Bottom line: A waste of time and money. Get waxed somewhere else, where the hairs actually come out like they're supposed to. read more

This place is great! I'd never had a massage before, so I was a little nervous. I had heard great things about OSDS, though, so I decided to give it a shot because my body had just been hurting. I scheduled via email, and the process was very easy and I got a quick response. For my massage, I saw Tonia, and she was fantastic. She was very reassuring and encouraging about open communication. Her personality was great, and I went from anxious to totally comfortable! I felt amazing after I left, and the results have continued into the following days. I would recommend her to anyone! I totally would have given this place a 5 star review. HOWEVER, I think their organizational skills need a little help from my experience and reading prior reviews. I scheduled a massage for my boyfriend for his birthday. I emailed the spa back and forth, everything was all set. I asked how I should pay- over the phone or do I need to come in? Molly, I believe it was, told me it was fine over the phone. I called, paid, left gratuity- and was emailed a receipt. A few days later my boyfriend goes in for his massage AND THEY MAKE HIM PAY FOR IT stating that "there's no record of payment on file." He said that was weird and that his girlfriend must have paid because it was his birthday gift. They said, nope. No payment. Could you not have checked the emails we had exchanged? I find it unprofessional to not keep track of that, and then make him pay for it on his birthday after I went out of my way to make prior arrangements. Luckily I had the receipt, but now he needs to go through the hassle of getting a refund, when it was supposed to be a nice relaxing treat. I try so hard to support local businesses, but when something like this happens, it just makes me think "should have gone to Massage Envy." read more

My boyfriend and I started our baby moon weekend at the spa after reading awesome reviews. We drove from Dayton and made an appt for a couples massage and couples facial. I'm 8 months pregnant and they accommodated us awesomely! On the outside looking in you don't know what to expect since it's in an industrial/residential area. Great ambiance walking in and throughout. Reception was a little strange- no hi and welcome. Almost like here's the paperwork. There was an absence of "they'll be right with you" "would you like some water". I felt like we had walked into a staff meeting and we were interrupting. Once we were greeted in the back it was awesome. My masseuse Meg was awesome! She had an amazing sense of humor, hit points I didn't even know where bothering me and made me feel really relaxed which is hard to do. I definitely will come back to see her! My boyfriend had a hot stone and was snoring with in the first 10 minutes so I assume he had a great experience too. The facial was okay. Sarah has very sweet. She has very light hands and it was easy to fall asleep. The only issues I had involved the products used. I was sleeping for most of the time but I wish that the products had been explained to me prior to starting. I had to get a hot towel to wipe up all the excess oil that was placed on my face. The price was great bar none for the quality of service. I would have paid twice as much. Overall I would recommend. read more

The girl told me no matter what they were going to charge me for not canceling?! Talk about someone who only wants your money. I am sorry it took SOOOOOOOOOOOO long to write a review! I loved my experience here! I whisked my husband away from work and surprised him for our 4 year anniversary with a couples massage and foot scrub package. This wonderful place had the best price and I really think the money was well spent. He was totally against the whole idea once we pulled up to the place. I told him I'd scheduled him a dentist appointment. We have never had professional massages before so we really did not know what to expect, really. The massage therapists were amazing, they asked so many questions in order to tailor the experience for us. We were even able to play our own Pandora station! My husband LOVED it so much, he was asleep in minutes, hahaha. It was a ver pleasant experience and I realized that I have alot of issues with my neck and back...due to the nature of my work. I think I will schedule a 1/2 day from work and sneak off for my own massage soon! Also, the front desk personnel are so amazing. They are not sarcastic when answering dumb questions, send courtesy emails and are clear about the terms of cancellation. Crystal was very professional and not chatty at all, which I definitely appreciate! The major problems I had with this place was the noisy busy road it sits on, and how bright the room was. The passing traffic was very distracting and there were two large windows in the room. We had a fantastic experience at Open Sky Day Spa. To celebrate my upcoming nuptials, my mother and I booked a package for both of us to receive a facial, massage, and foot scrub. The two technicians were fantastic; professional and very well skilled. Great massage and facial; although I can't really comment on the foot scrub as by that point I was so relaxed, I fell asleep. For my 40th birthday my husband bought me, my sister and my niece the hour massage and hour facial package. This was the first massage for me and my niece and the first facial for all of us. The hubs and I were looking to make a last minute appt for a couple's massage and Open Sky had an opening! Easy on street parking on a Sunday. The receptionist was friendly, minimal decor in lobby. (It doesn't have that fancy spa feel which I do prefer). Amy and Laurie were wonderful! They played great music and made us feel very comfortable. Beds were comfy and warm, clean quiet environment. My husband has really bad lower back pain and Laurie took care of it! I wanted relaxation with strong pressure and Amy delivered. Overall it was a great experience and worth trying a new place that can handle couples massages with last minute bookings! I was dropped off at the spa on my birthday under the visage of hop in the car and don't worry. She was going to drop me off somewhere, and come back. Since she didn't tell me to bring golf clubs, I assumed a massage, but my girlfriend is a former massage therapist, so I doubted that. I got the HIS facial. Never had one before, never thought of needing one. I felt bad that my product list consisted of my go-to shampoo and dove body bar on my body and face. Deborah (only specific days), who did my facial, seemed to appreciate the fact I didn't know where I was supposed to be 10 (okay 20--there was paperwork) min ago. She was easy to talk to. Laid it out I am going to do x,y,z. Made it seem like something I have done all the time. See my above beauty regimen. I have "good" skin naturally, but even I noticed a difference in my face afterwards. I wasn't expecting that. It was relaxing with less-massage than I wished for, and more face-beauty specific and I guess they know what they do. They aren't going to hook me for coming in, but for getting a gift for a service I have never had performed, "I can see why there is a market for that, even for guys" is about the greatest compliment this non-beauty obsessed guy can give. If nothing else they've got me on the hook to reciprocate the gift because they will do a good job. I only give it 4 stars because I have no frame of reference of experiences, prices, so forth. And I think the skeptic meter hits too high on 5 star reviews. But, they will get me giving gift certificate/service in return to my girlfriend and eased her apprehension of a risky, random gift with my report back to her of how it went. read more
