I have been a Suddenlink customer for several years. About 3 months ago my TIVO cable box was acting up. I contacted SL and through several telephone calls to customer service reps that I could not understand due to where they were based, somewhere overseas I finally got an appointment for a technician to come out. Only problem is he never arrived, never called. Three more appointments, they never arrived again and again. Finally after visiting the local office 6 times, they showed up only to install a bad TiVo cable box. Numerous calls later I finally got another box. Unfortunately they eliminated my premium channels and raised my rates to 268.00 per month. I decided to go to only internet and would buy my local channels and premiums form HULU streaming services. Suddenlink offered to lower my rate to 151.00 per month, upgrade to 400 mps and unlimited data streaming. Two days later, I do not have my data speeds nor do I have my premium channels. Several calls again to SL and I get someone on the phone who I can barely understand telling me that he cannot locate any prove change or upgrade.......frustrated and still not fixed. I will be disconnecting for sure !!!! This company sucks bad. They are the only game in town for internet. They recently sold and I assume this is why they totally suck. read more

Bottom tier internet provider in terms of customer service. This company treats customers absolutely horribly. Frequent service outages in many areas, price gouging, and they shut off my service during COVID-19 shutdown after claiming they would work with any effected by work stoppage. I had tried to reach them multiple times to inform about my situation (we are under stay-at-home orders) but customer service hours are limited to 9am-1pm in the billing department and wait times are outrageous. Since I couldn't afford not to do what little work is available to me online, I immediately paid the bill with what little grocery money we had for the week, but the service did not come back on. Now, despite the automated system telling me that tech support is still available 24/7, my only option was to schedule a callback 6 hours later. I was in the middle of a job online and now I just lost at least 6 hours of work. If there are other options in your area, choose any of them over these scoundrels. read more

This is the worst service provider in the world. I have both internet and cable, unfortunately they are the only ones providing the service, ATT could not because of the trees blocking any fish communication. We had about a year of problems in 2019 with our cable service, which did not work but they continued to charge. Then suddenly, earlier this year, they had a technician that came and totally solved it. Just last month we had a technician come and solved an internet problem within ten minutes, a problem that they had been useless at for the past 5 years!!! Now I am trying to return my modem, and the only way I can do it is to drive 40 minutes to the FedEx office, a store being ten minutes and other FedEx drop off places being ten minutes away in Truckee. I have been so inured to the incompetence of this company that I actually laughed!!! This monopoly needs to be broken. read more

For the past 5 years now my internet has been going out on a regular basis daily, here in pineville LA. I am switching to AT&T soon and would have switched much, much earlier had it been available to me. Countless of techs, engineers, and customer service reps and half a decade later, the same putrid service and daily outages occur. The recent hurricane Lara has only heightened my already boiling frustration and anger with this company due to the fact that I have not had a connection in over two weeks. Where are all the techs and engineers when I need them the most? I have called a dozen times and it's always the same; wait on hold for hours and hours only to eventually get hung up on. This is a 1 1/2 star rating, and even that might be generous. We had a modem that we returned via FedEX on July 28, arriving in Truckee and signed off on the 29th. So far, so good. Then our August bill arrives and the $10 modem fee was on the bill. We tried and tried to get ahold of a person, or at least one that spoke even a modicum of English, and thought we had succeeded in getting the improper charge erased. Then our September bill arrived. Not only had it not been credited, we were again charged the same fee. We have spent the past three hours fruitlessly trying to rectify this problem, to no avail. Every person, speaking some form of gibberish, says we need to speak to someone else and then disconnects us. If they didn't have a monopoly here we'd tell them to pound sand. If I could give this company negative stars I would. They are unethical and thieves. We cancelled service and were told we did not have any equipment outstanding according to their records. Then several months later we received a notice that we had been sent to collection for not returning equipment without ever having received communication from them. I paid for their service for 12 years and was never even late on a payment and certainly would have returned their device or paid for a service that I legitimately owed. After numerous attempts to resolve this in good faith, I finally gave up and just paid. If you have a choice, go out of your way to not do business with this horrible company. read more

I have been over billed over an 8 month period (3 billing format changes). I have made no less than 10 calls to resolve with no resolution. Now after 5 months, for the first time was told I need to take it up to the local store. Store is closed. They clearly see the over-billing, can't explain how it happened, but no one has the power to resolve. Either that or an intentional drag out fatigue process that hopes I will go away. read more

I have tried 6 times to get another tv box. Four no shows. The other two when technicians actually came did not bring correct or even working devices. Avoid Suddenlink as their support people just lie about everything. Each no show I was told technician was coming. (Today I was told by 5 different people the technician would be at my home soon. I tried their chat support twice today too and finally they are who told me my appointment was cancelled and couldn't get another appointment for One Month and they'd already charged for the service on my bill.watch your Billings as they don't tell what things cost and charge for services you don't get. If there were an option to give negative stars I'd give them a neg- 5. The worst company ever! I signed up for just the internet at first. I opted to upgrade to the 1 gig. The serviceman who was to hook up for the higher speed Internet didn't show up at the appointment time. When I called looking to see where the service man was they told me they canceled me because I didn't answer the call saying he was on the way. I don't typically answer calls from numbers I don't recognize thinking it they're spam. They rescheduled me for the last appointment of the day. The serviceman hooked up the internet and rushed out the door before ever checking to see if it was connected. The next day while working online from home, I realized I didn't have internet. I called them and they weren't going to come back out for another week! Telling them I need my internet to work they offered no solution. At the direction of a Suddenlink specialist via the telephone, I finally went back to the old internet speed using my own router. Long story short I was charged on my auto pay for 3 months for a router I wasn't using and for the 1G service. I was told I had a refund coming for those 3 months but they have yet to do that. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS. Suddenlink will not provide any way for you to contact their branch stores via phone (or e-mail). I have called their support phone line multiple times and the people insist that Suddenlink has no way to contact their branch stores. I would have just gone in to discuss my issue with them, but they closed down my local store (and never bothered to notify local customers). The closest store is now 1 hr and 10 min away, which is where I had to return equipment (which weeks after I sent it, I have no way to confirm if they have received). They have a $900 charge for four or five pieces of used rented equipment on my bill now, and no one in their company will respond to my correspondence. read more

If there was another provider for cable tv and internet at Lake Tahoe I would switch immediately. They have never shown up on the day of service appointments (6 different times). Always an excuse of one thing or another. Today was just another one of their failings. Scheduled appointment 3 weeks ago for this morning for AM appointment and I confirmed it thru their automated call center. Guess what, they never showed up! When are we going to have a new ISP in the area? I livestream for a living and ever since April I can only work from 11pm-9am. I am ok with this, I can somewhat understand the "over saturation" issues, and people having to work or go to school from home, however the past few weeks I don't have reliable internet during any time frame. I am unable to do my job and probably have to move. Thank you suddenlink :) Also, I got a VPN which solved my upload speed issues for quite some time, which leads me to believe they throttle speeds. read more

It appears that the Truckee office didn't enter this return in the data base. I HAVE BEEN CHARGED $115/Mo for service OI haven't received. I have NEVER had one billing question resolved - inspite of at least 10 conversations with over the phone and in person at the local Sudden Link Office in Truckee. From day one, I have been charged for internet and TV, when all I've ever had was internet. Good luck to those considering this company, it is my only choice or I would have changed. Currently I am on hold...probably the call will be dropped again in the middle of a conversation with a customer service person after 30 minutes of holding, and 10 minutes into a conversation. The technician has not shown up for half of the appointments and they don't even bother to call us to say that they will not be coming. Over the months, I have been put on hold for an hour or more, got disconnected several times, Customer support either lied or were grossly mistaken about what their company can do for my problems (one call, they assured me I'd received a refund for returning equipment, the next call, they'd say, Oh I'm sorry, we don't refund for that, I was told the problem would go to a supervisor and I'd get a call back, but no call ever), many times I was given incorrect information, or "check with us in a week to 10 days, or check your next bill, etc. Each time another agent would apologize for what the last agent said but wouldn't follow thru with what I was promised. Since my last review and with the involvement of the BBB, Suddenlink installed my internet finally. We are still working on TV and phone, but progress has been made. If you can get a technician to the house and have a schedule that can flex to when they are available, they do a good job, it's just the customer service on the front end that is very difficult. Never dealt with more unprofessional cable and internet service, 1- my cable was down in the street for exactly 17 days.- no sense of urgency, 2- customer service is not on the right page Ever. 3- the person that comes to put the line back up, has all kinds of excuses about not being able to fix their cable line that has been down for nearly 3 weeks. 4-rigs the line to an aspen tree, does not want to get his ladder down, because he says he has to many other appointments. So he gets up on my Shes and just reaches up as high as he can reach and puts the wire there, which will probably be knocked down again. By a Delivery truck. this is a totally misleading, false advertising company. the amount they show for all of their tv selections, value tv, premier, etc, all of the different selections available, are false. for instance, they show you get espn, and your local off air channels, included in those packages, but the amount, you really pay, is $ 25.16 more. even though they show espn, and your locals are included, they slime balled in some surcharges in the disclaimer, in the amount of $ 25.16, per month. even though they show them as included in the package. showtime, and hbo, they show as optional, so of course you know they are going to cost more per month. for their $90.00 package for life, is actually $115.50 per month, for life. plus, to use the internet, which is included in the package, you must pay a surcharge of $ 10.00 per month, bringing the $ 90.00 package up to $125.50 per month. watch out for this company. what other hidden charges are there?? read more

Only had the service for 9 days, but so far it's great. My installation date was about a week after my order (placed at the local office). The tech. called and told me exactly when he would arrive. He did a neat and tidy job, and worked with me to put the components exactly where I wanted them. Everything works as advertised. Internet speed is usually between 12 and 15 mbps (download). TV picture quality is fine, and the supplied TiVo DVR does exactly what a DVR should do. The supplied phone modem has a built in battery back up that is supposed to run for 6 hours should the power fail. I provided my own cable modem (Motorola SB6141) and router (TP-Link WR-841N running dd-wrt software). $50 for installation ($40 plus $10 for a second outlet) and a total monthly cost of $122.70. Way better than the antiquated DSL/Dish Network at $145. read more

The most awful service people when you have to call the 800 number. And our internet and cable service was intermittent for 9 months and every month they would tell us they couldn't credit us until it was fixed. Once it was fixed they told us they could only credit for one month. We spent countless hours waiting for their service people. Our house was rewired multiple times. We received new boxes multiple times. They even rewired from the street to the house multiple times. And it all turned out it was something out on one of the poles in the neighborhood just like we originally said. If they weren't the only options where we live we would never use them again. read more

These guys have changed 180 degrees from just two years ago. Last year I signed up for their Tivo cable service to supplement the Internet and phone that we already had with them. Their Internet service has been flawless this past year and is up around 20 Mbps download. Whatever it is exactly (and I check speedtest.net regularly), it's so much better than it was. In addition, Tivo has worked well and their phone service has been up consistently for the past year or more. Never misses a beat. Hats off to you guys who have finally fixed and upgraded the lousy system you inherited from USAMedia and Cebridge. read more

The most garbage service and customer support imaginable. We're paying for 1GB service, and we're getting 58 megabytes. It's been 3 days, called in 10 times. Every time, someone is supposed to be calling us back after they "do some work on the back end" and no call back. The last lady we spoke with, like all of them, barely speak any English, do not listen to the problem or look at past notes of us calling in (3 times today alone!), and then hung up on us. The absolute worst. Terrible service and terrible company. First of all, the service quality is awful. They have underinvested in their network, so every holiday weekend their network goes down or speeds deteriorate to 90's dialup modem speeds. TV service also goes out. I just spend the entire holiday season (10 days) without TV. And they could not send out a technician to help me. I asked them to cancel my service via twitter and they ignored me. Then they called to upsell me on more expensive service and when I asked them to cancel my account, they literally hung up. My wife called to cancel and they would not do it either without some mysterious PIN number (ss# is not good enough). Just an awful company. Stay away! read more

Customer service is like... negative 5 out of 10. They always raise rates without notice or explanation. Anyone who gives suddenlink 5 stars is either a new customer or a total casual. I hate these people writing reviews all like: "THEY CAME AND SET UP MY INTERNET NOW I'M SURFING THE WEB YAAAY 6 STARS!!!!" These people dont even know what Ping is or how to test what speeds your internet is actually running at. I just got notification that my "for life pricing" was going up by $10 a month because of overall price increases. First rep I talked to couldn't answer question as to my "for life" price and balked at giving me her supervisor. Finally said they would call me back. No call back yet, but maybe they mean in a few days. I was expecting it within a few minutes. She did say "for life" meant "for life," but didn't seem to connect that with my price increase. I called the number for new service and got a competent rep, but he told me they never offered for life pricing on my Internet and phone bundle. I remember being told that I would get that from the rep I talked to when I ordered last July. The didn't even give me a year on the promo price let alone "for life." The service is fine and the internet is fast and the phone dependable, but I seriously question their ethics. Be sure you really have a "for life" plan and it isn't easy to tell and even harder to prove after the fact. Worst company ever!! Our internet has been down for the majority of every day this month. Our HOA notified us that Suddenlink might be doing some work "to improve" our lines but it's worse than ever. I finally called yesterday as I had some time. I was forwarded to a foreign office...CS rep was nice but couldn't help. Called back today...on hold for 50 minutes then was disconnected. I work from home and can't get anything done. My cell phone bill is also high due to using too much data since I have no reliable WiFi connection at home office. I recently switched my internet service to SuddenLink. They did not "port" over my AT&T number so i had to re-subscribe with AT&T to have the number ported over by Sudden Link. I have now spent a total of 4.5 hours on the phone with the call center always with a promise that someone will call back, the supervisor is on this etc. It has been two weeks without a land line in an area that has no cell service. This is absolutely the worst company i have ever dealt with. They do have faster internet service than AT&T but it is not worth the rudeness and hassles. Just try to find someone who knows anything as i have been unable to do so. read more

To Suddenlink I have to consistently sign out and in. Completely worthless. I have subscribed to TV and I have a 24 hr delay before I can see GMA????? This company has the worst customer service I've ever dealt with. I have spent hours on the phone with our internet problems, which are 1 to 4 hours out every day (for weeks), and have made two appointments with both being mysteriously cancelled (not by us). Do the techs get lazy and cancel their own appointments? Why do they not show up to appointments?! If they weren't the only game in town we would have left years ago.
