OMG! I have never been in an environment where I felt more like than at Operation Kindness located at 1771 Terre Colony Court, Dalllas TX 75212. I was there to get my fur baby spayed in a little emotional. The work that these people do is a ministry to pets! Thank you so much for making Sushi Kai and I feel so comfortable and loved!

Great organization and they do great things for the community! I came here to volunteer through work and I learned more than I ever knew about them... While they do adopt dogs and cats that they have rescued in partnership with local municipal shelters, they also run an operation where they try to prevent people from having to surrender their pets over throngs like financial reason and behavioral issues etc. these folks can and are willing to help!

We picked up our adorable puppy (now named Kismet) here and couldn't be happier. The dogs are well cared for and the volunteers provide so much help and care to help you feel supported. As a first time dog owner it was very very daunting. I appreciated how volunteers walked me through how much work it is to have a puppy and made sure I came away with the right decision. Our family is so happy with this new member! I also helped my friend adopt her dog here. Would highly recommend. Some awesome bonus reasons are: 1) the packet you get includes really helpful instructions and tips for first time dog owners. They also included a neat 25% off first time coupon and a list of vets that are partnered with them. In the first two weeks, if the pup is sick, you can bring him/her back to receive treatment. I felt like we weren't jumping off the deep end but felt guided each step. 2) facility is very clean and they have a dog mannerism tags on each cage so you know how mannered they are 3) I loved the advice the volunteers gave. They were wonderful and helpful. At one point a volunteer was reminding us how huge of a responsibility a pup was. It's true -- they want to make sure YOU'RE prepared and the pup is going to a loving home as well. Would recommend if you see a dog you want, GET IT. They rotate very quickly! Within half an afternoon one of the sought out dogs was adopted very quickly when I was helping my friend adopt hers.

I volunteered there today and it was so much fun and such an amazing experience. The staff is so friendly and very caring for the animals. They have very specific guidelines and their cats and dog areas are fully stocked. They have a great routine for the pets. You can foster donate or adopt from there.

This is Scout aka Scott. What a sweetheart this guys is he had me at "meow ".

Our new fur baby from Operation Kindness!

Two years ago, our beloved fur baby passed away. Any pet lover knows how difficult this is to experience. It was especially hard on my husband because Jackson was his buddy. After a few years, we finally decided to give love to a new fur baby. I am a firm believer in adopting from shelters instead of buying from breeders. We didn't need a fancy breed, just one that needs a good home. I did a lot of research online of the various shelters. Profile after profile, I just didn't have that FEELING- the one in which you just know it would be a good fit. That is, until I logged onto the Operation Kindness website after many times and seeing a new doggie named Snowball. Her eyes in her photo just spoke to me. I promptly called and found that she was still available, so after work I headed over to meet her. The shelter was packed, which I loved seeing because that meant babies were finding homes for Christmas! The employees at the front desk were super friendly and while I filled out some paper work, she went to get Snowball so we could meet. Since it was so busy in the lobby, the gal took Snowball out and I followed. Now, Jackson was a trusting dog. Snowball, not so much. She came to me when I sat on the ground but she was weary of me, for sure. I felt sad, because I wanted to make sure we both liked each other. I gave her some treats and she warmed up some, but not much. That just made me more determined for her to love us. Ok, little doggy, you are getting a forever home! The employee and I sat down in the office and completed the paperwork and all information was given to me about her health. She was fighting a UTI and upper respiratory infection and was on antibiotics, and I assured the employee that I was absolutely fine with this. Off we went to her new home! I called my husband on the way home- he had no idea I was bringing home a pet that evening- and asked if he was ready to meet his new daughter. He was so thrilled! It has now been a month and a half since she came to live with us. She has completely opened up to us and her little personality is shining through her fear. We have renamed her Verda Belle and she is loving being totally spoiled, which she so deserves! Thank you, Operation Kindness, for rescuing her from the animal shelter right before they were going to put her down. She has brought so much joy to our lives!

After meeting up with Yvette I was given 8 hours to make my decision. I asked if I could see Nachos vet records with no reply. That was already a red flag. I took a day to think and I was ready to adopt. Yvette said he was no longer available, however he remained on the website. When I mentioned this she did not respond. I showed up to the adoption event the next week and there he was!! I feel if they truly cared about the animals they would be accommodating and work harder to rehome. Overall, I believe Lost Paws is running a sketchy business. The whole interaction with Yvette was very off putting. I've been…read morean independent street rescuer for a couple of years, and I can't tell you the number of times I called and emailed dozens of rescue groups around the D/FW Metroplex to ask for assistance in placing a rescued street dog into a foster home. I myself lived in a one-bedroom apartment with my husband and our own 2 dogs at the time (we now live in a house with a fenced yard), so we weren't in a position to foster ourselves. Unfortunately, the vast majority never even bothered to respond to emails, let alone offer assistance. I didn't expect them to jump through hoops to help me, knowing how overwhelmed the rescue community is, but I was hoping for at least some assistance in finding someone who could help us locate a rescue group with room to spare. Referrals, assistance with finding a low-cost vet -- ANYTHING. Even a simple "Sorry, but we can't help you" email would have sufficed. TMHPR is one of the very, very rare few that not only responds to its many, many emails and phone calls, but they also go out of their way to help a sincere rescuer find help. They don't always have the answer, but they work hard to help those who truly want to make a difference. I've since become a volunteer and have helped them redesign their website, launch and maintain an email marketing campaign, and work on fundraising. Even though I live pretty far from their adoption center, I don't mind the commute at all -- not only am I working on a cause I'm truly passionate about, I'm also working with one of the best-run organizations in town. Definitely recommended to anyone looking to add to their family or simply wanting to volunteer!

She ran away from home and ended up in the shelter for about a week. Because of whatever policies Plano has, they spayed her. Bella was 11, and it is incredibly high-risk to alter dogs at that age. Because of that decision, a few weeks later, Bella developed cancer. We took her to the vet to get checked out, and they told us how much the cancer treatment would cost. They also confirmed that when you spay older dogs like this, they are at a very high risk of developing cancer. Ultimately, she died. I had to put her down because she was in so much pain. Mark my words, Plano Animal Services, karma will come for you. May Bella rest in peace. I will never forgive y'all. Bella was healthy. She was my childhood dog, and I had her ever since I was almost 7 years old. Now, I am crossing the stage for my high school graduation today without her here--she is just watching over me instead.

This is long but please read this if you're thinking of surrendering ANY dog to this shelter…read more I'd rate this place negative 5 stars if I could. These guys have zero remorse or empathy. I surrendered my dog Praedyth on December 2nd after an apartment I was going to live in said they don't allow large breed dogs. The absolute fool I was I decided to give him up to this shelter thinking he'd adjust and be able to be adopted. Well, after just 2 days I called them on the status of his adoption and he was already deemed unadoptable! 2 days! He's never been in a shelter and was always free to roam the inside of the house and out! He has dogs around him Barking making him on edge of course he won't adjust or pass their test after this short amount of time. So after a whole 2 hour conversation my mom decided he can stay at her home. I cannot describe the joy I felt at this point. I was going to save my baby. I called them to let them know we can care for him. He can come to where he's comfortable and loved until I find an apartment that allows large dogs... Guess what their response to all this was? "NOPE! He's too dangerous we're gonna euthanize him anyway." Are you kidding me? You're going to kill him because he isn't use to being in a shelter surrounded by death and FILLED with anxiety? This is no monster. He's no menace to society. He's scared and for good reason: YOURE GOING TO KILL HIM! I got in touch with the director and he did not care for anything I had to say. This is a man who probably put down so many dogs he's numb to it, you can hear it in his voice. This is a business not a daycare for dogs and I get that but Jesus man have mercy on my boy. He saved my life when I attempted suicide. He sat on my chest and screamed so loud the neighbors heard and called the police. I would not be here if this "menace" didn't save me. He said on the phone that me and my mom would have to sign a liability waiver and said if he bites someone it's going to be automatically a FELONY for both of us. He also said we'd have to get a prepaid training receipt for aggression training. When I walk him on the Arbor Hills nature preserve trail he is not aggressive to other people and never has been. He has gotten loose twice and has never bit anyone. He even let someone knock on our door right next him to let us know he's outside trying to get back in. And the last and absolute worse is that he stated he needs to talk to my mother's landlord letting him know the dog is aggressive? He knows how that conversation would go. That goes for any landlord because then they'd have to get insurance that covers attack breeds or aggressive dogs. What landlord is going to walk out of that conversation saying "yes they can stay". Infact the director knew this so much that he said DONT do anything else until he talks to the landlord. Why? Because it would be a waste of effort. My dog is doomed. I should not have brought him to this shelter. He's 5 years old and would have spent his last 5 years being loved and cared for had I not brought him to this shelter and went with a rescue group. If you bring your dog here expecting them to be rehomed, don't bother. Either they'll fit right into the shelter and get adopted (hopefully) OR they'll be terrified of this place and be put down. No inbetween. They won't even let him lay on my lap one last time UPDATE: after finding a home of someone who is more than willing to take him AND is their own landlord the director himself shot the idea down. Effectively killing my dog. Again, this is not the actions of someone who has the animals well-being in mind and should be removed from his position. Any other shelter would have worked with me to bring him home but I brought him to the one shelter in Texas that prefers killing than saving. Do not bring your animals here. This is just a pound, not a shelter.
