Premium Short Rib Soup
Kaelyn R.

We both ordered the premium short rib soup. Super tender and fall off the bone short rib. The broth was very light and clean, exactly what we needed after a night of drinking. Definitely need to dip the meat in the sauce for more flavor. For about $25 as of January 1, 2026 (yes they were open and pretty busy) definitely worth it. Great side dish selection. Good for large groups, clean and modern interior.

I love how I can come on a Friday night and have no wait. I don't understand why it's not busier maybe it's just the plaza itself but this place is really good! It's not an AYCE KBBQ. But I think the service and quality is worth every penny! Service is always fast and friendly. Food wise always just enough! They don't do this every time but, I've came a few times and the kitchen would send out an extra dish that we didn't order and say it's on the house. Once they sent me a sample of their beef soups. Last night we had a mushroom dish that honestly tasted like the honey walnut shrimp you would get at a Chinese restaurant. It was really good! I love their galbitang beef short rib soup. It was one of their soups they let me try during a previous visit. (Sorry, I don't have a photo) but it's the cleanest most flavorful beef broth I've ever had. I have to order it every time we go now. For our group of 3 adults, a 3 year old and 6month old we ordered Combo B, one side of rice, a steamed egg, 3 bottles of soju and the galbitang. It was more than enough food for all of us. Yes, including the 6month old! Our server last night was Kayleen!!! She's the best! She was really nice to my kids and wasn't mad when my toddler kept dropping his utensils. She was always quick to replace them even when we said she didn't have to. We love this place and will continue to come here.

Located on the top floor of the busy Source OC. It's a very nice place, with lots of glass windows for excellent views. I liked being seated by the window where we can people watch as the sun sets. The staff is pretty friendly, though at times felt rushed when they were serving us. We were seated right away 5pm on a Saturday, but I can see it getting busier and busier as the night went on. The meat quality is good, not the best I've had, but overall good quality meats which is reflected in the premium pricing. The banchan spread is good too, and with kbbq it includes a tofu soup and steamed egg. I'm normally not a fan of the potato salad, but this I enjoyed, The sweet corn made it stand out. The cucumbers were a refreshing sweet. Kimchi, japchae were all delicious. Not sure if we could've asked for more as we weren't offered any more when they took our empty plates. The beef brisket had a great amount of marbling, which was great. Wish the portion was larger though. Not sure if we should've just gotten the combo if the portions are the same. The pork brisket is a pass for us. Not bad by any means, but I'd get something else if we come back The marinated short rib was probably my favorite dish. The perfect amount of marbling and marinaded well. Juicy and tender. It was a nice meal overall. While I wouldn't consider this place a must-try, especially with so many options at the Source, it's a good place for a quality meal.

The restaurant has excellent, friendly service, and the food is well-prepared and fantastic, especially the meat and side dishes. It's great for large groups, and everything is clean and modern. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an authentic Korean dining experience.

Always fantastic service here and our normal server and a male server tonight sorry I didn't catch their names but she always helps us when we come in. Met family for dinner to see each other been a while. Was nice to see family and have dinner together and catch up. Not too busy tonight either for a Sunday evening, got our food quickly and they made it in the back for us so that was nice since the kids and I were all tired to cook and wait for food. Thank you always for amazing service and always asking how we are when we come in. Appreciate the friendly service and delicious food. The beef brisket was a little on the fatty side though this time but the bulgogi was made good. The kimchi stew is always made deliciously and the banchan sides were all yummy. Have a beautiful day, be kind to everyone :) Aloha

quiet, relaxed atmosphere that's perfect for a comfortable meal. The table is generously set with a wide variety of dishes, and the staff provide excellent service.

There are a lot of kbbq in Buena Park. I feel this one is more authentic like in South Korea. In South Korea, they give a lot of side dishes and not everyone of them is spicy. This places side dish is not spicy so it can accommodate most people. Even the kimchi wasn't spicy but yet it was flavorful. It really reminded me of Korea as even there, not all Korean eat spicy. But the best part was the meat. Their ribeye cap is basically the juiciest ribeye you can get. Frank and musso in Hollywood is known for serving this part of ribeye and this place basically took notice of this and thought why not do it kbbq style? Guess what? It works! Is flavorful and juicy. They didn't overcook it. It was just right with a bit red in the middle. I mean if you don't like red, you can sear the middle a bit but you might lose that juicy texture if you do. Their non marinated short rib(the most expensive one) is a must get! I love short rib but sometimes it is way too fatty. Well, this one is the solution. Not too fat, still has the same texture and taste to it. The quality is absolutely fantastic. Price might be higher than other kbbq around the area but the quality is unmatched. You get what you paid for. Service was nice and friendly. Although we went right when it open so it wasn't packed. So maybe when it is packed, it can be a different story. Overall, I'd come back. Is closer than frank and musso if I want ribeye cap but I can also have other variety of dishes too. Which remind me the kimchi pancake was very good too but it was a backdrop compared to the meat though.

When we walked into the restaurant we thought there was an AYCE option but we were wrong. We sat down and the waitress showed us options and suggested one for our table. There were 5 of us and the portions of meat that came out was a fair amount for us but we definitely didn't leave full like an AYCE option. The sides that came out were definitely not enough for us to share. One small cup of cheese corn for a table of 5 was sad. I didn't even get to try it because I wanted others to. The waitress ordered 4 bowls of rice even though there were 5 so we had to ask someone else for another bowl of rice. The meat was very good and she cooked it for us which we appreciated. It was a little concerning that we walked in on a Friday night and we were the only table seated for most of the duration of our dinner. The inside was pretty big and spacious. Everything was clean and the staff were friendly. We just wish the sides were enough to share. If they were we were not given the impression that they would bring out more.

To put it straight, it's a premium price kbbq with lowered Ace quality meat. All the meats were overly fat and not marbled. Anywhere else would be better

Phillip H.

All the food and quality of meat is bomb And all server is very nice and chill They are master of grill the kbbq and customer service And mood ambiance is chilling

Wwwowza! The food is super amazing and our server Kevin was the funniest and most personable that we've ever had. 100% recommend this place.

I frequent the source, and Gangnam House has been on my list pretty much since it opened, but I never got around to trying it because friends wanted to eat elsewhere (and you can't usually eat Korean bbq alone). My family and I decided to finally try it and I'm so glad I did. We got combo B as we were told combo A might be too small. It's pretty pricey but also honestly worth it. The meats looks and tastes. Some of them didn't blow me away per se but some of them with how flavorful they are. You also as usual get plenty of sides, so you will be leaving very full. The service was great, the staff is very friendly and personable, and there's plenty of seating inside too which is nice. It's a place to check out for sure if you love kbbq.

The tuna and toppings were okay but the crispy rice tasted like fried fair food almost with the texture of a rice cake. Hopefully, their other dishes are better. For drinks, the waiter helped select the Banana Batida for me which was very lovely! I love how customized the recommendations were. My partner ordered a rum drink which he enjoyed as well. We finished off with a brownie dessert. I really enjoyed the passion fruit puree and kiwi topping. The brownie tasted good but was very dense which isn't my preference. Overall, would recommend. Prioritize the drinks over the food in my opinion

The truffle chicken is such a perfect dish for me, especially because all I usually eat is protein and veggies. The truffle flavor is strong, which is a good thing! The wontons were cooked nicely and yummy. Not overcooked so don't need to worry about soggy dumpling wrapping paper. The alcoholic drink we ordered was something along the lines of "monkey" in the name of it. It was delicious!! Cold and sweet. The crab roe dish was great. The crab flavor is pretty strong, which I love - no complaints there. I'll definitely return to try out some more dishes. We also got a stir fry beef veggie dish, which I noticed now I forgot to take a photo of. It was delicious as well; lots of garlic in that so beware. Don't worry, they have mouth wash in the bathrooms, which is so considerate and convenient! Our servers were nice and attentive. After our party of six chatted over cocktails and preyed on pupus, we moved to a "secret" room tucked in the back of Stowaway and walked into a Belly Of The Beast. The founders and co-owners of Stowaway, Leonard Chan and Dominic Iapello, created this extension to the tiki bar with a wildly interesting Pinocchio theme and the famed encounter with Monstro the whale all the while serving the same offerings in Stowaway but with also an exclusive limited menu just for this adventure. With its proximity to Disneyland and its Enchanted Tiki Room, with the very niche underground-like society of tiki culture they found a consistent customer base and the thrill of island escapism through colorful cocktails, pleasurable pupus, tropical trimmings, and nostalgic know-how. How would my belly handle the beastly drinks concocted here!? PURCHASE(S) Gepetto's Last Words ($16.00): Intrigued by the cocktail's name, this elixir was crafted with Fid Street Gin, tangerine, creme de violette, lemon, and cucumber, it was a citrusy refreshing sweet drink that was decorated with bright yellow petals. It was nice, but for whatever reason it just didn't quite hit the spot. [ONION RINGS/STRAWS/STRINGS ALERT - 4.0 of 5.0 STARS] Onion Rings ($9.00): A decent portion with rings of medium to large sizes, these were hot, dark golden browned, crunchy, and had a slight tendency to crumble when bitten into while the onion ring (sweet Maui!) rarely pulled out at times. They were lightly oily while the catsup wasn't needed but used. SERVICE While in Stowaway, we informed our male server to let us know when we were allowed to enter the belly. Once inside and situated, we had the place and bartender to ourselves. After we all perused the menu, we placed our orders, and everything arrived within ten minutes. The rest of the time was spent chatting, picture taking, and our bartender checked in on us also giving a Dole Whip taster. All was casual, chill, and somewhat on island time - aloha and mahalo! PARKING (FREE): They shared a medium-sized private lot with several other businesses who were closed at this time with plenty of spots - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE "Hidden" inside Stowaway which was located within a strip mall, the entire theme was based on the Pinocchio story, the interlude in time spent inside Monstro, and as we entered it felt like the beginning of the Disneyland "Storybook" ride as you road a canal boat into the mouth and sharp teet of a whale. There were several marionettes (appropriate and non-appropriate) that hung from the ceiling and belly walls, along with other Disneyesque memorabilia, a few sitting booths, and a tiny bar at the end of the roo. No natural lighting whatsoever while an assortment of extremely low-lit electric lights and table candles glowed. There were no TVs while I couldn't recall any background music. ATTIRE Although I was actually dressed appropriately for the occasion in an aloha shirt, linen pants, and flip-flops, this place was totally casual, so a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops would suffice. OVERALL Belly Of The Beast was an adventurous fun evening with friends, it left me feeling childlike with the need to watch "Pinocchio", and I couldn't wait to return to try more of their awesome-soundling elixirs. I generally loved all-things Disneyana, and this new wrinkle, albeit probably not approved by the mouse ears brass, caught my fancy. My one drink was tasty but just didn't hit the right spot, the onion rings were very good, the prices were a tad elevated, the atmosphere was awesome, and the service was friendly and professional. They had an extremely limited menu, and there was some doubt whether or not ordering from the Stowaway menu was an option. Plus, I always preferred to support small local mom & pop businesses. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $27.00 BEFORE any discounts and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS
