I wanted to eat many different foods, as it had been a long while, so I went to Orange Bar. The food was definitely a choice I didn't regret. However, not long after I sat down, I noticed that the chair was dirty with red sauce, and it got all over my jeans. I asked the waitress--slightly annoyed--to clean the chair. When I came back from the restroom, she and three other waitresses laughed at me and sarcastically said, "I cleaned the chair." I later found out that she even showed my friend a "clean" rag in a mocking way while I was gone. Even though the experience was extremely unpleasant, I tried to stay calm. But when I sat back down, the red sauce got on my hand again (she only cleaned my seating area). I had to wipe the chair five times myself with napkins. None of the staff who saw this came over to help or clean it properly. The food was very good, but the service was unbelievably bad--one of the worst experiences I've ever had. I didn't want to leave a tip, but since there were other staff members as well, I still tipped and left. I value not only good food but also the attitude and professionalism of the servers, because it directly affects my overall experience. I know Orange Bar means a lot to many OC Koreans- but man this place was a bit disappointing. Gone are many of the drinks and eats specials, replaced with efficiency and higher pricing. Service was friendly so that was a plus- now on to the food. The tongdak- was fried open faced and nicely crisped but also very dry. It looked like they used Cornish hen instead of smaller chickens , hence a big difference in taste. Makes me miss OB Bear which was the tongdak gold standard for this grumpy Korean. The fried rice cake with popcorn chicken dish was a solid standard bar food and paired well with a cold beer. Rest of the sides were decent as well. All in all, this spot was pretty hyped by friends but rather underwhelming to visit. Will update my review if a future visit improves the experience a bit. read more

We started with the tuna mayo kimbap (very light with good mouth feel from the crisp veg) and also ordered 20 pieces of marinated wings. Corn cheese was also nice too (not too sweet). Wings came out with a side of pickled cubed radish, perfect to cut the grease. The sauce was a good balance of sweet and slightly spicy. All wings were flats we noticed, no drums. Came here on a Friday night with my wife and a couple of friends, and we had a great time. They didn't have the draft beer I originally wanted, but at least they had Sapporo, so all good. We ordered a bunch of food, chatted for hours, and just enjoyed the night. One thing I appreciated this time was that it wasn't as loud as the last visit. We could actually talk without shouting, which made the evening even better. They had the Dodgers vs. Angels game playing, which added a nice touch for us baseball fans. Got together with a few cousins at this bar. We wanted to watch the NFL playoffs near Whittier and Buena Park; hub between inland empire and Long Beach area. Everything was ordered on table software, including the drinks. So here's my review: Food: 4/5. From the garlic Parmesan fries, to the honey crispy fries chicken wings, all was tasteful and fresh. Some of the items were 'out' and not available, but not updated in the system. Drinks: 3/5. I was expecting a full bar with various spirits, but the liquor was only white asian spirits; soju,etc. They did have various foreign beer on tap (like 10-12 handles). Price: 3/5. The drinks were a bit pricey, but consistent with the area and type of drinks they offered. It could be due to the import selection they had. Service: 5/5. By far my favorite part of the experience. The waitresses were attentive, polite, and quick to respond to orders. I wouldn't mind trying this bar again. I enjoy Korean spirits. I give it a 4.2 as well. read more

It was a rainy day and a great place for late night reunion with girl friends. Ample parking spaces that is well lit. Menu selections were overwhelming and a bit confusing but once we figured out they share a kitchen with the Chinese restaurant next door, it all made sense. You can order bar food or from the Chinese restaurant- how convenient. Plenty of selections and all sounded delicious. Menu also has pictures so you'll know what you're ordering if you're not familiar with Korean bar food. There's also TV to watch sporting events. We ordered spicy kimchi tofu that was served with thinly pork slices- it was delicious. Also had chicken wings - tasty and the batter was very thick. Didn't take pictures but they have great selections of beer, cocktail and Korean adult drinks like soju & maekgulee. I came here with a few buddies and it's a cool hang out spot. They had plenty of tv's and you can come here and watch pretty much any sport. Great service - I requested one of the TV's to be changed to show the angels game and they put so much effort into making it happen. For those reviewers who claim lack of service: it is super quick, you do need to ring the bell on the table or flag them down as it's just part of the conduct for many Asian bars. Was a huge fan of this place until our last visit--had a party of 12 and service was absolutely horrible. Gone was the cheery/lively/friendly atmosphere we were all used to, rather it was replaced with poor and rude service. No one to check in or check up on us despite our table being the largest active table, with us consistently having to wave/call for service--I can understand having a bad day, but if all the staff had sour/angry looks on their face then maybe there is a deeper issue going on internally at the eatablishment. Our friend, at one point, had to actually ask the staff to please clear the used/dirty dishes because they were piling up on our table from all the food we ordered. Despite racking up a $550 bill we were begrudgingly given some complimentary drinks after I asked (for those that don't know it's customary to be given complimentary drinks the more you order without having to ask--about $400 in I finally asked, which I don't normally do or like to do, because there was no love or care or attention being shown to our table)--I don't think any of us will be going back. read more

Old billiards place. Layout of the bar is very open. You walk in and you see a long bar area with drink fridge along one side and there are tables in the middle and along the side of the window. Layout is a bit odd especially if you are in the middle table between the bar and booth seat. Considering the place being new the inside was very clean and they share the building with korean food place that has all the street food and other bar foods too. Had their chicken with rice cake and fish cake soup and just drank majority of the night. There were lot of workers but they took a long time for us to get our silverware and our beer cups as we had more people that joined us towards the end of the night. Cost of drinks and food were decently priced. One bad thing about this plaza is its hard to find a parking. Not sure if it wast just busy on friday night or always busy. read more

Been coming here often for many years but stopped after Covid. We decided to visit Orange Bar and bring back old memories. The outdoor sitting was nice, plenty of space between tables. We ordered soju and lots of food. Korean bars are known for service, not your traditional way of getting waiter services but service like complimentary appetizer or drinks because you spend a lot of money. We were only four but ordered 1 pitcher, 4 sojus, 7 entrees total but we receive not a single service!!! Before Covid, the waitresses and waiters knew exactly what to bring as complimentary service such as french fries, or even a can of coke. Todays waitresses don't know any of that. We took the courage and asked if there was any service, she didnt say a thing and left, we asked for extra soup to our jjampong, usually they bring you full bowl of extra soup but she said because they have to cook the soup the cannot give extra soup, we mentioned that we usually get extra soup and then she said she would ask inside the kitchen. Unbelievable, anyways, our bill came out to $170+ didn't wanted to tip, but I did...and you know wI am never coming back to Orange Bar. read more

After our first two choices had lines out the door, we were too tired to try and wait so we wandered across the street to the Orange Bar. Thankfully, it was mostly empty at 6PM and we were seated immediately. The menu was well organized and had good quality pictures to help us plan our meal. The seafood odeng soup was hot, tasty, just the right amount of kick, and was perfect for a cold day in December. I had 3 bowls of it and there was still enough to share with two other people. The cold noodles had good texture, the soup base was well flavored and the kimchee added a good touch opposite the shredded cucumbers. The bibimbap was not bad although it was a little lacking in variety of ingredients. The night we went though, the chicken dishes were all disappointing. The best of the three was the popcorn chicken. It was well seasoned and heavy on the white pepper which was a nice twist. The larger pieces were moist but the smaller ones where too hard to eat. The rotisserie chicken was way over cooked and the white meat was too dry to eat. The skin was nicely crisped. The best part of this dish was the pickled daikon and the spicy pickled onions. The worst dish was the soy sauce wings. There were just sweet and sticky with no counter balancing flavor. The wings were also overcooked to the point where the meat was chewy and dry. We all tried one but I was the only one who could get the whole wing down but I didn't even think about trying a second. read more

Luckily, this place fits right within my tastes. I've had friends from many different places - from Boston to DC to New York to even Canada - rave about how good the food here is. I personally know that the recipes are crafted by a genuine Korean mother (the wife of the owner), so you can rest assured that the Korean dishes here are top quality. The menu is HUUUUGE, so you're bound to find something you'll like, whether it's crispy fried wings, boiling hot stew, ice-cold noodles, delectable fried rice, or simple and tasty finger food. It's a solid place to grab some food and alcohol while chatting with friends. The K-pop and sports playing in the background isn't personally a big draw for me, but I could see how some people would enjoy it. The noise level is therefore moderate - not a quiet bar, but also not too loud like a nightclub. There's a decent soju and beer selection too, and margaritas for those who aren't too fond of bitter liquor. The ice soju is very refreshing for hot summer nights, and there are a lot of combos you can get with the chicken items! You can even try some more exotic drinks like flavored sake. Parking can be hard to find late on the weekends, but you'll likely find a spot somewhere in the vast lots in the area. Personal tips: - Order the chicken wings with sauce on the side. You get the crispy PLUS the sweet, sweet sauce. - Get any of the fried rice with cheese, and extra spiciness if you can handle it. I promise it will change your life. - The chips are amazing! They're made in-house (hand-cut potatoes!) drizzled in honey and sprinkled with a touch of herbs. - If you can handle spicy food, go to the grilled section of the menu and order the chicken. There are CLOVES of garlic in there. Simply delish for any spicy food fanatics. - There are lychees on the menu, which are great for dessert. They're honestly a bit pricey, but it's a refreshing way to end your visit. - Don't forget to grab the WiFi password written on the signboard near the entrance!
