Two stars due to 2 increases totaling $20 in 8 weeks. When does it stop? I can look beyond the many outages but not when they screw me and my money. I struggled trying to find a good internet provider in Hendersonville. Against bad reviews about raising their prices I took a risk. I have to admit the service is better than verizon or t-mobile but their customer service sucks. As soon as I can get a better option very soon I'll be happy to leave. read more

You better train the phone customer service. The calls break down so badly that you cannot understand and the persons (6 or more) keep arguing and telling you that everything is fine. I had 19 (nineteen) calls with them - a total waste of time. For maybe 7 years and 10 times I have told them that they got my address wrong however they better waste time arguing than solve the problem. I went into the Optimum store to get help with an Optimum line behind my home that has been low-hanging and lying on the ground under a tree for over a year. Three techs have come out and nothing has ever been fixed. The first tech actually rested and tied the line across small trees (see photos), and now it's sagging through the woods and still sitting on the ground beneath a fallen tree. The second tech was "completely shocked" that it had been left this way, but didn't resolve it, and the third tech never contacted me at all. The older male employee I spoke with on Saturday in the store wasn't completely dismissive, but it felt rude and unhelpful for him to tell me this setup was "acceptable," especially since my follow-up research shows it absolutely isn't. He said he would try to help, but also told me the only way to get it taken care of was for the homeowner whose house the line is connected to to call it in themselves. I later learned that both she and the neighbor in between us have been calling all year with no results. He gave me a phone number to try, but it's geared toward active customers, and if you're not one, it's nearly impossible to reach a person. After a year of attempts from multiple neighbors (and many hours spent on the phone with Optimum) the line is still on the ground and nothing has been done. read more

This is a fly-by-night organization that is only after your money. The aggressive sales tactics, the unending phone calls, and the people showing up to knock on your door to install cable that you've already canceled--and never even subscribed to--highlight Optimum's unethical business practices. I was quoted three different prices from the very beginning and at each stage of confirming, their subscription price rose--with abject apologies about the mistake from the previous CSR. Of course. I'm trying to cancel my subscription. They want me to pay them $65 to cancel the subscription. And they refuse to budge on it. I'm trying to cancel the script description so that I won't have to pay the $65 for next month. They're telling me that I owe them $65 for the previous month. Which is total nonsense. I started getting the service when I paid the $65. Cuz I paid $65 for the upcoming month. Not the previous month. But they're telling me that the $65 charge is for the previous month that are just used. So in effect they are charging me $130 for one month's use if I cancel. read more

Whatever you do stay away from Optimum mobile phone company. I have spent hours on the phone trying to get my phone canceled and I keep getting them offering more free stuff, while billing me for a phone that was supposed to be free. The phone was the worst phone I've had since I had a flip phone many, many years ago. We canceled the service a month ago and we're still getting billed for my wife's phone and it took me over an hour before they agreed to cancel it a second time after telling me we now owe over $400 for her phone. On Friday, Sept 19, 2025 Optimum came out to our road and hooked a new customer up. Since that day our cable and our close neighbors cable keeps going out. It starts like something is wrong with the satellite. And then out it goes. For the past 3 nights we have called Optimum and eventually it comes back on. This is getting ridiculous. We know our boxes are good. The guy told us that both our boxes are bad. "Both our boxes" at the same time?!!!! Ridiculous! Just admit that team may have caused an issue! I'm watching it right now and it's doing the satellite issue and making that weird sound and is off yet again! Sure wish Morris Broadband was back. Never ever had a problem! Store was clean; no lines. I was "cutting the cord" and returning all cable devices but keeping wi-fi. The process was effortless and the rep graciously gave me back some electrical cord that she said was mine (?). She carefully wrote a number I was to call to notify the company. I called while I was still in the parking lot and completed all requirements. And wonder of wonders, Optimum prorates usage so my next statement will contain a credit for the remaining days after I ended the service. So many companies don't do that! read more

I originally was excited to get Optimum because my AT&T DSL was so unpredictable and I thought, finally, cable internet. Not only has the service not been reliable, the company is a nightmare to deal with, and they frequently lie. One person tells you one thing, the next one tells you something else. A good deal of their "customer service" is third-world based. They jack up your rates with no notice, then claim you were just receiving a "promotional" rate previously and that's ended now. Who knows what your bill will be next month! We were promised a free month after Helene since their crappy service was out for weeks, and while some customers I know got their free month, I never did. And of course they refuse to correct that. I have reported them to the FCC and the BBB. The parent company is Altice USA in NY, and their BBB rating is "F". If you have other options for internet, I would suggest you go with those. read more

Since all Optimum services went out after Hurricane Helene came through Hendersonville, NC...I still have no service. It's been six weeks. Their outage map is useless. The absolute lack of information and updates borders on criminal. I called and the response is "We don't know when your service will be back". I visited the store on Main Street, also the same response. They don't care about their customers one bit. Awful company. read more

We have more outages that I can even count - impacting our whole neighborhood. It takes them days to get a repair person out and when they do, it's rarely fixed in one visit. As someone who works from home and relies on internet to make a living, I need a reliable network. We have used them (previously under Morris) for nearly 6 yrs and I keep hoping I get more options where we live so I can ditch these bozos. read more

Horrible!!! 5+ days a week we have 1 or 2 outages per day. Almost consistently at night. TV will start to pixelate and freeze. Internet drops at the same time. Outages usually take 30-45 minutes. If you try to call Optimum, they make you go through an automated "refresh" process that doesn't work. Talking to a live person is hard to get to. If you do, they rarely take blame. If you're lucky, they also have others in your area calling them too, so they know there is an outage. They've sent technicians to our house, only to have them tell us there is nothing wrong with our signal or equipment. On and on and on. Ironically, Optimum just sent us a notice that our monthly cable/internet bill is going up $40/month. No other options in our neighborhood or I'd dump them. Optimum is junk!!!! read more

Best plan ever... if you don't mind sharing the plan you pay full price for with the rest of the people on the line that goes to everyone in your town. I admittedly pay for the 200 mb/sec plan, but usually only get like 5 mb/sec. Who doesn't like being able to go cook and eat a meal while your Netflix or whatever is loading. It is very nostalgic, it reminds me of when I first got internet in 1995. Honestly optimum sounds like a good plan from the name but it really should be named substandard. read more

DO NOT USE OPTIMUM INTERNET SERVICE!!!! They will not stop harassing you! Their internet service is down constantly. After getting tired of not having internet service continuously and calling them asking why my internet was out again, I changed my internet provider. I had AutoPay set up with Optimum, so they got their full payment each and every month. I called them in January, AFTER my January payment had already been deducted and advised them that I had a new internet provider and to discontinue my service. I called 3 times, twice speaking to a "supervisor" trying to get them to stop my service. The only way that they would agree to discontinue my service was for me to pay for ANOTHER full month. I paid for internet service for February over the phone with my debit card, just to get rid of them, even though I'd already had a new internet provider since January. So at this point, I've paid 2 internet companies for internet service for January and now paid 2 companies for February. Since they black mailed me into paying for February, they are so greedy that they wanted MORE money and continued to harass me to pay for yet ANOTHER month, now wanting me to pay for March. When I refused to pay for March, they turned me over to a collection agency. Now the collection agency calls and sends me letters. I've provided them with proof of my payments by email and now also by mail, yet they continue to call. Since January, Optimum has continuously mailed me and called me wanting me back as a customer!!!! If I don't pay my bills and I owe you money, WHY DO YOU WANT ME BACK AS A CUSTOMER????? I finally told them that the internet provider that I have now actually provides internet service on a daily basis and I have internet EVERY day, not sporadically, and that I'm not interested in their "deals" that they keep calling and offering me and for them to stop calling me. If they had put as much time and energy into fixing the internet service as they have put into trying to get me back as a customer and harassing me for more money, I would still have been a customer. But this company will not stop harassing me, even though they've black mailed an extra months payments out of me, they still want MORE money! Do not get sporadic internet service from this company because you will never get rid of them! It's now the middle of June and they're still harassing me for more money!!!!! read more
