The food is awesome, not overcooked. The service is amazing and it's kind of like a converted diner.

This is a small hole-in-the-wall mom and pop shop right on Jeff. Hwy. They are cheap, fast, and serve fresh tasty food! One thing I LOVED about this shop is that it was extremely clean. The counters were clean, the walls were clean, the floors were clean, the cooking area was clean... everything was clean! The staff were friendly, and you could see them hard at work as they bring giant trays of breaded chicken to fry up right in front of you. The food is very reasonably priced with good portions. Their fried chicken, biscuits and side (red beans and rice) were yummy. I love cheap, tasty eats that leave you full!

I want to preference that this was a DoorDash order. When the food arrived the chicken was still hot. I ordered the three piece dark, 6-piece chicken nugget, and fries. The fires were just the right amount of crunch and soft. I saw previous reviews that said the chicken was spicy I don't agree with that. The chicken was seasoned and you could tell there was pepper, but it was not spicy. The skin was crunchy, however I wished that was seasoned as well. You can tell the chicken was seasoned but not the flour that it was coated in. The reason for the four stars is the chicken nuggets. Nuggets seemed just barely a step up from McDonalds, so I'm assuming they were frozen and they just fried them. Being that this is a Mom and Pop shop would have thought they would have been prepared in house. Overall the fried chicken itself was really good, and I would go back! The price was pretty great! Definitely would buy local over chain fried chicken restaurants.

Well I'm on a mission to find some fried chicken that could be remotely close to Willie Mae's chicken since they are out of business here in New Orleans. Unfortunately, I still haven't found it. However, this fried chicken is still legit. It checks almost all of the boxes of crave-able fried chicken. It won't bring a tear to your eye and you probably won't necessarily dream about it when you travel back to your destination (clears throat to Willie Mae's ). But it's good. It's crunchy, spicy and juicy. You don't have to go out of your way to try it but if you're in the area, it's not a bad option. I would say it's Popeyes adjacent for a decent price. I got a 3 piece mixed (breast, wing, drumstick) with a biscuit for seven dollars and some change. Hope this helps :)

We got two 3 peace, dark meat, chicken, two things mashed potatoes, coleslaw, and biscuits and drinks

The service was great to everybody was friendly. This is a wonderful little hole in the wall southern pride, chicken place to eat my husband has never been to Louisiana so we asked around to a couple locals for the best style chicken that was Louisiana flavor. And this is the place that we were recommended. . Now the food that we had, the chicken had amazing flavor and the outer shoveled the chicken was amazing. I'm not one who likes coleslaw and their coleslaw was wonderful. I had the right amount of sweetness and tartness. And we also had mashed potatoes and those were good.

One word ( unbelievable) chicken cooked to perfection. Onion rings and fries were great. You sit and eat or take home. Service was very polite. Prices were awesome!

Service is fast! The food is great too! The onion rings were excellent and I really enjoyed the crunchiness, yet somewhat flakiness, of the batter for the fried shrimp. It wasn't doughy and the batter didn't fall off easily. The shrimp was fresh. Oh and the fried okra was nicely done too.

They have the best chicken & Fish and Fries It's better than "Cane's" can't go wrong It's always Hot & Fresh

One of the best fried chicken I've tried in town (so far). Located close to the hospital (5 minute drive), you will be greeted by these crispy, tender, aromatic chickens. The tenders are the size of my fists and just eating five will make you full. Oh and their biscuits are glazed with a sweet honey(?) sauce. I wish their sauce selections were better - it doesn't seem to be house made which is totally fine but I'm a sucker for house made hot sauces.

One restaurant that locals constantly recommended to me was Drago's Seafood in Metairie, and now I completely understand why. I ordered the charbroiled oysters along with the crawfish platter that came with crawfish étouffée, crawfish mac and cheese, and fried crawfish. Every single thing on the table was incredible. The charbroiled oysters absolutely lived up to the hype rich, buttery, smoky, and packed with flavor. The crawfish platter was just as impressive and gave me a chance to try multiple Louisiana dishes all in one meal. What really stood out to me beyond the food was the service. The staff was extremely friendly, welcoming, and patient with questions from someone who isn't from Louisiana and still learning the local food scene. You can tell they take pride in both the restaurant and the hospitality. The only downside is parking can get a little complicated because the place fills up fast, which honestly says a lot about how popular it is. Just plan ahead or expect a short wait finding a spot. Overall, this is one of those restaurants that feels genuinely loved by locals and absolutely worth visiting if you're traveling through the New Orleans area.

My bartender, Darryl, took fantastic care of me. Vibes in this place are very warm and cozy, I sat at the bar to the right of the entrance as you walk in. I had a half dozen char grilled oysters and a cup of seafood gumbo. I see why the oysters are so popular, they are a hit. Buttery and garlicky, the crusty bread they serve with them is a great compliment to soak up the sauce. I had originally intended on getting the chicken and andouille gumbo but Darryl steered me away from it, he said it was very salty. I trusted his word and went with the seafood gumbo instead and was very pleased with it. The flavors were fantastic, but I am gonna ding it ever so slightly as I think $8.99 is kind of an obscene price for that serving size, but at least it was good. Overall I'm very satisfied with my lunch and the service, I think if you like seafood and you're in their area, you should eat here. Edit - $9 for a pint is a little over the top too, imo. My "light lunch" was $42 before the tip.

Located right at St. Charles & Carrollton on the streetcar line, it's super easy to get to and always buzzing in the best way. The drink options are endless--great cocktails, frozen margaritas, beer by the glass or pitcher, and a huge variety of beers to choose from. TVs are everywhere, making it a perfect spot to catch sporting events, meet up with friends, or just hang out solo. The vibe is low-key, casual, and welcoming--no frills, just a consistently good time. I also love that they're open 11 AM to 1 AM, seven days a week, which is clutch no matter the day or occasion. If you're looking for great happy hour options, strong cocktails, classic New Orleans eats, and an Uptown spot where you can relax and connect with friends, Cooter Brown's always delivers. As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.
