Pendy's perfectly describes itself as "an affordable middle to upper fare restaurant with the sense…read moreof welcome of a distinctive, laid-back private club." The menu consists of numerous high-end, elusive dishes. Prime rib is a mainstay on the menu, along with multiple cuts of steak. There's also plenty of seafood options, such as escargot, frog legs, mussels, oysters, swordfish, and more. Our server, Leanne, was professional and efficient, and truly added to the experience my wife and I had. We began our meal with a couple cocktails, Sarah's lemon drop and the espresso currupto. The lemon drop was intensely, but delightfully, sour, while the espresso currupto offered a refreshing blend of espresso and vodka. For our appetizer, we ordered escargot. The tastes of butter and garlic were distinct, and masked the earthiness escargot tends to have. We also got the French onion soup, which was legitimately the best I've ever had. Rather than a beef stock, Pendy's uses a veal stock that is made in house. For our entrees, we got the D.M.P. and frog legs. The D.M.P. is a double patty smash burger, and is named in honor of David Michael Pendy. David and his wife, Susan, opened Pendy's in August 2023, 2 weeks before his unexpected passing. The burger itself is one of the better ones I've had in the Pointes. The fries had the classic, thin cut and just the right amount of salt. The frog legs were large in size and flavorful, and came with sides of broccoli and mashed potatoes. I opted for the road house style over the Korean BBQ. I will say, I preferred the fries that came with the burger over the mashed potatoes. To top things off, we got the tiramisu ice cream cake. Although it was an enjoyable dessert, there was more of an "ice cream cake" taste to it than "tiramisu." I had high hopes for Pendy's, and yet, it exceeded my expectations. It is an underrated establishment that deserves more local recognition.

There weren't many customers inside, there Were picking up the door dashes. the cheese was watery with no seasoning did not taste like cheese, the chil there was an odd tasting, it did not taste like chili. The fries were not hot, so I'm going to have to give them a lower rating because of this. I do appreciate them remaking my fries with everything on the side, they just were not flavorful. Perhaps, try this place and Get the burgers. Sorry, guys do better. GRATZI!

Small restaurant featuring made to order burgers and fries. Very limited menu, basically one burger…read moreoption. It comes with cheese, pickles, grilled onions and a "yard sauce" that is more or less 1000 Island dressing. At the end of the day, it was essentially an upscale impostor Big Mac. The only burger decision is if you want 1, 2 or 3 patties. The patties themselves are very thin, but not in that good smash burger way. They weren't at all crispy like a smash burger is. They also have a crispy chicken sandwich (prepared same as the burger is) and some chicken tenders. I thought there would be more burger toppings and other menu offerings (a side beyond fries for example). Despite the fact that they only offer a few variations of the same item. I would've expected better execution than what I experienced. My burger was very greasy. Take a look at the picture on this review. There's a huge puddle of grease after I took my first bite. Wasn't very excited about that. The bun to beef ratio was way off as well. and little details that I like at a burger joint like a properly toasted bun weren't there. the bun was toasted, but very, very lighty. I didn't pick up much seasoning on the burgers either. The fries were quite good, fresh and hand cut. They give a huge portion so that is a bonus. Staff was very friendly and helpful which is always appreciated. There was good value, $9.99 for a single burger, fries and a drink. Add $3 for each additional patty. If you're a lover of a Big Mac, maybe this place will be up your alley. Personally I prefer a place that offers lots of toppings for a build your own burger experience. Burger Yard is not that.
