    Oran Mor charcuterie.
    Mike W.

Buyer beware. Do you like a nice charcuterie board? Ever had a lousy one served in a paper plate? You can get both at Oran Mor. An embarrassing display to say the least. The meads and wine are sub par, at best. A neat venue inside with potential, but not ready for prime time. Save your time and money.

On this Sunday afternoon happiness is a growler of Rainier Cherry Cider, a Charcuterie Plate and listening to The Dylan James Band.

Draper is an excellent brewery in my mind. The beers are experimental and creative with their beers making some pretty unusual beers that taste great! We have had three of their beers so far on two separate occasions and both times the beers were very impressive and enjoyable! One of the beers we had was the Thumb Ring. A Wild Ale that was excellent. It was aged on peaches, blackberries and coconut. Flavors featured with this beer are tartness, peachy, cherry and a hint of purposeful mustiness. Wit Bat was another beer we had. Also a Wild Ale this beer was wonderful also! Flavors to find with this Ale are tartness and jam like. The jam like qualities come from the marionberries and the Coriander brings it an extra depth. A very effervescent and elegant Ale. The third beer we had was the Earl of Tenmile. This was a Sour Ale with flavors of tart, sour, some sweetness and a clean finish. It is a blend of two and four year spontaneously fermented Ales. Such great beers and ales Draper has to offer and I would love to continue to explore with more of their beverage options which I hope would be in the near future.

As usual the service here is outstanding. The severs are warm inviting and are attentive. The environment is as always very comfortable and relaxing. Now for the breakfast review: Today I being it's my first breakfast here I tried the biscuits and gravy with a sausage patty. The drink I chose for this morning's breakfast was a Spanish coffee. Typically when I try an establishments breakfast for the first time it's always biscuits and gravy. By far my favorite breakfast ever. If they prepare this dish well that tells me it's okay to be more adventurous. Well the Lilly nailed it today. The biscuits and gravy is everything that it should be. Authentic and not artsy fartcy. Just good old school down home biscuits and gravy and that is what I received today. The dish was flavorful and the biscuits are spot on. The sausage patty was of very good quality and very flavorful as well. The Spanish Coffee was very nice prepared and the presentation was excellent. Once again the Jersey Lilly has knocked it out of the park. I highly recommend that you try this establishment.

It is a Victorian Mansion. (With several ghosts) set on a hill. The food was delicious, the ambiance was delightful, and service was attentive but not "in your face". The whole evening was special.

It has been a year since I've been to the Parrot House and wanting to try their reinstated buffet…read more I like a buffet where you can try different foods. I really wanted to like this place because it's the one fairly fancy place in town...but, it was a disappointing experience. We got to the restaurant for our 10am reservation but the door didn't open until exactly 10. People huddled under the porch because it was raining fairly hard. We were shown inside, then back outside to another room to our table. We ordered and they said the buffet was in the tent-outside. So, coat & rain hood back on to go to the buffet. Unfortunately, the buffet wasn't ready so we went back to our seats. The buffet wasn't ready for around 20 minutes-because some of the kitchen crew called in sick so they were operating with less help. The remaining crew was working hard to get it set up. So they were doing a good job-they just needed more help. The buffet had: Eggs, Potatoes, Bacon, Sausage, Biscuits & Gravy, Jalapeño Cheddar Bagels, Smoked Salmon, Salad, Dressing, Potato Dill Soup, an Omelet bar and Prime Rib. Unfortunately, most of the food we got wasn't warm. I think the top of the chafing dishes were able to cool off, even though, the bottom was hot. Didn't know that until going back in. Thats a dangerous situation where bacteria can grow. The bread was excellent. It was a chewy Italian bread. The butter balls were firm so hard to spread. There were bagels and smoked salmon but it would have been nice to have something other than just jalapeño cheddar bagels for the smoked salmon. Maybe, get something more neutral in flavor that more people would eat. I think I have fairly normal tastes and love biscuits & gravy but the biscuits and gravy had an odd flavor to me. I wasn't a fan but that may be a preference. The prime rib was ok but not terribly tasty. The Potato dill soup was just ok, too. The omelet bar probably was the safe choice since you pick your ingredients but I make those often at home so I wanted to try other things. I think they are trying to be fancy instead of just making good food that everybody would like. Service was good. We did have to wait for coffee but overall they were nice and did a good job letting people know when the buffet was ready. Overall: Ambiance is 5/5; Service 4/5, Food-the temperature, late food and having to walk in the rain to the tent and back with a plate of food while getting rained on drops the overall score to 3/5. Opening that heavy door with a plate of food is a problem, too. Maybe have the tent right outside the entrance to the main dining room so your customers and their full plates don't have to be out in the rain. There has to be a better way.

5 Stars - A Perfect Anniversary Getaway!…read more My wife Tiffany and I stayed at the guest house at Cooper Ridge Vineyards over the 4th of July weekend for our anniversary, and we had an absolutely wonderful time. The guest house was spotless, very reasonably priced, and gave us the complete run of the vineyard once the tasting room closed. It was so peaceful and relaxing. The property offers both 1- and 2-bedroom options and has gorgeous views overlooking the North Umpqua River and the vineyards perfect for morning coffee or evening wine on the patio. Steve and Paula, the owners, are wonderful, warm people who were incredibly accommodating and made us feel right at home. Their wines are superb, especially the pomegranate sparkling wine, which quickly became our favorite. We also loved the complimentary charcuterie board! The guest house was well-equipped with a washer and dryer, iron, full refrigerator, coffee maker, and plenty of dishware -- everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Located in beautiful Douglas County wine country, it's conveniently just minutes away from many other wineries, making it an ideal base for exploring the Umpqua Valley. Do yourself a favor and book a stay with Steve and Paula at Cooper Ridge Vineyards. You won't be disappointed!

Restrooms are inside, parking is on the vineyard. The day we were there, they had a taco vendor for food. Overall, this was one of our favorite wineries to visit and hope to be back when we're in the area.

They have an extensive wine list; so my husband and I each did a tasting of 6 ($10), and then ordered the smoked salmon plate ($25). We then took a seat out on the terrace overlooking the beautiful winery and vineyard. Not long after we were seated, we were served our wine flights and salmon plate. Let me first say that the smoked salmon plate was beautifully presented and very delicious. The salmon was tender and moist, accompanied with cream cheese and a wonderful pepper jelly. Oh, so good. My wine flight was mostly whites. My favorite tastes were the sauvignon blanc (not a typical suave blanc, less acidic with a smooth finish); the chardonnay, and the rose. But I enjoyed all the wines I tasted. Also note that they have a small gift shop with some very cute items. I'm so very glad we came here. Great staff, great views, great food and great wine. We will definitely be back again next time we are in the area.
