Their wings are pretty big compared to your average flats that you'd usually get at your typical TGI Friday's. So you're getting bang for your buck here. My bf and I got 12 wings of the original and 12 wings of the soy. We couldn't finish the whole thing, but brought home the other half, threw them in the airfryer the next day and they were still crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. I don't know how they do it, but the breading is absolutely perfect! It's not greasy either so this wing has the perfect harmony of crunch and barely any grease. The only downside of this place is that they don't have any wipes, but they do have restrooms. Lol The clam soup was a nice pairing with the wings to wash down the crumbs, as well as the cabbage salad. The cabbage salad had a thousand island mild kind of dressing that was really nice. We love coming here. The food is consistently good. It is a long wait for the wings but it's worth it. They come out perfectly hot and crispy. Inside meat is always juicy. You get big portions as well. We got 24 wings for the both of us and had leftovers. This location feels a lot more calmer than the other KoKo locations we have gone to. They still play Kpop and have a big bar menu but customers here tend to be much older and respectful. Why did everyone in OC stop talking about this spot?? This is literally my go-to place for Korean fried chicken. The inside is no frills, but I promise you, this is how you know they be cookin' up the best fried chicken. You can seriously taste that they use fresh, never frozen chicken which makes the chicken SO juicy. And I always have to get their Rose topokki. The new Buldak loaded fries are, indeed, really spicy but it hurts so good, ya feel me? :p But my favorite had to be their new Elote corn ribs. Koko is one of our go to spots for Korean fried chicken but we were very disappointed today. Placed an online order and arrived a few minutes early to check in. Was notified by the rep that the food would be ready in about 10 minutes which meant it would be done on time based on our order placement time. What needed up happening was that we got our food 56 minutes after we placed the order and not 35 as stated in the email. I ordered these Koko Soy Wings for two people and we only got through half of it. These were so delicious but I was just so full. They took a while to come out but when they finally came you can tell they were freshly prepped, bartered, and cooked to perfection. These wings were so crispy and golden. Met with a group of friends to try out koko chicken on a Friday night for the first time. There is another Korean Fried Chicken place that we have gone to, so it gives me the opportunity to compare. The restaurant is decently sized, however for a group of 10, they squeezed us into two four tops and one two top which numbers wise it should be enough but with all the food we ordered collectively, there was not a lot of room to be comfortable. As for the menu, we had to order two twelve piece orders of different flavors which ends up more expensive instead of allowing me to order a 24 piece, but allowed to choose at least two different flavors which would be cheaper. For my wife and I, we ordered the Parmesan wings and the Jr wings and an order of the carbonara dukpokki which did not taste like a carbonara. The Parmesan wings tasted sweet like it was soy chicken then they put Parmesan cheese. First time here and definitely the last. They were not accommodating here. The flavor could've been a little more bold so opt for a sauce for sure. The Parmesan was good too. The tornado fries were easy to munch on and I don't see this style of fries in a lot of places. There aren't many places in the area where you can host a gathering of more than ten. We had a group of 14 and reserved a side space by the door for our party. Another bonus about this place is that they have BUY TWO SOJUS and get ONE FREE--quite a deal for a large group. When everyone was feeling full and buzzed, It turned out we were one order away from receiving a free bottle, so being the Korean in us, we asked for another (two) bottle. I first heard about and went to KoKo Chicken & BBQ in Buena Park in 2011. Around that time, I had watched a Korean drama titled "You're Beautiful". A quote from that drama that really stuck with me was this: "The world is round, so no matter how far you go, just like the magic bus, you'll immediately return to the place where you belong." I didn't know it back then, but this single quote would define my experience with KoKo Chicken & BBQ. Growing up, one of my favorite foods was fried chicken wings. Later, as I became more busy with school and other things, I switched my preference to chicken tenders since they were boneless and less cumbersome to eat on the go. I especially loved the chicken tenders at KoKo! Then I went through a fairly long phase where I focused on a more ketogenic diet, thereby foregoing breaded chicken all together! I was kind of on an island by myself for a long time because I stubbornly adhered to my diet and would often refuse to eat out with friends and family if their destinations didn't meet my dietary requirements. Then the pandemic happened in 2020. I realized that life was too short to deny myself the moments of camaraderie with loved ones over food. In the ensuing years, I made up for lost time. I decided to dedicate most weekends to trying different restaurants with my younger brother. By 2024, I found myself back at KoKo Chicken & BBQ. It was actually at the La Palma location that I made my long-awaited return to KoKo on March 5, 2024 (I'm a numbers guy, so I remember specific dates really well). Naturally, I combined the best of both worlds from my childhood and young adulthood, as I ordered chicken tenders and wings for takeout. They were so good that my younger brother told me that he wanted to go to the actual restaurant some time. Living in Buena Park, KoKo's Buena Park location was obviously the closest to home, so that's where we went for Round 2 on March 30, 2024. Again, we ordered chicken tenders and soy wings! A funny thing happened on that day: The size, taste, and crunch of the soy wings were so mesmerizing to my brother that he decided that he would only eat chicken wings at KoKo from now on. Another food item that my brother and I have come to love at Koko is the tornado fries. They are unlike anything we've ever had before. Very unique, with the "tornado" name being a perfect representation of what KoKo has meant to us: A sudden whirlwind that helped us clear the cobwebs of our limited perspective and become open to appreciating new experiences, including new foods. Something that I really didn't even think about until recently was how, in most of our visits to Koko in Buena Park in 2024, our server was a kind woman named Stacy. In sports, it is often said that the best referees are the ones that you don't notice because those kinds of referees understand how to blend in with the game and not distract the audience from the main action. I think the same could be said about how Stacy approaches her role as a server at KoKo. She ensured that each meal at KoKo would be a joyful occasion for my brother and me. We could only think about how delicious the food was. But none of those experiences could have happened without Stacy blending in and taking care of our food orders and the delivery of those orders with kindness and grace. So yes, special shoutout to the one who has mastered the art to Stay-C(onsistent) in her service! If there's one thing I would like everyone to take away from this review, it's this: Life is all about creating memorable moments. Our most memorable moments often engage all five senses (sight, smell, hearing, taste and touch). With the aesthetics of Funko Pops and flat screen televisions all around the restaurant, the aroma of the chicken, the sound of laughter and joy from patrons in the restaurant, and the savoriness and texture of the food, I highly recommend KoKo Chicken & BBQ to create your most memorable moments! read more

Great place to bring a group!! We love coming here and the price is very worth it when you come with a big group and get variety! We came as a group of 8 and were able to get 2 sets of 24-piece wings, rose tteokbokki, and an order of fries. We were all pretty satisfied even after coming from a flag football practice, and the price came out to be around $15 per person. Service was very kind, even when we asked for extra sauce and checking on us with water refills. The atmosphere is very casual here, the lighting is always like LED blue and they usually have a big sports game on. They have a bathroom for girls and one for guys, which is trustworthy! My friend has been here a few times and she loves the chicken, so it was my turn to try this fried chicken spot! I tried the whole fried chicken (half original and half sweet n sour), JR wings and garlic parmesan wings. I really enjoyed the garlic parmesan wings cause they were crispy, crunchy, flavorful and moist, but my favorite was the JR wings. They aren't as battered as the other wings and come plain in flavor. They have a variety of dipping sauces to choose from including: hot sauce, original, mustard, sweet n sour and soy-- but I recommend getting the rose tteokbokki and dipping it in there. The tteokbokki sauce was creamy with rice cakes and hot dogs. The corn cheese was cheesy and buttery and absolutely delicious. The kimchi pancake is thin and not super crispy. The shrimp fried rice was okay but nothing too special. In terms of size, it's more of a personal bowl with a few pieces of shrimp. The fries were crispy and topped with cheese, onion, and small bacon pieces that makes for a perfect shareable plate. They dont just serve chicken but other Korean pub dishes too including bulgogi, soups, rice cakes and much more. With the chicken, we were provided with complimentary radishes and salad. PARKING: Tons of parking on a Saturday night. It shares a parking lot with the other businesses in the plaza. So much parking! It's a pretty big restaurant, most tables seat 4 people or can be pushed together for a larger party. K-POP music playing semi-loud in the background. FOOD: $16 DUKPOKKI (small): rice cakes formed in the shape of cylinders and in a spicy gochujang and soy sauce mix. I asked for mine spicy, but I didn't think it was spicy at all. Not even a little. The flavor was great though! It came with HALF AN EGG. Not the whole egg, just half. And some fish cakes. I love that they wrapped the dukpokki in foil, since it is very saucy, it doesn't spill if a puncture happens. Just don't turn the box over! OVERALL: For the price point of $16 for a SMALL DUKPOKKI it was yummy and hit the spot of what I wanted!
