Spicy Korean Chicken and French Fries with Kimchi Ranch

I thought Oppa was pretty decent and it's been cool to see the Korean inspired food scene pick up here. I got the spicy Korean chicken and fries with kimchi ranch. I thought the chicken was fried well, but the spice levels can go higher and it didn't really taste that spicy to me. I was recommended the Kimchi Ranch as a dipping sauce for the fries, but I found it all right. Service though is fast and it's great they have different set menus and options!

OPPA has a fan for life. It took me a while to finally catch the pop-up out in the wild at the NOLA night market in Westwego. I was so glad when I finally sampled their chicken! It's so delicious, crunchy and saucy. The flavor is just right. Phi the owner is awesome as well. Super hardworking and really loves what he does. You can taste the love in the chicken! I can't wait for them to open up their storefront.

Tried Oppa Korean Fried Chicken. It was honestly really good. We got the Kombo #5 which is 5 tenders fries and large drink, added 1 tender, and upgraded our meal $5 more to get the bulgogi fries instead of plain. We tried three different flavors for our tenders: Honey Lemon Pepper (me and my boyfriends FAV), Spicy Korean (wasn't really spicy nor flavorful to us), and Hot Honey Glaze (tastes as expected really). Next time we'd go back for the Honey Lemon Pepper and try the other flavors they had. My boyfriend said the Bulgogi fries were amazinggggg and honestly a meal in it of itself. Staff were SUPER helpful and accommodating (3 flavors 6 tenders) and I can only assume the owner or manger told us about the $5 up charge to get the Bulgogi fries instead of paying an extra $10 something to get it. We also only spent $28 for everything and were stuffed for hours after! 9/10 Will definitely be back

Love love love these soy garlic wings. I decided to check out their pop up when they were outside of wishing town bakery a few months ago. I also ended up getting the kimchi fries. Everything was so good! I could finish all of my wings and had some left over for the next day. I think the best thing about these wings is that when you reheat them they still tasted great! I can't wait for them to open their restaurant !

I had high hopes for Oppa KFC but it falls flat of being truly great. Their menu is very simple which is usually a good thing, but the flavors aren't that great. We got the family plan, which gives an opportunity to have one of each of the flavors. This also comes with four drinks and one of each of their fries (bulgogi and regular). The fries were very soggy and needed to be cooked a little longer. Fries pretty generic. Since the flavors aren't anything special, I would have much gather have a plain version with Korean spices similar to what you get at other KFC establishments like k.bbq. The amount of Daikon given is laughable. A tiny little cup of daikon. For the price it isn't worth it. Store is very small as it has taken over the store front that Wishing Town was in. There's a little bit of seating but not too much. I'm sad. I wanted this place to be good but it is just not that good. Would I eat here again? Maybe. But I would have to be pretty desperate.

Even though the place was busy it did not take very long for us to get our to-go order. The place is small with few tables inside and a couple of tables outside. Our order was the Double Kombo, as recommended by the friendly cashier, which included 12 pieces of wings, 2 fountain drinks, 2 daikon, 2 sauces and fries. Instead of regular fries we added the Bulgogi fries. Unfortunately, they forgot to double on the daikon and the sauce. We did half of our wings in Spicy Korean and the other half in Honey Garlic. The Spicy Korean is not spicy and the Honey Garlic did not have much of a garlic taste. The flavors were not bold but I did like the texture of the batter they use. We did not use the sauce because it didn't add any additional flavor to our food and I am not sure of what the intended flavor is supposed to be because I can not describe it as sweet or spicy, perhaps more of a mayo, mustard and ketchup mix. The Bulgogi fries were a good portion and is topped with meat, green onions and cheese and is what we enjoyed mpre than the wings.

Went on a Monday evening... it was empty! (always pay attention to that) we bought the 12 piece family combo that came with a large fry and 2 fountain drinks.... (get bottled drinks instead) The fries were perfectly salted and it reminded me of a non-greasy McDonald's fry. The kimchi ranch had great flavor (we even bought two more), but the Oppa sauce doesn't taste like much. When our wings came out the honey lemon pepper ones had a long black hair right on top of a drumstick.....they "remade"it & added an extra wing! The second batch of wings came out smaller than the others & almost too crunchy. My mom said the kimchi was great & the daikon had a great bite! Overall, we paid $40 for an okay meal & stares from a creep.

The crispiest crunchiest most delicious k fried chicken and fries! I really loved all of the sauces but my favorites were the Korean buffalo and the honey garlic! The owner was so sweet and really helpful! Def recommend following then on IG to see where they are popping up next!

Crispy chicken is an understatement. It was so crispy! Loved it! The beef bulgogi fries were yummy too.

Best Korean Fried Chicken I've had in the south so far. Also, just realized their name is literally "Brother's KFC" - good stuff

Don't judge a book by its cover. :) Was in Lacombe, LA to have a little "work" done (see Malinski Dermatology review). Wanted to eat beforehand, and not much was open nearby on a Monday. Looked up the menu on Yelp and decided no place that serves fried okra can be bad. Well-lit, open and low noise level. Plenty of easy parking. Not very busy (did I mention it is Monday in a town of less than 9K people?) and did not have to wait before placing order at counter. Was tempted by banana pudding and wedding cake slices in dessert case but went for food instead. Ordered sloppy joe with fries ($8.50) and a doz wings - 6 Pop's sauce (no idea what I was ordering) and 6 spicy peach BBQ (75 cents/wing special) - with Pepsi Zero over ice. Sat at a one-sided booth near window. All items were brought to the table. Sloppy Joe was HUGE with light cheese and a tangy sauce that reminded me of the elementary school version I haven't been able to recreate, with hints of mustard and catsup. Ample fries with light seasoning salt. Wings were brought in same basket in separate foil sheets (I loved this!). Pop's sauce turns out to be hot sauce (Frank's?) with black pepper and garlic Parm. Very tasty combination. Spicy peach BBQ also had the under workings of a hot sauce, just enough peach and vague notes of BBQ. Needless to say, I had leftovers. But a to go box was graciously offered (before I asked) and everyone was very nice. The only "boo": they were out of collards. Guess I'll have to return.

I noticed a Rustic Industrial table at the front window and asked the staff what it was for. Apparently, they are going to put the table and some chairs outside when the weather gets cooler so that diners can bring their puppy along. Yay, Dog Friendly! The table was donated by renowned local artist & woodwright Auggie, who is famous for these tables. He brands the finished product with his logo.
